Hillier Hideaway is a beautiful 5-acre property located 2 minutes from Coolalinga Central. With 4 well shaded, spacious sites this is the perfect place to pull up and explore Darwin and its surrounds. Sites are not visible from the road and there are no dirt bike tracks or open land adjoining the property, making this a very secluded and safe site. We can accommodate vans up to 24 feet and have 1 dedicated site for either a camper trailer or tent. All sites have no power or water, so you will need to be fully self-sufficient. There is however a single shower and toilet for use if needed. There is a dump point at the Caravan Park across from Coolalinga Central that can be used for a small fee. All sites are well maintained with plenty of shade, please note during the dry season the grassed area will die off. There will be areas allocated for small campfires and guests must follow fire bans as the restrictions come up. There are wild peacocks that come in at dawn and dusk to get their daily feed, guests are welcome to come watch, Burdekin ducks and possums at night. Pets are allowed however dogs must remain on a lead as there is allot of wildlife that call the property home.

Site 1 is located to the front of the property and can take medium to large vans, camper vans, camp trailers and tents. This site has the most grass and has shade 90% of the day. Outdoor toilet and shower for use if not self sufficent, located 100m behind Site 1.

Site 2 is the largest of the site to accomodate our larger vans. It is located in the centre of the property and is shaded for most of the morning and all afternoon.

Extended our stay at Hillier Hideaway. Andrew and Michelle are such flexible and wonderful hosts, and space was just perfect for our needs. Plenty of great conversations, tips on where to go… everything we could ask for, and more.

We loved our stay at Hilliers Hideaway! Andrew and Michelle have got a fantastic property which provides the perfect base to explore all that Darwin and surrounds have to offer. Andrew and Michelle were fantastic welcoming hosts offering local insights into the areas attractions.

We loved our stay here ! Fantastic and very welcoming hosts ! Beautiful green lush place and birds around. Close to Darwin and very convenient. Clean toilet/shower. Would definitely stay there again!

This was a beautiful spot to stay. A little oasis of greenery, with a lovely shade campsite and grass to pitch our tent on. There was a great bathroom set up with toilet and shower which was very clean and well kept. Andrew and Michelle were amazing hosts. They checked in on us daily and were more than happy to help or answer questions. They even provided our 2yo with toys to entertain her at camp! The peacocks were a real hit with our little one, she is still talking about them 2 weeks later! I highly recommend this stay.

Our second stay at Hillier Hideaway, highly recommended it. The hosts, are terrific and the location ideal. Shady grassed area is a treat, along with shower and toilet in a very private camp.

We were greeted by Michelle at the front gate who showed us the available sites. What a fantastic property and Michelle and Andrew are exceptional hosts. Michelle provided a welcome pack that was unexpected but greatly appreciate.

Amazing base to explore darwin

Andrew and Michelle were top rate hosts. We were warmly welcomed onto their property for 4 nights and looked after as though we were friends. Mozzies were kept at bay by Andrew, the bathroom was super clean and we were given plenty of recommendations for the area. Would definitely stay again!

If you’re looking for a great place to stay when you’re in Darwin, this is it. Friendly hosts, private quiet area to stay that’s surrounded by gardens and wildlife. Shops and well known tourist areas close by. Nothing feels too far away. Highly recommend a stay and well done Andrew and Michelle. We’ll be back.

Hilliers Hideaway is an exceptional Hipcamp! A great spot to explore Darwin, Berry Springs, Litchfield etc. Not far from shops if you need them. Very secure and safe. Great facilities - very clean and everything has been thought of even a bathmat! A beautiful property where we we surrounded by a tropical garden complete with roaming peacocks! The best part - the hosts Andrew and Michelle. Amazing people who were kind and thoughtful. This is a 6 star Hipcamp!! We would love to recommend this property to anyone looking for a great spot to stay when exploring Darwin. We didn’t want to leave!

I would like to give this new Hipcamp 6 stars!! 5 is not enough. The site is really beautiful- surrounded by lush tropical gardens and with plenty of green grass. We felt very welcomed by our hosts Andrew and Michelle who could not have been more friendly or accommodating. The facilities are very clean and the shower even has a bathmat. Andrew gave us a heap of firewood and fires were allowed. The site is very secure and easy to access. As a bonus you get to see the peacocks being fed every day. A great base to explore Darwin and the surrounds and close to shops if you need them. We leave with fond memories. We would definitely recommend this wonderful Hipcamp.

We LOVED the hosts & this campsite. This is a beautifully grassed & quiet piece of paradise centrally located for everything - Darwin, Litchfield & Kakadu (& extensive range of shops less than 5 min drive away). Michelle & Andrew are such lovely, friendly, informative & helpful hosts. The well stocked & nicely decorated shower & toilet room was an unexpected treat. We were lucky enough to have the area to ourselves, which allowed our dog to be off lead to safely run & play. Join in feeding the wild peacocks. plenty of firewood was kindly provided by Andrew for a relaxing evening fire. All your belongings feel safe with the property fully fenced with an electric gate (you are provided your own remote control). Also, van storage is a possibility so just ask Andrew. We THOROUGHLY recommend this fabulous camp site & this wonderful couple.
