At Wildwoods you'll find 330 acres of natural bushland and a small amount of cleared farmland/paddocks with incredible views in every direction. Endless gullies, mountains, forests, cliffs, and caves to explore on the property or on the crown land adjoining. An amazing amount of wildlife - Birds, wombats, kangaroos of all kinds (wallaby, wallaroo, eastern greys etc), goannas, echidnas, turtles, ducks just to name a few. There are also plenty of roads to ride and explore via mountain bike or foot. The road in is a little rough, and there is only a small amount of levelled land. But it is still an amazing spot, where nature does all the hard work, and I would love to share it with people. This is the perfect place for those who want to be in total peace and quiet, surrounded by nature and wildlife. Each campsite is private, where by you're the only camper able to book the site. Some are more private than others - Read each description for details. *Please note* access to the property is via Megalong Road - a narrow windy road, the only road in and out of Megalong Valley. Google maps can sometimes show options through Kanimbla Valley - This is not possible. Ensure you come in via Megalong Road.

Rice Flower Camp

100%
(75)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 12 · Vehicles under 10 m
The Rice Flower campsite is a very secluded and private site, with its own driveway about 500m long out on a ridge. It is surrounded by an array of gum trees, as well as an abundance of native Rice Flowers (Ozothamnus diosmifolius) in the lower canopy. This adds to its complete privacy, but still allows for dappled views to the East and West. You will have this site completely to yourself. The clearing is approximately 30m x 20m, so depending on your tent/van sizes, multiple campers can fit in this area. There is currently no facilities at this site so campers should be self contained. The driveway to the site is narrow and involves some sharp turns. 4WD or AWD is recommended. Confident 2WDers are generally also fine. Confidence is necessary for those driving larger vans to this site.

Ridge Top Camp

100%
(56)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 10 · Vehicles under 12 m
This site is a flat triangle point of a ridge, not far from the property access road. Vehicles with clearance/4WD/AWD are recommended to access site due to bumpy terrain and a bit of a drop off from the road, however 2WD have accessed the site fine. The ground is mostly hard dirt, with a small grass area set back a bit from the view. So, perfect for roof top tents or camper trailers. But also suitable for tents if you set yourself back from the ridge a bit. It is triangular shaped, with the point of the triangle coming to a rocky outcrop with beautiful views. You have this whole site to yourselves with the nearest camp being approx. 200m away, through dappled trees, but is very private. There are no facilities at this campsite and the ground is hard to dig here, so campers should be self contained. You can expect other campers and my personal vehicles driving past this campsite on the gravel private property access trail, set back about 20m behind the camp. For those adventurous, you can explore straight off the rocky outcrop at the ridge point and down in to the beautiful gully below by foot. Here you can find some sandstone cliffs, many wombat holes and lots of wildlife. It is also a very short walk to the top of the cliffs where you can find the Aboriginal grinding grooves.

Paddock Camp

98%
(29)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 12 · Vehicles under 28 m
Paddock Camp is set in a large sloping grass field, with a levelled area for camping on the top of the ridge. It is perfect for those who want open sky and space around them. Plenty of room for dogs and or kids to run free across the paddock. And perfect for star gazing. It has dappled views of the cliffs to the N/E, as well as some distant views to the West. The levelled area is approximately 20m x 15m, enough for a van, or two if happy to be close. There is also plenty of open space on the slopes if you want to level yourself, or camp there, that’s also an option. The ground of the levelled area is rocky, with small patches of grass, so best to be off the ground. It is about 1km from the main road, along the private dirt road. One section of the dirt road is a steep rocky hill with a few ruts. 2WD cars do navigate it, but good clearance and confidence driving on unstable surfaces is recommended. There is a fire ring for campers use, and you are welcome to collect your wood own from surrounding bush. Any tools equipment used is at your own risk, and only collect fallen timber. There are a few trails and roads around the property which are wonderful to explore, I am happy to explain directions to you on request. The nearest campsites to you are approx. 100m away, across the paddock. And 200m through the trees. With the right orientation, it is still a nicely private site, but not completely secluded like some other sites. Larger group bookings are only by request.

Sunset Hill

100%
(19)
RV/tent site · Sleeps 6 · Vehicles under 28 m
The Point campsite is site with two options for camping. The upper campsite is a small flat area located on the top of the hill, up a small steep driveway. It has some amazing views, particularly at sunset. This part of the site is not suitable for trailers or caravans, as it is a tight space with not much room to turn around and steep drops on most sides. This site is perfect for rooftop tents, or car based camping. At the bottom of this hill is the ‘lower campsite’ which is a good camp option for those with trailers, vans or just want more space. Position yourself at the bottom of the hill, which still has fabulous views and enjoy the top of the hill for sundowners or similar. The ground underfoot is quite hard, so on ground tent camping isn't recommended but stretchers and similar would suit well. The road to the campsite involves a steep rocky hill down, which can also have ruts after rain, and about 2km on dirt road. 2WD can access, but good clearance, AWD is recommended. The lower campsite has the driveway to Rice Flower camp come across it. (See photo for reference). It is only an access road for this campsite so should still remain quiet. It is just off the internal property road, which also has minimal traffic - You’ll hear a car coming well before you see it, it’s mostly very quiet. But do expect cars coming past, this campsite is one of the closest to the road, but some of the best views in all directions. Self contained is preferred, there are no facilities at this campsite. Fires are permitted within the fire circle, wood can be collected from fallen trees around the site (any equipment used to do so at own risk).
