Wow, we had a fantastic time at Carbean Camping & Farmstay. Sandy and Lyle are fabulous hosts. Plenty to do and explore. We went panning in the Macintyre Brook, unfortunately no gold for us so back to work it is for me. We also hiked up road to the site of the old sheep shearing structure and found a few relics left behind. Plenty of fishing in the dam and detecting around the campsite finding all sorts of things. We even had an encounter with a stray lamb separated from the flock and had the privilege of giving it a bottle feed. Now I know the lay of the land we’re extremely keen to get back out there and do more exploring across the property. See you soon folks!! Cheers, Frase and Gib.

We loved our weekend at Carbean! Baby lambs, creeks with shady trees, zero traffic at the end of a dirt road, only one other family in sight. We saw lots of birds on the dam, at least four kinds of kangaroo/wallaby. Campground is huge and nearly flat, great for kids to play, fishing in the dam is allowed.

This has been one of the best camping spots we’ve visited so far. Lyndon and Lyle are incredibly friendly and helpful, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The campsite is spacious, peaceful, and well-equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. We’ll definitely be coming back!

We loved our stay at carabean camping.
Lyle met us on arrival and explained about the property and some lovely history about the area.
The camp sites are wonderfully spaced out with views of the big dam.
Having a little bush toilet is a bonus.
The magic happens at night when the sky's are clear you will get a million star view ✨️

Nice quiet spot by the dam with lovely sunset and stars. Lots of firewood and a clean drop loo.
At least 30 min from Karara... A fair way off the motorway.

We had an amazing stay at Carbean Farm Stay — a working sheep farm that offers true-blue bush camping, gold prospecting, and good old-fashioned country hospitality.
Lyle and Sandy, the hosts, are just the loveliest people — warm, welcoming, and happy to share their little slice of paradise. You instantly feel at home.
Our 11-year-old had the best time. When he wasn’t out with Dad on the gold hunt, he was happily roaming the campground like a free-range kid (we were the only ones camped there at the time) — soaking up that bush life.
We’ll definitely be back!

Lyndon and Lyle were great hosts. They stopped in one night for a bit and shared some history of the property and their experiences which was great. The site itself is open and the wildlife just wanders around as if you aren’t even there. Very relaxing spot.

Five sites only and everyone was having fun yet were far enough away that we could hardly hear them.
Love the bush shower set up.
Sandy might be the owner but Lil the dog is a star host too.
Loved every second of our Easter escape on this beautifully rugged property.

Loved our stay. It was nice to be able to walk around the paddocks and see the sheep and the lambs. It was an experience to use the copper to heat up water for a shower. That was a bit of fun. Great place to chill out and enjoy the bush. Lyle and Sandy and Lil the dog were lovely hosts.

The owners were really helpful, sites set up for us, firewood supplied.
Heaps of space, we were allowed to drive around the property. Tested out the gold detector.
Night time checking out the stars was amazing!
We will definitely be back.

Sandy and Lyle were very welcoming and checked on us and other campers each day. The camping area offers a relatively flat and open area. Each site has a place for a fire with wood and picnic seating. There is a tree area for shade.
There are roads to drive on to explore and areas to walk. If you enjoy fossicking there are locations on the property, which Sandy will indicate the best spots.
We enjoyed our stay even with a frosty -1 morning on our first night.

My partner and I had a great time at Carbean. Lyndon and Lyle are super welcoming and there was endless spots to explore! The campsites are also really well kept and spaced out nicely. Will be back again for sure!

Hosts met us on arrival and were super friendly and were happy to share their knowledge of the area. They showed us to our site were there was plenty of firewood supplied, large maintained area with fire pit.
Drop toilet was clean and maintained every day.
Lyle dropped in each day to see if we needed anything and was happy to pass on stories of the property and the local area.
Really impressed and will be back in the future.

The weather unfortunately was not the best for our stay but the camp ground was very well maintained with each Camp area having a very large space, a fire pit with supplied wood and a rustic table and seating. Our dogs could be off leash which they enjoyed immensely.

This camp site is unique situated with views of the wind farm in the distance. The camp area is clean and mowed with a very good drop toilet. There is also plenty of room at the site for activities and hikes or rides on the trails. I was there to photograph the night and it was perfect. Lyle and Sandy were welcoming and a wealth of local knowledge.

Great large camp area. All as described. The wood burns for hours! Bucket shower and long drop toilet. Great hosts. We had the entire paddock to ourselves most of the time - aside from many bird species, kangaroos and some cows in the next paddock.

Five sites well spaced out. Had a real bush feel. Loved that firewood was supplied. My dogs were able to run around and enjoy themselves off leash.
