This was our second stay at this spot and we really like it. The fireplace and deck + picnic table are a great addition to the pretty nature. The only issue we had was some other campers setting off fireworks which really freaked out our dogs. Otherwise it's a very friendly place for dogs and we would come back at any time that isn't a holiday weekend.

Great getaway

Had an amazing time at Jim's property. A neighbor was playing music till 3am but I didn't mind since I was taking in the lunar eclipse. Still felt very secluded even without all the foliage filled in. Also enjoyed a small hike down to the creek which is just a short distance away. I will definitely return as often as I can! Thank you Jim!

Nice camping location with plenty of space for tent setups and hammock setups. The firepit is setup well and plenty of kindling on the ground. Good amount of space to hike and explore and check out the local creek and large rock formations. There is a house about 50 yards away that can be noisy with dogs barking, kids yelling and a dirt bike, but that's not the host's fault at all.
The nights were very quiet and peaceful. The parking spot has a clearing for star gazing but otherwise plenty of shade from the trees over the firepit.

Great location! We were able to spend the day at Ohiopyle and also visit Fallingwater both a short distance from the site. Very private. A little tricky to find (long driveway) and you need a vehicle with high clearance to navigate the I paved road to the site but totally worth it. We will be back!

Spent the weekend tent camping here. Huge bonfire pit, and nice deck to pull up next to and set up tent on next to picnic table. When we got there, lots of chopped firewood that was dry and burned well. Very unique little town, hiked at Fallingwater and went to see the 9/11 memorial in Somerset. Great weekend, would definitely recommend. Very secluded and quiet.

Perfect place to commune with nature. We felt very relaxed and secluded here, and spent most of the day down by the creek (a short ten minute hike away) with our dog. Nice big fire pit with plenty of wood. The deck and picnic table were super convenient, and the tiki torches kept the bugs away. Thanks for sharing your land with us. It’s beautiful!

It was really beautiful with all of the ferns! It was quiet and peaceful and private, barely can tell that there are neighbors off in the distance. Plenty of space to explore, but also a great place to just stay at camp and relax. Plenty of firewood and kindling available when I got there and Jim was very nice letting me know where everything was and that the forecast called for a clear sky for a great view. Definitely want to come back and hike some more and explore!

Relaxing with some noise in the evening

The campsite was beautiful and serene and offered a lot of privacy. We really enjoyed relaxing here but there was a lot of noise from the neighbors in the evening that was somewhat disruptive. We contacted the host and he assured us this would be addressed and he graciously provided a refund. There was no more noise later that night. We appreciated Jim being so responsive and still had a good time.

Really enjoyed camping among the ferns. It's an especially good site if you like hammock camping. Nicely secluded. Didn't really hear or see any neighbors. Close to the paddling in Ohiopyle. Would do again.

The camp was cozy and private. The parking pad was perfect for our pickup truck and roof top tent. The wooden deck was surprisingly nice to have. We loved the fire pit. There are some great rock formations and a beautiful creek a short hike away. You could hear the neighboring properties mowing and riding ATV’s but we still felt private. The location is also great.

We hammock camped for the weekend with our dogs and it was such a nice spot. There is comfortably space for four hammocks around the fire pit. The dogs and the three of us enjoyed the stream and walking through the woods. The host provided us with more fire wood the second day. The spot is fairly private with a few properties surrounding that you can glimpse in the distance. We would definitely like to come back at some point!

We were really only at the campsite to sleep, but it was great! Really not that many bugs at all, I was shocked. There's a winery across the street from the private drive that's awesome, too.
The directions we received were easy to follow. I would stay here again!

We only got to stay for an hour or two because my dog covered himself in crap. But the land is amazing. Wonderful rock formations and a pretty cascading creek. We'll be back to make another attempt :)

Fern Groove was nice and easy. We would stay there again. Site fit our camping van well and was even/flat for staging. Picnic table and fire pit were a great bonus! Location is private and peaceful.

This spot worked out great for us to camp in our truck’s pop up tent. With many public camping sites in the area closed for the season, we were relieved to get a quick response from Jim. He provided clear and detailed instructions. Having the deck, picnic table, fire pit and provided firewood was a plus.

Camping amongst the ferns!

We really enjoyed camping on Jim's land. It was a perfect spot amongst the ferns! Very quiet and private. We had a rooftop tent on our Jeep and simply backed in and opened it so that the ladder would come down on the wooden platform. We appreciated the fact that wood was provided for the fire pit and our kids found a perfect spot to place their tent under the trees nearby. The forest around the site is really beautiful and worth exploring. All in all - it ended up being the perfect location for our Labor Day weekend and we would definitely recommend Jim's place to others!
