Just 1 hour from Perth, Harmony Retreat is a conscious camping space situated on 25 acres at the foothills of the Darling Range Escarpment just 10-15 minutes from Pinjarra and Dwellingup, 7 minutes from the southwest highway, and 3 minutes from Pinjarra-Williams Road. It's an easily accessible and picturesque private property with approximately 7 acres of forest, flushing toilet, hot outdoor shower, a winter creek, a swimmable spring-fed dam, and an abundance of bird and wildlife, nestled between cattle farms in the heart of the Peel region. There are friendly free-ranging chickens and Guinea fowl, a mischievous mini pig, friendly goats, sheep, and a family dog on site. The owners Michelle, Troy, and Carolyne live and work onsite (this is a working farm). THIS IS NOT A PLACE TO BOOK IF YOU INTEND TO PARTY. The camping area is easily accessed by most vehicles. There is a hot water outdoor shower and toilet available to use and within walking distance of each site. CHILDREN - The dam on the property is currently unfenced and has steep sides when the water line is low, therefore this property is not recommended for those with small and wandering children. We also asked that older children are supervised, so as not to vandalise property, nature, gardens and fire-pits (this has been a problem in the past). Friendly dogs are welcome, however, must be kept on a leash at all times, due to free-ranging chickens, livestock and wildlife on the property. There are no cooking facilities available. Therefore, you will need to be completely self-sufficient including cooker, kettle, esky, etc, and also bringing your own drinking water as the water from the taps comes from our spring-fed dam. We do ask that you follow local fire regulations with no outdoor open flames during fire bans. All rubbish and waste needs to be taken with you. However, Peppa the Pig will always appreciate your veggie scraps. Fires are permitted in designated fire pits during fire season. Anyone found having a fire during FIRE BANS will be reported to authorities and asked to leave the property immediately (we need to use firm words around this, as bushfire destroys homes and endangers lives). The instructions were clear, easy to find, very private and a lovely surprise to find a brand new kitchen shower, toilet and laundry facilities to use. Great also if your self sufficient but if your tenting it the facilities are terrific. If travelling with a dog, beware its snake territory and dont forget your fly net like I did Thank you Lindsay for allowing me to stay at your patch of heaven by the Murray river

It’s surrounded by nature in every direction, birdsong in the mornings, peaceful bush walks just steps away, and a real sense of calm throughout the whole property. I had an awesome time at this caravan park — easily one of the better ones I’ve stayed at. The facilities were clean and well maintained, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the whole place had such a relaxed, welcoming vibe. The sites were spacious, the amenities spotless, and the location was perfect for exploring the area. You can tell they really care about keeping everything in great condition. The paddock site is well cleared and is easy to find a level spot for a van. We were able to cook our dinner over the fire pit. Toilets and showers are very clean and communications are very prompt and friendly. Highly recommend.

We spent two nights at Rose’s Reserve and couldn’t have been happier with our stay. From the moment we arrived, the sense of peace and space was incredible. Surrounded by beautiful bushland and an abundance of birdlife, it felt like our own private nature retreat. The campsite itself is thoughtfully laid out — spacious, clean, and well cared for. Having a flushing toilet and hot shower was such a luxury, and the little camp shed with a potbelly stove, BBQ, and table added a lovely communal touch without taking away from the quiet, secluded feel. Evenings by the fire under a sky full of stars were absolute magic, and we loved waking to the sound of kookaburras in the morning. It’s close enough to Perth for a weekend getaway but feels wonderfully remote once you’re there. Our hosts were friendly, welcoming, and clearly passionate about maintaining this special place. Everything about our stay felt relaxed, easy, and connected to nature. We left feeling recharged and already planning our next visit. Rose’s Reserve is a little gem — perfect for anyone wanting a peaceful escape with just the right mix of comfort and wilderness. 🌿🔥✨

We loved camping at Rose's reserve. A hot shower and flushing toilet on site means you don't need to go to all the hassle of the self contained setup. Very private and a few walk trails to take with the dog. Delicious farm eggs as well.

Where to go

Mandurah, Yunderup & Pinjarra

A camper’s (or glamper’s) dream, there’s no end of things to do in Mandurah, from relaxing around Dolphin Quay to kayaking up the Harvey Estuary to crabbing, hiking, or hitting up the golf course. Accommodation options are just as varied, with everything from Mandurah coastal holiday parks to country chalets and riverfront campsites with jumping pillows. A short drive southwest of Mandurah, both Yunderdup and Pinjarra also offer great campgrounds and relaxed, country-town vibes.

Herron Point, Lake Clifton & Lake Preston

Follow Old Coast Road south from Mandurah and you’ll soon come upon a series of limestone-shored lakes. Running parallel to the coastline, Lake Clifton is probably the best-known, with the funky thrombolite reef bringing visitors from miles around. If you prefer to set up camp around Old Coast Road there are plenty of options, too, including campsites on Lake Preston (suitable for motorhomes, campervans, and camper trailers), and a bush campground in Yalgorup National Park.

Dwellingup

Just over half an hour east of Mandurah, Dwellingup is both the Peel Region and Western Australia’s outdoor adventure capital, with world-class mountain bike tracks, rafting, hiking, and Lane Poole Reserve and the Hotham Valley Railway right on its doorstep. A popular getaway spot, accommodation options range from family-friendly caravan parks to campsites in the national park and luxury hideaways just a short stroll from town.

When to go

A popular destination year-round, Mandurah has plenty to offer, whatever the weather. While summer is the most popular month for campers, who come in hoards to check out the canal Christmas lights and stay for the beaches, it can get a little toasty. If the heat isn’t your thing then spring and autumn are great times to visit—with the flowers and the leaves both putting on seasonal shows in neighboring Dwellingup.
