With over 600 acres of Australian bush, our property is ideal for campers that want their own space. We are completely off-grid (no wifi to distract you) and we run off tank water (for this reason showers are only available for two hours in the evening). There are multiple camp sites on the property - some are close to hot showers and toilets, others are within a short walking distance. Some sites are perfect for our self sufficient campers who might want a nice private location and don't need access to amenities. There are two shared camp kitchen areas (with pizza ovens and bbqs). We have two amenities blocks with toilets and hot showers and two further compost toilets located at other sites. Campfires are permitted in designated areas (check with us when booking) and firewood can be added to your booking - we do require at least 24 hours notice if you want wood. There are lots of old-style games for the kids such as cricket, tennis, playground, bikes available, a swim in the dam and general country running around fun! Unfortunately we no longer have our flying fox, but there are plenty of other activities to keep you busy. We have some great bush walking areas where you might be lucky enough to see our resident wombats or our breeding pair of Wedge-tailed Eagles. The property dates back to the early 1900s and there are numerous historic buildings on the property. The earliest is a wooden slab hut that was built around the beginning of the 19th century - the Goulburn Penny Post newspaper, dated 3 December 1904 lines the walls of the hut. It also has a two shearing stand wooden shed built by Marcus Dawe in 1922. We will find you a great spot that suits your needs. It may be close to amenities or if you are self sufficient, you might like to go further back on the property and closer to the bush setting. Campfires are permitted in designated areas when restrictions aren't in place. Firewood can be added on to your booking as an extra - to give you an indication, one wheelbarrow load should last you one to two nights depending on when you start burning and when you go to bed! No fires in summer Over 600 acres of Australian bush, our property dates back to the early 1900s and there are numerous historic buildings on the property. This booking gives you exclusivity to the property. You will have the campsites and amenities to yourself for a private function. Swimming, toilets, showers, tennis, cricket, basketball, playground and two camp kitchens with bbqs and pizza ovens.  $1600 flat fee for up to 50 guests - additional guests can be added at an additional charge. Not available December/January school holidays, Easter, June or October long weekends. This was our second time staying at Boxgrove Campsites, and once again we had the most amazing time! The property is incredibly peaceful and beautiful, and Jol and Karen are truly the most incredible hosts. We stayed over Australia Day weekend in 40+ degree heat, and they went above and beyond by coming around with ice creams — complete with ice-cream truck music! It was an absolute highlight for the kids and such a thoughtful touch. They set you up with a beautiful campsite on their property, and there is so much for kids to explore — a golf course, tennis and basketball courts, playground, trampolines, and endless space to run around and adventure. The amenities are fantastic, with clean toilets, a shower, and a camp kitchen complete with BBQ and pizza oven. The dam was also perfect for cooling off in the heat. We truly can’t recommend Boxgrove highly enough. It’s a special place, and we’ll definitely be back for a third visit!

Our second stay on the farm and we love it even more! This is a wonderful place for a family to relax and unwind. The kids had an epic time swimming in the dam, riding bikes, playing in the playground and tennis court! Jol and Karen are exceptional hosts and always pop by to say hi with a big smile… even delivering ice creams during the heat! Won’t belong until we are back there again.

Lovely property that is well cared for by Jol and Karen. They are friendly, helpful and patient with kids and Jack Russells. We used as a base to visit friends in ACT, but would have also loved to just stay on the property, swim in the dam and bike ride for the four days.

We had the most beautiful stay on Karen and Jol’s property. They went above and beyond to make our night easy. We made wood fired pizzas in their ovens, swum in the dam, and spent the rest of the night spotting shooting stars. I wish we had more time here to make the most of the other things on offer, like the tennis courts and bikes. Such a special place, couldn’t recommend highly enough!

It’s always so peaceful at box grove and so much for the kids to do. We enjoyed spotting many different types of birds and waking up with kangaroos all around. The dam is great to cool down in on a hot summers day and at night the starts are spectacular. Karen and Jo are wonderful hosts often surprising us with some lovely treats.

Lovely hosts. Awesome directions better than any electronic version! Had the place to myself, was a bonus. Hot shower, felt safe even with the thunderstorm. Rixtas camp was a bonus having a BBQ and lighting. Great communication, Karen looked up the traffic jam on the Hume highway too..

Karen and Joel are lovely hosts - keen to make sure you know about all the great things you can do at their place and to point out all the useful facilities. There's lots of separated camp sites so you'll easily find a spot that suits you without being on top of other campers. The facilities are in good condition and always clean.

Back again after two years and had even a better experience than last time! The facilities have improved and the hosts ever so helpful! Please stay at Boxgrove if you can. Access is not too far from the Hume Hwy and its so calm and serene property. From tennis court to bicycles and camp kitchen, its perfect for kids and adults alike..

It was a lovely presented farm area. The camping spaces were spacious and the property looked amazing thanks to the recent weather. There was plenty to do but not enough time for us to enjoy it all. The host were great to talk with. I hope to return and explore all that is has when time permits. It is in the southern highlands and the weather decides the fate of your days.

Loved staying there,as they were very pleasing to be with. Most helpful to all your needs. They have a wide range of entertainment options across the board and their amenities were excellent. It's a nice place to be at despite the fact the the weather on the day was gross to say the least. They also have a children's playground.

At the start of winter we had the place to ourselves. The first thing that hit me was the silence, then the birdsong grew clearer. A dam full of fish, golf course, skippies and some beautiful points of heritage abound. It's not for the faint hearted in winter but if you're brave then you'll experience crisp mornings. Nearby towns of Yass, Gunning and Dalton. A longer drive to the capital. There's heaps to do onsite if you go with a group. Cricket, cycling, tennis, playground and walks to be had.

The open space and freedom of the property was awesome! We loved being able to let the dogs enjoy themselves and feel like we were in our own space. Jol and Karen were very accommodating and welcoming to the property and I'd love to go back again during the warmer months.

Another Fantastic Easter Weekend!

This was our third year staying at BoxGrove over the Easter long weekend, and once again it was an amazing experience. Karen and Jol are incredible hosts – always so warm and accommodating to our group. They genuinely go above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. The campground is peaceful and spacious, with well-maintained grounds and amenities that are always spotless. Karen even delivered us fresh baked treats during our stay. They also organised a disco night for the kids, which was an absolute hit and such a fun surprise. Already looking forward to next Easter!

I spent the weekend on sacred solo time and it was bliss. Went for a beautiful bush walk, raved in the middle of the fields, rode a bike around the land, swam in the dam, sun-baked on the grass, made my own fires and lay under the stars.

Our second time camping at Boxgrove. This time twenty of us. Ideal for large groups and plenty to do. No phone reception so the eleven teenagers played footy, tennis, golf, and Sang around the camp fire. The area is in bad drought currently so hopefully they get some rain soon

This is a beautiful spot with a large flat campsite area next to a small pond. Facilities were a 5-10 minute walk away (10 minutes for small legs!), but they were great with a large undercover area we used while it rained. However, as there is a charge per person, 1 night for a family of 4 (with 2 kids under 5 in one small tent) was much more expensive than we expected ($100 for 1 night). With facilities similar to some National parks campsite (a few flushing toilets a bit of a walk away, playground equipment, 2 undercover areas) I was expecting more like national parks prices (between $12-$40 a night).
