Your ideal getaway - limited, private camp sites just a few K's off the Oxley Highway for a quiet overnight stop-over? ...or maybe you'd like to spend a few days chillaxing in a quiet and secure location (we have a locked gate and provide access code). Here you can set up your base camp to safely leave and do day trips to get out and explore the beautiful surrounding area. Only 45 min from Port Macquarie, 30 min to Wauchope and just 10 min to Long Flat where there's a Pub for takeaway, a social drink as well as food and sometimes live music on weekends. The General Store has general supplies, takeaway, PO and fuel. Retaining the peace and tranquillity of our property is important to us and why the number of sites and campers is limited. Although there are designated camping spots we're happy to be flexible if you arrive and would like to relocate within our extensive 'camping area' ...depending on weather conditions and respecting the personal space of other campers. We have livestock (currently horses) running throughout the property - some can be very friendly but please don't approach or feed them. We prefer no dogs but will allow if dogs remain well controlled, tethered or on a leash - this is for the safety of your pet as well as the livestock and wildlife. You will see and hear all kinds of wildlife, particularly morning and evening when they are most active. There are no amenities, rubbish or water facilities so come prepared, take what you brought and leave it as you found it. There is one only port-a-loo with pop-up-tent available for hire if required. You are welcome to take a walk or pushbike and enjoy the peace and nature but please no driving of vehicles or use of motorcycles or quads. PLEASE NOTE: Fire restrictions from September 1st and usually continue during Summer. Fire Permits are not required for fires for the purpose of cooking food, provided that: 1. the fire is in a permanently constructed fireplace. (or fire pit) 2. at a site surrounded by ground that is cleared of all combustible materials for a distance of at least two metres all around. 3. the fire is completely extinguished before leaving.

The Creek site offers a slightly sloping, large grassed area on the banks of a small, tree-lined creek where campers can expect quiet and privacy. Use this secure location as a base camp to explore the surrounding area or... Stay and enjoy the sound of trickling water and the abundance of native bird life.  Wildlife activity and sounds vary from season and time of day but you'll always see somewhat timid wallabies and the resident herd of horses as they frolic and graze across the property. Please don't attempt to approach or feed any of the above.  Just relax and chill in the serenity, take an easy stroll with your camera or explore the area to experience flora, fauna and views that it has to offer....and it's hard to beat sitting around a campfire at night to share and laugh with family and friends.  Oh... there is also excellent mobile coverage in the area for those who need to stay connected. A 4WD is recommended during wet weather or when towing a caravan. After soaking rain the ground can become quite saturated and slippery but also dries out quickly with a little sunshine and breeze. Guests must be self contained and leave no trace. Fires permitted in designated areas when restrictions aren't in place. There is plenty of firewood nearby for you to cut and/or gather but please be considerate when using chainsaws - don't fall any standing trees.  Well behaved pets and humans are all welcome - otherwise, please keep them on a leash ;) Should have any requirements that may vary from those listed, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Lovely sunny North facing site overlooking grassy pasture to the bush and hills beyond. This site are accessed via a slashed track suitable for tent camping / camper trailer / small motorhome. Larger motorhome and caravan - access could be challenging during wet weather when a 4WD is recommended especially if towing a caravan. After soaking rain the ground can become quite saturated and slippery but also dries out quickly with a little sunshine and breeze. The Treeline offers very basic, gently sloping campsite being generous mown grass area, allowing for campfire or fire pit.  There is plenty of firewood nearby for you to cut and/or gather but please be considerate when using chainsaws - don't fall any standing trees. There are no amenities provided so bring along your own toilet/shower/water. Enjoy the peace! Oh... there is also excellent mobile coverage in the area for those who need to stay connected. WET WEATHER ACCESS - 4WD (and experience) RECOMMENDED for motorhomes and caravans. Please send us a message if it's been raining for a period and we can provide a current assessment. Had a wonderful time camping here with my dogs! The host is communicative, welcoming and helpful! Great stay reading by the creek while the dogs played in it, walking the bush tracks around the property and taking in the stars at night! Was a great way to unwind and relax, would definitely reccomend and stay again!

Amazing location! So peaceful and loved the privacy. Plenty of room for dogs to run around. Make sure you’ve got some good levelling blocks because the site has decent slope but we managed to get it pretty close.

We had a great few days at Mistan Valley with a nice view of the valley and surrounding hills. The valley lives up to its name as we were even treated with beautiful morning of clearing mist. Plenty of firewood readily available. We enjoyed our stay, Thanks Steve!

We loved the camp, had plenty of space and the other campers were no where near us. We walked up a mountain track to the top. Awesome views only 2 km round trip and worth the walk. We will be back, thank you Steve 😊

Had a great stay in Stephen’s property! He is a wonderful host, so friendly and accommodating and very knowledgeable about things to do in the local area. The campsite was so private and peaceful right by the trickling creek. Perfect!

My partner and I had a wonderful stay at Steve's property. Beautiful landscape and a very pretty creek nearby we explored. The horses wandered around the paddocks (looking very majestic) and did not disrupt our camping spot. Steve is a very friendly and helpful host. Highly recommend staying at Mistan Valley Farm - The Creek for people new to self-contained camping. Thanks so much Steve for the stay! :)

Highly recommend! The position is great, site was an easy find and set up! We had a great fire, and where able to collect firewood on site (unlike a lot of other places in Hipcamp) They also have a lock on the gate so if you needed to leave your gear you could without stress!

Beautiful camp-site. Extremely peaceful and remote. We were lucky to have the whole place to ourselves. We had a few visits from horses and wallabies.

Great long weekend at Mistan Valley. Exactly as described, easy to get to, clean campsites, quiet and beautiful. Despite the rain Steve had so much timber prepared for us we still managed campfires every night. Thanks for having us we will be back. The kids absolutely loved the horses.

Stay was okay. Large open area around 300m from very quiet dirt road. Requires not insignificant effort to level up. No view to speak of. Plenty of birds along with a few roos and horses. Had a fire 2 nights which was great. Heap of timber piled up for use but would need a chainsaw to cut it up.

We booked last minute after our original Easter booking was canceled. Steve was an excellent host and communicated well about the property condition due to rain and the possibility of getting in without any trouble. We’re really glad we went the extra distance from Sydney as the property was absolutely beautiful and we had the whole place to ourselves. Our dogs were able to play in the creek, which was close enough to listen to at night. Evenings spent around a fire and then the misty mornings turned into beautiful sunny days!

Do yourself a favour and book into this site for a stay. Lovely views over the property. A lovely quiet and peaceful location where the sounds of the birds, cicadas and frogs will be all you will hear. Steve is excellent to deal with and nothing was too much problem. He made the stay very easy. The security locking at the gate ensures peace of mind, and plenty of firewood at the woodpile for cutting meant a campfire was easy. With full mobile service this site is excellent for quiet peaceful escapes for those who are able to ‘work from home’. Will definitely be back for more ‘working holidays’.

Great property owners! Offered plenty of firewood and a portable toilet aswell. location was beautiful, nice hill views and a nice river. Plenty of open space and privacy. Only an hour from Port Macquarie. Perfect NYE camping trip :)

Had the pleasure of staying a few nights at The Creek campsite. Beautiful surroundings, peaceful, with the sounds of local wildlife and the water flowing the nearby creek to listen to. The site was excellent - gently sloping and well mown and maintained. Access was easy and secure with the keypad lock entry. Mobile reception (both Optus and Telstra) was excellent allowing me to work and video conference from my van. We found a secluded public swimming hole about 20 mins away to enjoy on the hotter part of the day. Steve was excellent to deal with. Highly recommend this location for a quiet and peaceful getaway😊

Off-grid camping - Highly recommend

I stayed at Mistan Valley Farm - The Creek Site recently for five days and found it to be exactly as described - a magnificent off-grid campsite so tranquil and private in a selectively cleared setting with lots of varieties of birds and natural wildlife. If you like camping with nature in a beautiful natural setting I highly recommend Mistan Valley Farm. Steve is a great communicator giving precise directions to his property ensuring you have easy access to your campsite.

We had the good fortune to stay at Mistan Farm last week. The Creek camp area was quiet and private with beautiful green grass and despite light rain each day, remained firm under foot. A huge wood pile provided firewood for our stay. We enjoyed walks around the property. Steve was a very kind and generous host and we look forward to staying again. A perect place to camp and close to home for us.

A hidden gem
Mistan Valley Farm - The Creek
WOW! This is one of the most beautiful properties we have stayed. This place is so peaceful and serene. All we could hear was the sound of the creek and the birds. If your needing a place to wind down and relax this is it. There are plenty of tracks to walk and explore or just take in the beauty of the tree studded hills. Communication with Steve was excellent, the instructions to find the place was easy. Will be coming back to this hidden gem. Thank you Steve for your welcome and sharing your paradise with us.

Could not have a better Easter... Husband, myself and our boys went for 2 nights.. took our bikes went for bike rides, seen the horses went for adventures around the water and then settled back with a glass of wine beside a cosy fire. So easy to get there, the PIN number pad to enter was super easy and Steve was a great host. We will return. Thanks Again Steve

We booked this site at the last minute, just before Easter weekend. We were looking for a site that was away from the hustle and bustle of Sydney. And Mistan Valley Farm was just what I was looking for. Check-in was a breeze with clear instruction from Steve. We headed straight to the camp and set up our camp at the designated site. The site was a large grassy area with a gentle slope. I often use my earplugs while camping but did not have to use them this time. All I could hear was the creek and birds during our stay. We were lucky to be the only campers there too! Some curious horses also welcomed us, and they were super friendly! We enjoyed our stay and will come back for sure. Thank you Steven for letting us stay at your beautiful property :)

Easy drive from oxley hwy to Mistan Valley Farm. Found camping area slight slope but ok for 20 ft van. Loved walks up ridges and small pockets of rain forest with good amount of bird life. Our stay private and quite. Loved the 3 days. Thanks Steve for sharing this spot.

Warmly greeted at the gate by our friendly host Steve. Our site had a gentle slope but easily managed even with a large caravan. Very quiet, peaceful & secluded stay.
