Camping with the slugs!
Great campsite in the middle of the redwoods! Definitely lives up to the campsite’s name… it was great to be around the banana slugs! Cool composting put toilet that was clean. Outdoor sinks with potable water for teeth brushing and dishwashing. Large space to spread out, very quiet, and plenty of privacy. About a 10-15 minute drive to the town of Mendocino and about a 30 minute drive to Fort Bragg. Plenty of natural features to enjoy in the area and a lot to explore.

Slug Friends
We loved it! There were so many slug friends to share our time with! I enjoyed being able to cook our meals on the grill, always better over a fire. The beach is only a short drive away and there is a local grocery store for last minute essentials.
Thank you Nathan for hosting your beautiful land!

We really enjoyed camping at the baby banana slug farm! The campsite was beautiful, clean, and included a sink, a decent bathroom, and a fire pit. We purchased the firewood ahead of time and it was so worth it. Nathan dropped it off before we arrived and covered it with a tarp so it would stay dry. We never actually saw a baby banana slug, but perhaps it was the wrong time of year?

Redwood forest, quiet, private
Beautiful forest setting, tall redwoods, plus some eerie, picturesque, burned-out stumps that added mystique to the place. Very quiet at night; we could hear the waves and foghorn if the wind was blowing our way. And yes! banana slugs, both mornings! Host Nathan greeted us for a quick tour, then left us alone. Site #1 is fairly far away from main house, feels private. Each site has their own sink and pit toilet.

Family camping among the redwoods
Stayed at site 1. Beautiful space in the middle of some redwoods. Great set up for families with a sink with running water, an outhouse, a platform for a tent, and a large picnic table. Enough space for 2 tents. There’s a fire pit(ish) with firewood. Just bring some cash in small bills to leave for the wood. Very close to mendocino and some good hikes.

The space was nice but is smaller than they advertise and it’s close to the host’s home. Our group of 3 was sitting around the fire (host provides wood if you pay) chatting at a respectful volume and the host approached unannounced when it got dark and told us that we were being disrespectful. We moved to whispering and didn’t have any problems going forward, but that’s a major issue.

Very sad to have just left Baby Banana Slug Farm. Perfect campsite (site 1) with all the amenities—even a sink!—in the most beautiful redwoods. We loved the location as well, nestled in the trees but very close to the beach & Mendocino. We will be coming back!

Baby Banana Slug Farm was spectacular. My boyfriend and I stayed at camp #1, and it was everything we hoped for. Our privacy was well respected, and the space itself was the beautiful getaway that we needed. Nathan came down to supply the firewood, and was been helpful and communicative. We would love to come back sometime!

Kids and Banana Slugs
This was a great spot for my family. My two children 6/8 had the time of their lives running around the site. They hug out in the large hollowed tree and tried to find banana slugs daily. The sink, outhouse and fire pit were awesome. Thank you to Nathan for coming and saying hello and allowing us to stay on your land!

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at the baby banana slug property! The sink and outhouse were clean and greatly added to our experience. The property was beautiful, and Nate was helpful in checking in on us to make sure we had enough firewood. The property was easy to get to and the directions were clear.

Nathan is a terrific host and his Hipcamp was exactly what I was looking for - surrounded by beautiful redwood trees, private, and fully immersed in nature. Campfires are allowed and each site has its own bathroom/sink, which are huge bonuses. I would definitely come back here again.

Gorgeous land with very spacious camping area. We stayed in campsite #1 - there was enough room for multiple tents and felt secluded from the other campsite. There was running water, small bathroom, and a fire pit (option to have fire wood delivered.) Highly recommend

Camping with the slugs
Nathan’s campsite is lovely! We stayed at site #1 and loved how secluded it was. The big redwoods all around were so beautiful! You’ll have everything you need for a comfy stay - outhouse, running water, fire pit, and lots of banana slugs. There is a neighbor dog that might bark at you a bit, but he gave up pretty quickly. Directions through Google Maps were easy.

We had a perfect stay! The camp site has a sink, very clean out house, hose, fire pit and table. It has a few options for flat tent spots. It was private and very quiet, we didn’t see anyone other than the owner walking to check that we were settled in. Beautiful trees, and we only saw one slug. We will definitely be back!

We really enjoyed camping here! The campsite was secluded and well maintained. The hosts (Nathan and his daughter) were very welcoming and prompt in responding to our texts. They even provided us with a lot of firewood, at a nominal cost. Couldn’t have asked for more! Definitely recommend this place and plan on coming back here some day.

Such a magical place! Shilea welcomed us and gave us local hiking recommendations. If you want to see banana slugs you will not be disappointed. Facilities were great. I recommend campsite 1 with the large hallow tree. There is a nice picnic table.
