That doesn't mean we don't work hard...We ride ATVs, fish, work on the property and enjoy our solitude and privacy. Peace, tranquility, privacy, and a safe environment for your stay are a priority. Cajun retreat Campsite
2 sites · RVs2 acres · Prairieville, LAMy wife and I are native south Louisianians. I grew up fishing, trawling, catching seafood, hunting and skiing in Westwego. My wife grew up near New Orleans eating poboys and beignets. We moved to Prairieville 20 years ago. It’s just over an hour from New Orleans and our Bayou property is very similar to what we we accustomed to in Cajun country, Westwego. Learn more about this land: We own 2 acres of partially secluded property on Bayou Manchac. Our place is a genuine Cajun retreat inside and out. We’re operating one campsite and all 3 experience options at this time;. The site is on the Bayou; great for relaxing, bird and turtle watching, kayaking, etc. (There is a public boat launch if needed) Great place for adult only relaxation or for families. Grassy area with firepit for s’mores, archery equipment, etc. We’re close to Baton Rouge and LSU; also about an hour away from the New Orleans metro area. Authentic Cajun hosts lives in a unique A-frame on the property and can point you to swamp tours and seafood markets. We are lifelong locals with lots of knowledge of the area! We can interact with you as much or as little as you’d like. We love to cook and often share Cajun meals with our guests!. Quiet neighborhood for bike riding and walking.

Camp Topisaw
8 sites · Tents95 acres · Summit, MS95 acres on the beautiful Topisaw Creek. Here we've raised 5 kids and a multitude of dogs, cats and chickens and a small herd of pineywoods cattle. The woods are quiet and undisturbed , harboring native species like jack in the pulpit, trillium and Florida anise. The spring-fed (and thus always refreshing!) Topisaw Creek forms the eastern border of our property, so plan to spend time on the sandy beaches and rock bars soaking up the sun or hunting for rocks and fossils (petrified wood and arrowheads have been found here). Many folks also enjoy a leisurely float down the creek in inner tubes ('tubing') or in a kayak. (Please note that after heavy rains the creek rises to epic heights and is too dangerous to navigate.) Little to no light pollution makes for amazing stargazing!
