Dalkeith Historic Farmhouse

Dalkeith in Neurea is an 1830's Cobb and Co Staging Post, comprising a colonial house with a verandah and a stone and rubble stable. There are corrugated iron outbuildings and the property is in near original condition, in the process of sensitive renovation. There are 500 year old River Red Gums and an ancient shearing shed. I am happy to conduct history tours for those who are interested. The camp sites are within the grassed farm yard, with some gravel. Some areas may become a little muddy with lots of rain. Wellington ( 17 kms north ) is one of the earliest "settled" towns of Colonial Australia. It has been home to the various clans of Wirradjuri people for thousands of years and is the meeting place of the Bell and Macquarie Rivers. Neurea was intended to be a township but was scrapped in favour of Wellington. The famous Welllington Caves are nearby, as is the Burrendong Dam, Wellington township for supermarkets and shops. The Dubbo Western Plains Zoo is 50 minutes away. Visit the historic towns of Dripstone, Stuart Town and Molong.
