Want to save! Book direct via our website. Charleys Creek Campgrounds, Chinchilla (previously known as Clover Hill Camping) is a unique campground right on Chinchilla’s doorstep. Set on 35 acres on the banks of Charley Creek, it has a beautiful bush land setting adjacent to the creek. A truly tranquil experience. Recently rebranded the name to Charleys Creek Campgrounds as it is more fitting, as there is no clover, not much of a hill, and not in America (Ranch). This will also tie in with our other entities - Charleys Creek Beef and Charleys Creek Brewing. We have a number of projects on the go and planned for the Charleys Creek entities to make every stay a unique and authentic experience. "Not just a campgrounds, its the experience". You are welcome to visit us, get to know us, and be part of our journey. This campground offers toilets, showers, access to potable water, and power hook ups. Open fire pits, and fire wood available. It is a dog friendly property. The story of Clover Hill Ranch- In 2019 our livestock enterprise was struggling with the ongoing drought. Water was getting very low and we were buying hay from Victoria. One day while checking stock on our grazing property Bradys (adjacent to Clover Hill Ranch) we looked across the near dry creek and said to each other - if we are going to endure this drought we need to do something different. So we were able to acquire Clover Hill Ranch which was then being run by the CMCA under a lease agreement to the then owners. Then Covid struck and the CMCA left Clover Hill Ranch. So we took it on ourselves and it has been a journey managing our four farming blocks Riverleigh; Coleridge; The Shanti and Bradys as well as Clover Hill Ranch. Fast forward and it is now April 2021 we absolutely love it; enjoy chatting with Campers about our story and we have even organised a Farm Tour route through all of our properties. The feedback has been amazing. We are continuously doing improvements to Clover Hill Ranch with many new Powered Sites with town water and new campsites right on the creek. And everyone loves it when we bring out our trailer mounted meat smoker to put on a smoked Wagyu feast! Campers can purchase our Wagyu and Grassfed Angus beef to try while camping and can even buy some to take home. Activities available at Charleys Creek Campgrounds, Chinchilla: include camping; fishing; kayaking; motorbike riding; bird watching and bush walking. There is accessibility for RVs, camper trailers, caravans and big rigs. Pull through bays available. Camping in tents is allowed. It is walking distance to Chinchilla town centre and Lions playground. Farm tours available upon request. Bookings preferable in advance to avoid disappointment.

251109 - Being fully self-contained we chose a 'non-powered site' adjacent to the creek located away from all the powered sites to which there appeared to be plenty. Privacy is guaranteed with very easy level access for large rigs (we have a 24foot van plus a LC200) and we still had heaps of room to spare. Whilst we could only 'just' see our neighbours through all the trees of this well maintained property, in the far distance, we could not hear a thing. There are some amazing and very clean amenities. Great showers, toilets and laundry with a great family owned and operated private distillery on the property up at big shed that also accommodates saturday night entertainment and a cookout, worth the visit. Located not far from the centre of the Chinchilla township that is fully serviced with all the essential 'go to's for grocery, hardware, pubs etc etc you would not be short of finding what you are looking for. Don't forget to visit the Large Watermellon' slice so you can take your photo. It's a must do. Enjoy, have fun.

Beautiful spot by river yet so close to town. Downside is there is a lot of road noise. Map directions were totally off so don’t follow them - use the hosts written directions instead.

Charley’s creek campground was a pleasant place for a few nights. Afternoon ducks on the lagoon were lovely to watch. Close to town and Archers crossing, which we explored by kayak with a picnic lunch.

Loved our stay at Charlies camp at Chinchilla this was our second stay this time on a powered site. Enjoyed the afternoon by the campfire chatting with other campers. Would highly recommend. N

Just a wonderful place to stop and enjoy with it also being so close to town. Fantastic hosts, happy hour at 5.00pm enjoying some local brews then back at our site cooking up some of the wagyu for dinner. Our hosts were fantastic and the campground was beautifully maintained. We had a great time and will definitely be back.

Steven’s land is beautifully sited along Charley’s Creek, five minutes from town and easily accessed. Lovely grassland with trees for shade and the meandering creek. Showers and ammenities clean, great bar, onsite breweries beers, top notch. Steven and Ursula as well as Candice (the manger )very welcoming, happy hour drinks and steaks to choose from ! We shall tell all our fellow travellers !

Overall it was a great experience unfortunately we didn’t get to the campground that we had booked because of the weather where the host had put us was further away from the river than we would have liked but it was still a really nice experience we would definitely recommend that possibly like a small playground or a few activities that the kids are able to participate in an inground trampoline or a small playground with a swingset sandpit just something small that the kids are able to do other than ride their bikes and Swim, but overall great experience would be back again

Booked for 2nit because told that was powered site, paid 140 for 2 nit. But unpowered site booking confirmed on email. On arrival, told power site not available but when we set up done, we saw many of powered site emptied still.

Get along to happy hour and try some of the property owner’s beers! River was great for a swim. Bit murky for fishing after all the rain. Private, easy set up on grassy flat sites. We went unpowered on the river bank. It’s an oasis in the outskirts of town. Town is nearby for just about anything you may need. I’ll definitely take my young family and dog back again!

What a great spot for a break!! We loved our area by the creek and Friday night wagyu dinner was so good!! Highly recommend it! Steve and his family were really lovely and accommodating. We would definitely camp here again 10/10

Great place to stay. So beautiful and peaceful. Make sure you get some Wagu Beef from Steve. We bought a few slabs of dumb and we are enjoying it now that we are back home! Great place to stay. Thanks

Terrific stay, and lovely place. Loved the hospitality and recommend the pale ale to go with the wagu sold on-site. Special mention for the care taker Nigel, he couldn’t be more welcoming and accommodating.

Stayed here for 3 nights (including Friday). Had just the right amount of peace & quiet and things on. Friday night was a nice, intimate presentation and dinner. Toilets and showers were always clean, beer was delicious, Tom was polite and fun. Would stay again.

Tom the caretaker very nice and helpful. Lots of room and big sites. The single toilet would struggle if busy. Clean basic facilities. Truck traffic noise from Hwy 500 m away. We had a private, Unpowered site right on the creek.
