Wunglebung is a beautiful remote 1600 acre working cattle property on the upper Rocky River near Tenterfield NSW. The magnificent Rocky River and Bicentennial National Trail run through the property with National Park boundaries. There are tracks to follow and beautiful valley trails to drive and explore. There is plenty of wildlife and native flora to discover at Wunglebung. A true bush retreat, Wunglebung has areas designated for campers, vans, tents and motorhomes. 4WD access required for all sites but one. We offer bushwalking, swimming, kayaking, mountain biking and lots of big sky star gazing. No overcrowding.  No fishing.  Please note we have no mobile or internet service available.

A flat large grassy site up from the river, this site has shade but not enough to shade your vehicle/camper but has plenty of spots to park your chair under and relax, good river access and a sandy bank, perfect spot for the cooler months and suitable for group bookings, You will need to bring extra shade with you for this site for around your vehicles, there is plenty of shade to sit under or if you have a 4x4 you can set up right on the sandbank. Kingfisher Camp
We loved camping at Wunglebung. The scenery is beautiful camping along the river bank. Heaps of wildlife eg turtles, possums, native birds. Camp site are large and spacish, so never bothering your neighbours.

Kookaburra Camp
We just spent Australia Day at Wunglebung. 7 of us camping at the Kookaburra campsite with a caravan, camper trailers and tent. The facilities were excellent and our site was very private with good access to the river. The views were magnificent and the cows were very friendly. Its great that it has been opened up to the public for camping purposes. Toilet and shower facilities were clean The drop toilet was good in daylight hours 😳 We have camped in lots of places, and would class this as one of the best. 😀

Kingfisher Camp
We loved the long, winding, adventurous drive into Wunglebung as we descended down into the secluded valley. It truly felt like stepping away from the world—nothing but peace, quiet, and a beautiful river to camp beside, with cows nearby and possums visiting at night. Unfortunately, we didn’t spot a platypus this time, but maybe next visit. We camped at the Kingfisher site, where the creek was a little deeper and perfect for a refreshing swim. The rustic country camp showers and toilets were beautifully laid out, with flushing toilets and gas hot-water showers, all within easy walking distance of our campsite—super convenient. The 4WD-access-only sunset lookout was spectacular and the perfect spot to enjoy a few coldies as the sun went down. Highly recommend Wunglebung.

Kookaburra Camp
Our area was absolutely beautiful. A place you go to relax and take in the great view of the river and hills around you. Toilet facilities great and all you need. Sarah gave great directions to get there. River has lots of rocks but that is a river and you just have your rock shoes on. Very peaceful and serene, top spot thanks Sarah for sharing you peace of paradise.

Wunglebung is a great spot!! Well spaced large campsites all on the river that was great to swim in ( next visit I will remember to take a paddleboard). - I am not sure there is more you can ask for. The bonus of a toilet & shower tops it off. We had the cows visit in the afternoon and a friendly possum at night. We are busy planning a mid week break out there now,

Night Watch Camp
What a magical place for a few days away from the busyness of life! We camped at the Nightwatch site which was perfect for the kids being right next to the shallow waters flowing over the causeway and rocky rapids. We also loved drifting down the river on our pool noodles and campfires under the starts each night. It was so lovely to disconnect and just soak in nature and the gorgeous surrounding hills. We spotted lots of wildlife and the cows roaming through were fun to watch. The amenities block was wonderfully clean and easy to access, and so nice to have flushing toilets and showers nearby. Highly recommend Wunglebung for some quality down time with family or friends! (And don’t miss the opportunity for a Golden Hour glass of wine on Sunset Hill!)

Night Watch Camp
We camped two nights at Nightwatch and absolutely loved it. It's an awesome campsite, right on the creek, with great swimming, incredible star gazing, and an easy walk to clean toilets. The cows popped by to check us out too. Sarah and family have put a lot of effort into this beautiful property. The whole place felt peaceful and safe. We’d happily stay again.

Possum Hollow Camp
Beautiful property with amazing views - our fifth trip to Wunglebung! Camping right beside the river- kayaking, spotting platypus regularly! Amenities block is clean and is very practical with flushing toilets and hot showers. Sarah is always so friendly and helpful!

Drovers Rest Camp
This place is great for a get away from it all stay. The dirt road is was long but quite easy and well maintained. Access in and out of the river was not too easy with steep banks and slippery rocks but once in the water was refreshing. I know it's a working cattle property and cattle are expected and they do wander through your campsite but the recycled grass they leave behind was a bit much. It was everywhere. Hot showers and flushing toilets were an unexpected luxury.

Great property, wonderful river flowing through. Our camp was a little higher up on the bank so access to river was a little difficult but closer to the property entry was the best spot. Great lookout that you can access with a 4wd. Nice and quiet, and the drive in is great....steep gravel road on the way out.

Kookaburra Camp
Stayed at the Kookaburra site and it was fantastic. Super private and well away from other campers. River was down a small hill, right where you camp - banks were a bit reedy/tall grass but still easy to take a swim in the river. No shade at all but we had our own shelter/awnings. Showers and toilets were clean. Honestly a great time, will be back!!!

Night Watch Camp
What an amazing spot to camp!! Had Night Watch site.. 3 of the most chilled relaxing nights camping with fun in the rapids, floating gently downstream , campfires, cows, sitting on Sunset Hill to watch the sun go down over the mountains... Flat grassy sites, great clean amenities.. Wish we stayed longer!!

Drovers Rest Camp
Stayed at Drover's Rest. Very picturesque and quiet. Camp sites are extremely well spaced. Well done to Sarah who could easily cram more campers in to get more money but has kept the sites separate and private. Wifi was a definite bonus for us as we need to keep in contact with family for medical purposes. Shower and toilet facilities were clean and a definite bonus. We left early due to threat of rain and slippery road back to Tenterfield but other than that would definitely recommend a stay here.

I loved the the big camp sites, the water and hill views, the fact that the next camp site was soooo far away and the sound of the running water at nighttime. The amenities block was large and super clean and a huge bonus with flushing toilets and hot showers.

Fantastic place to camp. Very quiet farm land perched next to a beautiful river. The cows are very friendly and it’s an easy drive from Tenterfield. Great for a couple of days to unwind!

A delightful and relaxing farm stay. Beautiful hot showers, flushing loos and friendly managers. The option to buy good quality firewood (saved on packing!) and loved relaxing in the river (should have brought a kayak or boogie board). Wildlife was magical (so many varieties of birds!) and the camp grounds well kept/slashed/clean. The cattle seem well used to human interaction. One cow, we affectionately named Hilda, took great delight in helping clean our dishes, the niece loved patting her. Excellent security with a camera on the entrance but far enough away to deter troublemakers. No light pollution, the stars steal the show. Please follow the vehicle recommendations, SUV or bigger, I’d hate to see this magical spot ruined by a bogged sedan or a flooded hatchback.
