Our family moved from Metro Detroit area here to Mecosta in 2019 in search of a more fulfilling life. We have found just that with this beautiful property and in our homesteading and campground adventure. We were drawn to a calming and grounding energy in these trees; a feeling echoed by many who visit here. We expect you'll leave here feeling inspired and rejuvenated.Learn more about this land:Come enjoy 30 private acres of rolling forest with lots of Beech and Oak trees. We have two community camping areas, each large enough for up to 20 people. We also have a few more intimate spots for complete seclusion. These spots are suitable for about 4-6 people.  All rustic camping.  Toilets and handwashing stations on site. Extra vehicles, trailers, etc. can be parked in our gravel lot.  Ice and firewood available for sale on site.  The land borders 6000 acres of public wilderness including Martiny Chain of Lakes. Lots of hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, and river floating nearby. Feel free to ask us anytime before or during your stay for our favorite spots, or if we can offer our services to help accommodate any special off-site trips you'd like to plan.As your host, we strive to provide a "home away from home" feel when you visit.    We have a small hobby farm up front by the house, where you're welcome to come visit our goats and chickens. They are the friendliest goats you'll ever meet!  We often have farm fresh eggs for sale and may have other various items available to rent.  Such as a generator, shade tent, river tubes or a canoe.  Need anything to make your stay more enjoyable?  Just ask!

The spot is real easy to get too. Very private. Set up is great. Fire pit and picnic table available. Space to pull in and out easily. Lots of animal sound to relax too!

The campsite was incredibly private, surrounded by nature, and had beautiful trails right from the site. Perfect for relaxing, disconnecting, or just enjoying quiet time in nature. The host was also great — communicative and welcoming. We’d absolutely come back!

Perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. The river is beautiful to watch, lots of wildlife and fantastic sunsets right in front of you. You are able to fish right from your site. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. This will be our annual fishing spot.

Quiet spot located up off the street with a peak a boo view of the water. Level gravel. Nice concrete pad with table and Fire pit. The road in is a little rough, so go slow. Full hook up is an always a plus!

From the campsite, facing west, the only open sky lets in a little sun in the afternoon.

Weekend Trip to Verity acres

The host greeted me on arrival while filling water dishes for dogs along the drive - very cool. He pointed out walking paths and made sure I had his number. You drive nearly a mile into the woods to reach the site — total privacy and solitude, 10/10. Quietest spot I’ve camped at all year. Any distant sounds are rare, brief, and far off. Most of the time, it’s completely silent — even wildlife was minimal when I stayed. You can turn in a full circle and see nothing manmade except the picnic table. No people, wires, lights — just woods. Site is shaded with some sunlight, has a solid picnic table, a well-placed firepit, and a generous stack of firewood. This site would be perfect for anyone looking to fully unplug, be alone, or just enjoy the silence.

Weekend Trip to Verity acres

I had a very relaxing time tent camping on Dennis’s site. Very remote for those looking for complete alone time. I felt safe the whole time which is important for any solo campers. There is a clearing by the site for fantastic star gazing, plenty of wood for fires and a nice picnic table. Lots and lots of bugs and black flies, so bring the DEET and I had success with some insect repellent incense sticks I placed around. I highly recommend this site for anyone looking to be off the grid for a bit. Thank you, Dennis.
