Located just outside Townsville, this rural farm setting features lots of wildlife. There is a dam in a shaded paddock next to the camping area. You can hang out with the horses, cows, chickens and many other animals. The campsite is quiet, peaceful and relaxing. We even have a MH therapy cow, Nemoo! (bring your camera!) Enjoy a yarn around the campfire (firewood available depending on season) or a swim in the dam! This campsite suits self-contained campers who bring their own toilet/shower amenities and can run off grid. The Townsville region has much to offer. There's a free swimming pool on the esplanade. If you're up for a walk or bike ride the esplanade takes you through the gardens on the water's edge. You can also take a cruise out to Magnetic Island. Pets on leashes are welcome.

I enjoyed my stay, have been craving a night under the stars and had a friendly interaction with another guest there too! Really good to pull up for a night if you’re out and about those ways

Trish and Rush are great hosts, property was really inviting and easy to find, they had a fire all set up in the evening and loved on our dog 🥰 we will definitely be back also a powered site is optional we took that for a recharge.

Wonderfully quiet and peaceful spot just north of the hubbub of Townsville itself. Very private alongside the dam - just you and the horses. Plus access and exit is easy for big rigs like ours (23ft). The option for power is there, but you’ll need a much longer power cable than usual, ideally a double length or extension lead to access it. But it’s a great spot and highly recommended. 👍👍

Stayed one night to test out the new camper set up parked up next to the dam with horses had afire pit going nice and quiet spot the rooster let's you know it's time to wake up tho other then that I loved it and I will go back again

Trish was really accomodating and let the girls play and pat with the puppies, horses and cow. She even brought some lizards home from her work for them. We had a great time in a very peacefully place. The property is quite small and not that remote but otherwise very nice.

Proximity to Townsville was great, nice sunsets and feeding horse and cow was fun for kids. Just some tips for future travellers- Animals are behind electric fence so visitors need to be cautious. (Owner did isolate section of fence for us , but gate area stays active and kids got zapped there- our fault though for not clarifying) If you book power site make sure you have about 20m cord perhaps a little extra so you don’t need to park so close to their house. Overall .. meh for a farm stay, felt like I was camping in someone’s backyard.

I loved camping at Coothara Farm! We were surrounded by nature, farm animals, wild ducks and walibis. Trish and the caretakers were also very helpful with our setup as this was our first time renting an RV. I recommend a stay here!

The site was brilliant, great setting with some really cool animals to see. Trish was incredibly helpful all throughout our stay and went above and beyond when we made a rookie error with the utilities in our van. Would highly recommend!

The host was very accommodating with very short notice. Close enough to town for sight seeing. Very quiet and lots of wildlife around. A nice place to stay..

Nice green paddock and the most beautiful, friendly animals with big personalities! Your paint mare in particular is such a funny character! The paddock is mostly unlevel so we'd recommend to those with levelling legs (camper trailers and caravans) We'll be back again. Thanks Trish

This was basically a cow paddock at $30 per night . No contact with the host even though we were there early arvo. We couldn’t find the water and power as per the listing . The horses ducks and other farm animals are in a fenced area not accessible to guests . We had just come from another farm stay at $35 p/ night with water, power, toilets, shower, washing machine & dryer beside a crystal clear creek . Sorry but we won’t be back.

Great place to stop. Close to Townsville. Trish made us feel welcome. The farm has horses, a bull, chickens and lots of ducks. It was relaxing to sit out around a camp fire looking and listening to the farm animals.

$81 plus for 2 nights, no power or water, horse poo, very dry grass and a large dip at entry. Trish is lovely but the overpriced.
