The site was lovely but to charge $60 per night (and more than $100 for the riverfront sites) for just a paddock that doesn’t even have a real toilet or running water is a bit of a price gouge. The pit toilets were a bit rustic for the price. But the river is gorgeous and the location is great, we loved the tree swing and being able to walk into town.

Perfect spot for travellers with pets and kids. Plenty of space and water activities - close to town if needed. Although the drop toilets on site are fine it’s Better suited for self sufficient set ups - especially if staying more than 2 nights. Will definitely be back. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

On arrival, the camp was not clearly sign posted and unfortunately I took the wrong driveway into the hosts personal property.
I couldn’t find any information of I was at the correct place..
Eventually the host came outside and gave me instructions on how to get to the campsite.
Lovely views of the hills and the farming property.

stayed for 1 night, lovely spot flat sites overlooking the river, plenty of room to spread out for such a busy time. Toilets need some improvement to make it a fantastic spot. But will use you again in the future if we are back that way

Great stay - fabulous fun at the river…just remember to bring your water shoes so your feet don’t get sore on the rocks. Used the kayak available! Wish we had remembered the fishing rods….lots of mullet jumping around.

Enjoyed our first Hipcamp in our JPod X. Had a great spot next to trees and loved hearing the birds. Lovely river frontage. Happy to come back again.

Great spot ..right by a beautiful river, lovely grassy camp sites. Well laid out, both too.y and semi private. Ben is a great host, easy to talk to and right near Bellingen town. Highly recommended

Beautiful location and very close to Bellingen town while still feeling a million miles away.
Great location! We booked about an hour before arriving. Ben was super helpful. Very family orientated. Toilets are supplied but if you have your own, I’d take it anyway. Dogs love it there

We had a beautiful stay here at Bellingen River Camp. The photos didn’t do justice for how breathtakingly beautiful this place is. We are looking forward to staying again one day.

Misleading website. Overgrown grass, about 200m walk to pit toilet through the grass. Pit toilet has a shower tent around it which is torn open which leaves you fully exposed. Couldn't see the river from campsite. We turned around and left, very disappointing.
We stayed at the end site had a beautiful river view. It was so peaceful and private and very relaxing. Its about a 5 minute drive to the heart of Bellingen. The only thing I wished the overgrown tracks were cleaned up with a whipper snipper so you can easily get down to the river without worried about snakes ..but my hubby took it on and had a good swim ...take your own firewood.

Basically an overpriced patch of grass. The riverside is blocked by trees so you don’t camp by the river and the next camp is extremely close. Toilet is a tiny shed with spiders and a wasp nest. Probably wouldn’t spend the money to stay here again. Not a super responsive host. The daughter met us as we came through the gate and kinda let us know where to go. Fairly close to town though but feels further away which is good if you wanted to walk to town. All in all just very expensive for what it is, I’ve stayed in way more beautiful and secluded free camps but it was last minute and we had our dogs on this trip.
Great spot to camp. We had our dogs and they loved it. Easy to find and an unreal place to wake up. Will be back!
This place is so good. We loved it and will be back. We cooled off in the beautiful river just metres from our campsite. Ben our host was really helpful. It’s so private but is literally 5 minutes from Bellingen for restaurants, coffee, supplies and cool shopping. A great spot!
Great spot to camp by the river or on the terrace. Bird life was outstanding with highlights being a grey goshawk, varied triller, tawny grassbird, red-backed fairywren, olive-backed oriole and many more.

We spent two nights here and it was flipping fantastic. We were right by the water and the gentle sounds of the water coming in with the tide was so relaxing. There was plenty of privacy and we had a tonne of space to ourselves.
One morning we hopped on a kayak and went across to the old butter factory for breakfast which was an unexpected and cool adventure.
We camped here in winter, and it was really really cold with a frost one morning, but coming here in summer would be so fun. there's a rope swing across the river in the deep section.
The camping is great, probably a bit overpriced for what it was, but we had a great time regardless.
Ben was a great host, and definitely loves a chat too so be ready lol.

We camped by the river, great few spots there to set up. Nice and quiet and PLENTY of space. Amenities do the job and the kids kayaks was a bonus - they had a great paddle on the river in the afternoon. All round great spot to stay close to Bellingen township and easy base to explore the area from. 100% recommend if you want wide open space next to the river and room for kids to run, we'll be back.
