The farm ground campsites are for those who are looking to escape with no power, no water and no facilities and little mobile coverage if you are not with Telstra. Campers need to be fully self contained.
We are a biodynamic winery and farm, our vines were already established when we purchased the land just over 3 years ago and some of the first planted in the region. The farm is a working farm and well.. a massive work in progress. Our passion is the land, the environment, making good wine, listening to music, eating good food and sharing all of this with our community.
We are opening up our farm to share with like minded souls who share the same passions as us (our community). Over the years we have started to learn about the secret spots on our property. The ones which are secluded, capture beautiful pieces of light at certain times of the day, where the black cockatoos love to rest on the branches of the gum trees, the areas where weeping peppermints create a haven and the frequencies of the frogs elevate at certain times of the year and times of the day are so loud that you cant hear yourself think. As a result we have several spots on our property we would love to share with like minded people who have a love for nature, music and wine.
PLEASE BE AWARE WE HAVE NO FACILITIES such as toilets, showers and water.
Our region 'Margaret River' is famous for wine but there are so many other things that make this place special. A wild but beautiful coastline uninhibited by people, karri forest, caves, mountain bike trails and a 120km coastal walk. We are also known for surfing and close by are a number of world famous breaks including Surfers Point which is located 20 minutes from the farm. Closer to the farm you can enjoy a short walk to a beautiful winery called SI Vintners, drive to The Berry Farm or the quirky town of Witchcliffe. At Witchcliffe you will find Darnell's General Store which has a gift shop (The Shed), cellar door (Amato Vino), coffee shop (Witchy Brews) and fantastic pub (Dear Darnells), newly opened McHenry Hohnen Vintners wine bar and vintage stores which it has become renown for.

68-acre peaceful retreat nestled within State Forest, a short drive from Donnybrook. We are one of only two properties in this small, isolated pocket.
We have five sites available for self-contained campers. We do not offer any facilities. Self-contained campers/vans only, you MUST bring everything with you including a toilet.
Stay here and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of your surroundings over a glass of wine from one of the local wineries or head out and explore the beautiful Geographe Wine Region.
Redgum Hill
Nestled in amongst the red gums on an elevated position near the edge of the property, you will be camping next to the old hay shed. The birdlife here is amazing, with red tailed cockatoos and honeyeaters amongst others frequently visiting.
Please take care whilst exploring around this area, there are some deep rabbit warrens around the hay shed, which can be hidden in the grass in winter.
Valley Vista
Valley Vista is a private and secluded haven, on an elevated spot backed onto state forest looking down over the valley, with arguably the best views of the farm.
Creek Junction
Creek Junction is a peaceful area by the creek line nestled in amongst the trees, where the gully running down the hill meets the creek. One of our three dams is hidden in amongst the tea tree bushes nearby. You can see the house from this campsite, but it is far enough away that privacy is not an issue.
Please be aware, all of our dams are seasonal and will be very low in the summer months. We also recommend that you do not swim in them.
Hidden Corner
Hidden Corner is situated at the back corner of the property. It is the most isolated of the three campsites with views of the open paddock and across the valley in front of you and state forest behind.
Shed Pad (No longer has bathroom facilities)
Shed Pad is our only powered site (15 amp) situated next to the main shed. It has a patio area with a table and 4 chairs (an extra 2 can be provided if required). WIFI is also available for an additional fee. It is an intimate site, perfect for one large caravan or two small caravans and a couple of swags/tents.
It overlooks neighbouring paddocks and state forest. it is at the entrance to the property next to the main shed and in close proximity to the house.

Our first Hipcamp stay. Really easy to find and great communication. Perfect location near town but also completely tucked away in a beautiful vineyard with lots of wildlife and lovely pool for swimming. Easy for our rented self contained camper to park up. Thanks so much, would not hesitate to recommend.

Dawn is a very friendly and warm-hearted host. Creek Junction is a beautiful spot with morning sun and plenty of places to sit in the shade of the trees. The fresh eggs from Dawn’s chickens were delicious. The information folder included useful details about the surrounding area and helpful tips about Amber Ridge Estate, and the option to donate empty 10‑cent containers to the local fire brigade is a wonderful idea. The neighbouring sheep belonging to Dawn and Mick, as well as the many birds — especially the black cockatoos — are truly delightful. We look forward to returning someday with our campervan.

Great directions and map. Great to have water hookup. No water in the river though so riverside was really bush side. We were very close to the cows which in some ways was nice but the flys made it impossible to be outside and a bit smelly. Riverside probably better at different time of year.

Everything from booking, to arrival and instructions for arrival, and check out was smooth and easy. The hosts very kindly allow you to come stay on their land, and respect your privacy during your stay. The space was decent size and well kept. Close to many amazing places to visit. We’ll 100% be back to stay again.

Lovely quiet spot on a beautiful farm. We stayed on a very large plot which was unexpected. Much much more room than we needed but still a very welcoming sight as it means you are not packed in like a tin of sardines. Very quiet, peaceful site I would recommend to anyone to head there if you want an unbothered trip.

We really enjoyed our stay at this camp - it just may have gone to the top of our favourites list ! It is just so peaceful and relaxing, listening to the cicadas and birds, with the occasional sheep. Beautiful spot we had near the creek bed, next to the trees. Great spot for our dog as well. Was private and perfect for us. Mick is very friendly and warm, and also provided a great folder (returnable) with all the local attractions around the area. Brilliant. Short drive to Capel and Donnybrook, and a nice drive to Forrest Beach for some saltwater therapy. Definitely recommend a stay at Amber Ridge. We will be back for sure!

When to go
The Margaret River region's relatively mild climate makes it a pleasure to visit any time of year, though winter (June through August) can be chilly and wet. Summer (December through February) brings pleasantly warm-to-hot days that are best for enjoying the beaches and surfing, while the crisp days of spring (September through November) are ideal for viewing the colorful wildflowers that bloom around the area. The region has the longest whale-watching season in Australia. You can spot migrating humpback, southern right, and occasional blue whales from June through August in Flinders Bay, Augusta, and from September to early December in Geographe Bay, Busselton.
Know before you go
- There are limited local bus services between Margaret River, Augusta, and Busselton: Renting a car is the most convenient way to travel.
- As a major tourist center, you’ll find plenty of places to stock up on supplies in Margaret River.
- Entry fees apply at many parks in Western Australia. An annual park pass can save you money if you plan to visit a few.
- As the region is often busy with tourists, especially in summer, it’s a good idea to make reservations in advance.
