I love to meet new people who are traveling through my area! Learn more about this land: I'm not in the middle of nowhere, but my neighbors all have at least 3-5 acres. It's always quiet out here, except for the birds and occasional coyote in the distance. I have what Hipcamp calls a flexible cancellation policy. Simply cancel on the site 24 hours prior to your check in for a full refund.

Sundancer On The Brazos sits on Comanche Creek in an isolated forest on a 350 acre working cattle ranch with a quarter mile of river frontage! The Comanche were quite active up and down this part of the Brazos when the earliest settlers arrived around 1850, until the Comanches' eventual conquest by the Texas Rangers and their Colt pistols around 1870; we have found lots of flint and some arrowheads on high places here. Going further back in history, the Fuller's Folly River Ranch has an abundance of petrified wood, they say that if you have fossilized sea shells you were under water, but if you have petrified wood you had land creatures. Hunting for petrified wood is a fun adventure here. (But leave them for the next person to discover!) Weatherford is only 10 minutes away and Granbury is only 20 minutes away; both have great restaurants. And this close to Fort Worth (30min), you could actually commute and have a ranch to come home to at night--note the lower pricing mid week.

We have a 9-hole golf course, 18-holes if you ask one of the golfers. A bar is on premises for pool and darts. General Store and Grill all in Horseshoe Bend Country Club. Weatherford is the Cutting Horse Capital of the World. Enjoy our Sheriff Pose Rodeo, the Peach Festival. Downtown Weatherford is full of antique stores and once a month we have First Monday Trade Days. Texas Motor Speedway (NASCAR) is not far. We are a small park. The lots are very large at 100' X 50'. Our spaces are all covered, a blessing in the hot Texas summertime. We are across the street from the Brazos River. Campers do have river access with a dock for fishing a launching kayaks. . We offer shower and laundry facilities.

7 nights at Trickle Creek Ranch

Gary’s place was just right for our overnight stays. Super easy 20-minute drive to visit our kids and grandkids in Fort Worth. Gary was a great host, really enjoyed chatting with him and hearing a bit about the old dairy farm. Our two grandsons (3 and 5) stayed with us for a couple of nights and loved seeing the longhorns and exploring the property. We’ll definitely be back.

This was a wonderful spot to camp! We stayed at the Foxhollow site, and it was perfectly shaded with lots of flat ground for tents. The river access with the little beach was perfectly shaded for a relaxing day in the water. A truly great getaway!

Gipsy Moon was a great place for tent camping! The folks there are friendly and helpful, and the sites are lovely and clean. Generally, the campground was quiet and peaceful. We had two five-year-olds with us and they loved swimming in the river and petting all of the goats! We’d recommend, for sure.

I have a Ford Transit camper van, so I just needed a place to crash on the weekend away from the city. I really like that even though it feels I am away from the city there are stores and restaurants 10 minutes drive from the farm. I also appreciated they had a nice warm shower and a bathroom right by the area I parked. The fire pit is shareable, but it seems like no one cared for it, so I had it all for me 😅

This property is eclectic! They have plenty of sites to camp- all named accordingly, we stayed in Fox Hollow. It was such a cozy little site! There are restrooms and showers in the common area complete with goats and ducks! They have a water source and youre able to collect as needed. Amy has fire wood available and fruits and veggies! Don't forget the camp kitten!! I feel like people are permanent residents here-a tiny home community and you may need all wheel drive if it rains. We would go back for sure, I want to venture out again and stay at the site by the river. Everyone kept to themselves and it was so peaceful and quiet--nature sounds, goats and ducks...it was great!

This place is really family friendly—particularly for those that want to go camping but don’t want to do their business outside and want to shower. The animals are the best part imo. We got to pet the goats and even had some of the kids (goat babies) lay in our laps. The site is very clean and the local community is very friendly.

We had a great time at Amy’s place. We stayed at the primitive camp site, but everything was very close by and convenient. They had everything you needed on the property. The animals that lived there were awesome, especially Dirk the goat! I could have just watched the baby goats playing for hours! There were so many songbirds, and the stargazing was great. There were kayaks for rent, that could use a little updating, but while they wouldn’t be for a serious kayaker, (who would have their own gear), they were probably good enough for a novice to play around with. New paddles and seats would be nice. All in all it was a great stay, and I would definitely stay here again!

Located at the end of the road. There is over 20 acres. Some cleared and some still in original woods. Trees, grass and deer everywhere. There is over a quarter mile of Brazos riverfront property although you cannot get to the river on all of it due to it being in its natural state. There is a beach at the main camp that provides easy in and out of the water. the water depth varies with the rainfall but is usually between 2-4 feet deep.

In 2013, we bought our 13 acres from a larger parcel of land that had been owned and farmed by the Snider family for 150 years. (Note that we live on Snider Lane). The Sniders played an important part in the development of our town, Lucas, and surrounding schools. The rest of the land has been sold to two families, and all three purchasers (that includes us!) are establishing small family farms. Hurray! Plus the Snider's old house and barn next door are being renovated by the new owners! Since 2013, we have brought in water and electricity to the land, built fences, a house and several barns. We have a flock of chickens, a bunch of loud, nosey Nubian dairy goats, 2 cats and 2 dogs. We farm organic vegetables, and have planted some fruit trees. We are committed to conservation of our land and the wildlife that call it home, and are working to restore our wildflower meadow (location of the campsite) to original prairie state. Come see us; we'd like to share it all with you! Learn more about this land: Come to Fieldsong Farm, absorb the peace and serenity, and leave refreshed! Stake your tent on the edge of our tallgrass wildflower meadow, and immerse yourself in diversity where the city ends and the country begins. Enjoy a fire in the fire ring from your seat on a "porch" swing as the sun goes down and the wildlife begin their nightly symphony.
