We came across this by accident and right from the get go Mathew was more than accommodating to our needs the facility is top notch and proximity to all the Hastings area has to offer. Thank you Mathew our little big family will visit again.

Luxury camping for me!

Really well maintained land and the kitchen/shower facilities were brand new and to a really high standard! Loved the proximity to the river itself so we could all see the sun set over it Matthew came round to say hi and was really warm and friendly :) Would definitely recommend anyone to stay here!

Beautiful place with a great host

This campsite by the river was beautiful, we wished we could have stayed longer. The host, Matt, was responsive and we had clear instructions and communication leading up to check in. Amenities were also great, there was a well-equipped kitchen with BBQ and clean, spacious shower and toilets with everything we needed. Would definitely love to return!

Rolled into driveway after a long day of driving to a very welcoming host who showed us all the amenities. The sites were immaculate and the shared kitchen/bathrooms were great creature comforts. Loved sitting at the rivers edge with some wine at sunset and coffee watching cows graze in a nearby pasture.

Best facilities we've ever had at a campsite- clean and spacious showers and toilets, BBQ, indoor and outdoor cooking areas. Experienced the most beautiful sunrise and spotted a dolphin in the river!

Gorgeous spot well worth the stop!

What a fantastic spot! This is an incredibly well maintained and gorgeous spot to spend a few days. The amenities are brand new and really well considered - the bathroom was even nicer than ours at home! It honestly felt like staying at an air bnb minus the bedroom. Matt was a great had and checked in and then left us to enjoy our time. A lovely spot on the river to relax and unwind. We will definitely be recommending to others passing through the area!

Best place to stay in PortMacquarie

Amazing site. Perfect location to relax, unwind, watch the sunset and read a book. The facilities were all sparkling clean and the kitchen was so well equipped you could make anything. Bonus it is only 10 minutes drive away from Guulabaa place of the koala.

Everything you have read in the previous reviews are exactly as described, A1 cleanliness and organisation of kitchen and facility’s, all the little things have been well thought of and attended to, top quality products throughout, the view from the front deck is prime, you will go far and wide to get it this good at such a secluded campground, so quiet in the evenings and night. Do yourself a favour and stop a few nights, you will be impressed with the whole facility and Matt is a great host , helpful and up for a chat if you feel the need or keep to yourself and have the privacy if you like it like that👌

All we can say is that all our expectations were surpassed with the camp grounds. Cleanest ablution and kitchen we've ever seen. Owners hospitality and attention to detail made the experience even more special. Quiet and beautiful. Would highly recommend this camp and we definitely plan to return.

Lovely quiet spot, and so well maintained. The bathrooms and camp kitchen are first class. Matthew popped out to check that I was in safely and under control despite a very late arrival.

A 5-star off grid camping dream

An absolutely fantastic place. We arrived to a warm welcome and a walk around the facilities which were more like a 5 star hotel than a campsite!!! Our RV was pitched next to the river, with amazing views. We were fully self contained, but if you’re not, there is a fully equipped kitchen and lounge area overlooking the river. It was so tranquil, just the odd moo and sound of the birds. An off grid camping dream. Thank you Matt for your hospitality.

Super friendly host who came to meet us when we arrived and showed us all the facilities. The cabin and amenities was very well kept and super nice in “Nordic design”, we loved it and had our dinner in the little kitchen watching the river sunset. The garden where we placed the RV was filled with roses, flowers and citrus trees. Our four year old had a blast making friends with the two very friendly dogs from the property. Highly recommend it.

We loved our 2 days at The Riverbank Campsite. So peaceful and quiet, and Matthew, our host, was wonderful; very welcoming and accommodating. The amenities were top notch. Whilst there. we visited the lovely Abundance Cafe for lunch, conveniently located just 3km down the road.

Had an amazing experience here! Well kept site and communal area. Before this, my partner and I typically chose self-contained sites. We have been looking for sites with showers as we are doing a week long road trip. Our last hipcamp had composting toilets and hot outhouse shower set up. In contrast, Matt’s shower and toilet felt like a hotel. They even had kitchenware and utensils in the communal area for guests to use. Matt, as a hipcamp host, was a legend. He called immediately after booking to arrange a tour of the site and checked in on how our stay was going in the morning. Would come back !

The new facilities at the Riverbank camping were perfect for our needs, especially the decent pressured showers, and the sunrise through the trees was amazing to wake up to. Matt is an exceptional host who makes sure you know your way around and answers any questions you have.

Great campsite

We loved camping at Matt's riverside campsite. It's nice and quiet with only four sites and all a good distance apart. The campground is only 10mins from the freeway and 20mins to Port Macquarie. The facilities are excellent. Camp kitchen is well equipped and there's a BBQ on the deck outside the kitchen. Matt is very friendly and replies promptly. Highly recommend and look forward to visiting again!

Amazing campsite! On arrival Matt our host situated us on a lovely flat spot on the site with a great view of the river! We were then shown the incredible facilities… 10/10 best Hip camp facilities very clean, spacious and well looked after (hot showers were lovely) Easy access to power, bore water & drinking water. Matt was extremely accommodating and gave us some lovely memories of our time here. Would recommend to anyone reading this review!
