Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Only 17 minutes to Canberra, this camp site gives you the best of both worlds. The Camp site has access to a large Dam, and an active creek. Explore the creek, bush walk, swim in the Dam or just sit back and enjoy the serenity. Camp site has no facilities so this is only suited to self sufficient campers with own facilities.This Rural camp site only 15 min out of Canberra and with 15A power available for an additional $10 per night (payment to be made on arival, subject to availability), is located in a private open paddock with pretty views across the hills and is located next to a Large Dam with access to a jetty and pontoon. Rural Campsite by a large Dam
Great spot for a few nights. A peaceful place to relax within 20-30mins of Canberra. We absolutely loved the animals - ducklings, hares, donkeys, kangaroos and alpacas! The donkeys were our favourite and we loved when they came to visit our camp site. Quinten’s instructions were very easy to follow, it was a bit of a squeeze getting our 25ft van down the track but we managed it. We’d definitely visit again to see our favourite donkeys!

Directions & communication was good. I put powered sites in my search filter and up come this park only to find that it was another $10 xtra 4power Thought it was expensive for a bit of off the grid dirt compared to powered sites with water at showgrounds that are $25-$30 on ave. Freeway noise was another factor.

Rural Campsite by a large Dam
This site was as described. It was nice to see the few donkeys, alpacas and kangaroos around the dam. It wasn't over-crowded, and Quinten's directions, signage and communication were excellent. The location was close enough to Canberra, Majura Park shopping, Gundaroo Inn and Bungendore (Woodworks Gallery & parkrun). However, there was constant traffic noise as the site was quite exposed and had barely any trees. The nearest public dump-point and drinking water facilities we found were at Queanbeyan Showgrounds.

Great spot to stay at. Just off the highway and close enough to the attractions in Canberra. The kids loved the animals and the goal post. The entry road was rough and tight for a large caravan, but we managed to get through. Having the option for 240 volt power was a great advantage. Quinten ‘s communication was good and he happily mowed around our site after asking him.

Easy camping under the stars

Magic spot overlooking the creek for a night in tents under the stars. Easy to find. Welcoming arrival by Quinten. The donkeys and alpacas came by to say hello as did a large mob of kangaroos. Easy , friendly and worth a visit. 20 mins from Canberra so we are likely to be back.
