Escape the Hustle in Nellies Glen – Megalong Valley Before you book: We accommodate car campers and hikers. → Car camping bookings are limited to ensure guests enjoy a quiet stay without being impacted by others, and to reduce the impact on our roads and environment. Please ensure your vehicle has sufficient clearance for off-road access. → Hikers are almost always welcome. Hiking sites are for those walking the Six Foot Track from Katoomba or Jenolan Caves. Nellies Glen is a stop along the Six Foot Track, spanning the grassy flats of Megalong Creek that the locals (wombats) call home. This private campground is ready for your next getaway. Right among the Aussie scrub and surrounded by the escarpments of Narrowneck and Ngula Bulgarabang, you'll feel a million miles away — but you’re not. A 1.5-hour walk from Katoomba along the Six Foot Track, or a half-hour trip from Blackheath, will land you at this stunning spot in the Megalong Valley. Explore the Six Foot Track, Devil’s Hole, or other Narrowneck passes on foot, and find your own special slice of Megalong Creek for a refreshing dip. Sling up a hammock, watch the sunset over the escarpment, and see the stars fill the sky. If you’ve driven into the valley, be sure to check out the local wineries, restaurants, and tearooms. This laid-back property is all about privacy — allowing you to connect with your surroundings and respect the bush while having a great time. We’re a family-friendly property and love seeing kids and dogs running around — but we’re not the place for loud music or late-night parties. Exclusivity can be arranged for organisations such as schools, community groups, workshops, or low-key weddings. Otherwise, please note that we or other campers may be present in other areas of the property.

Choose a spot along the grassy flats by the river and spread out! The toilet is upstream, about 300m from the entry - you can pick if you'd like to be near or far from it. We stayed for an extended weekend. Such a beautiful property. Mike was really friendly and approachable. We had ours dogs, so set up camp in zone 1, which gave us great access to the creek. Kangaroos visit the property and there's plenty of wombat holes, we didn't see any though. Definitely worth a visit 😊

Spectacular cliffs surrounding the site. Beautifully quiet. Pretty creek, lovely drive in from Blackheath, fantastic and responsive host!

Brilliant, so tranquil and peaceful. Had the whole place to ourselves, abundant firewood for use in the provided fire pits. Would definitely recommend.

Quiet and very spacious with about four other campsites taken. It was a lovely campsite and will definitely book again! The family who owns the property were very friendly and happy to chat 😁🏕️

Mike and his young family are warm, welcoming hosts. They have a beautiful spot in the valley, great for relaxing by a Camp-fire or heading out for walks on the gorgeous nearby trails. It was lovely to listen to the creek bubbling by as we went to sleep each night. There were three groups very spread out when we stayed. It's a large open camp area and Mike is careful not to over fill it. We loved that our enthusiastic staffy was welcome too, she had a ball!
