Just 1 hour from Perth, Harmony Retreat is a conscious camping space situated on 25 acres at the foothills of the Darling Range Escarpment just 10-15 minutes from Pinjarra and Dwellingup, 7 minutes from the southwest highway, and 3 minutes from Pinjarra-Williams Road. It's an easily accessible and picturesque private property with approximately 7 acres of forest, flushing toilet, hot outdoor shower, a winter creek, a swimmable spring-fed dam, and an abundance of bird and wildlife, nestled between cattle farms in the heart of the Peel region. There are friendly free-ranging chickens and Guinea fowl, a mischievous mini pig, friendly goats, sheep, and a family dog on site. The owners Michelle, Troy, and Carolyne live and work onsite (this is a working farm). THIS IS NOT A PLACE TO BOOK IF YOU INTEND TO PARTY. The camping area is easily accessed by most vehicles. There is a hot water outdoor shower and toilet available to use and within walking distance of each site. CHILDREN - The dam on the property is currently unfenced and has steep sides when the water line is low, therefore this property is not recommended for those with small and wandering children. We also asked that older children are supervised, so as not to vandalise property, nature, gardens and fire-pits (this has been a problem in the past). Friendly dogs are welcome, however, must be kept on a leash at all times, due to free-ranging chickens, livestock and wildlife on the property. There are no cooking facilities available. Therefore, you will need to be completely self-sufficient including cooker, kettle, esky, etc, and also bringing your own drinking water as the water from the taps comes from our spring-fed dam. We do ask that you follow local fire regulations with no outdoor open flames during fire bans. All rubbish and waste needs to be taken with you. However, Peppa the Pig will always appreciate your veggie scraps. Fires are permitted in designated fire pits during fire season. Anyone found having a fire during FIRE BANS will be reported to authorities and asked to leave the property immediately (we need to use firm words around this, as bushfire destroys homes and endangers lives). A great property to reconnect with country Please note, to get to the campsites there is a farm track and for most, a creek crossing. We recommend 4WD or SUV to access ALL campsites. There are horses and Scottish Highland cattle that usually greet you near the main entrance, and sheep and cattle graze the hill country and surrounds. Plenty more for nature lovers here, including red-tailed cockatoos that flock to the gully to feed on the Marri trees, plus many other birds. The resident Wedge-tail eagles soar above making the most of the thermals created from the hills and the local kangaroos Dogs are welcome but must remain on leads at ALL times as this is a working farm. The property comes with its own composting toilet and hot outdoor shower, gas cooker and pot belly stove. Other things to note Moonbeams Yurt is situated at the bottom of a 1 acre property, on a large 48sqm decked area. The yurt is 20sqm in size and the composting toilet and shower are within 10 steps from the yurt entrance. The hot water shower is an outdoor shower with a privacy screen. There is NO power at all, but 1 battery powered light is available, and there is a basic gas cooker provided. There is no refrigeration. Parking is at the top of the property and guests will have to walk down a partially sealed path to arrive at the entrance to the yurt, so good mobility is needed. You will need to bring in refrigeration/Eski, lights and basic cooking camp ware. A wheelbarrow can be provided to get gear from car to yurt. A Double bed is provided. Optional extras are fresh bedding. The pot belly stove is great for the winter, and timber is provided for cold nights. We do not recommend booking during our hottest months, unless you love the heat. This property is great for backpackers or people wanting to see the sites of Perth and surrounds. The train line is close by for people who do not have a car. There are many walks and states forests in the area. We have a two night minimum stay.

We stayed on lakeside camp 3. It is exactly as in the photo. We sat there with drinks both mornings to listen to the life on the lake. So many birds and a pair of Whistling kites living in one of the trees. Paul was a very friendly host. There are about a dozen free range chooks wandering about and they generally just hung out with us. We also wandered down to the wetland area to spot more birdlife. Was a lovely peaceful stay. The camp site is flat and large with a firepit provided during camp fire season. Would definitely recommend.

A peaceful getaway, lots of birds, some making nests in the hollows of dead trees which was great to watch. His alpacas, sheep and emu are a joy to see. This is the second time we’ve stayed at Herron Farmstay, last time was at his old location. Paul is working hard to make subtle changes to his new campground for the benefit of all, but keeping it as natural as possible for campers to enjoy. His directions were spot on & he was super helpful when we got in a spot of bother with the caravan on site.

Amazing views across the seasonal wetlands, nesting swans and wildlife a plenty. Wedgetail Eagles, Whistling Kites and White Bellied Sea Eagles.

Our campsite near the lake was superb. It provided a lovely view, privacy and a chorus of sounds during the night and early morning. Surrounding us was open farmland, with another camper of in the distance, with their own fantastic view of the expansive farmland. A small part of the rack was a wee bit challenging and fun, after a recent downpour of heavy rain, but Paul is well advanced in his plans to negate any issues accessing the property. In fact, we spent some time chatting with Paul one morning and you can't help but be excited by the plans he has in place. And more about the environment and improving what's there, as opposed to more camping sites. It's no small job, but the passion he shares in infectious. In the distance are herds of cattle, an emu, some lamas, chickens and lots of birdlife, and swans and ducks on the lake. Mobile reception for both Optus and Telstra wasn't an issue. Flat and level land is nice to set-up on and you need to be fully self sufficient. A nice 30-40 minute drive to Lake Clifton, Mandurah, Pinjarra etc, made it an ideal base. But you could quite easy, not move at all, and just enjoy the peace and quiet without a bother. A campfire with plenty of wood was a bonus. We were so impressed, we booked for another trip in a few weeks time

3 nights at Freedom Farmstay - Baldivis Rural

An AMAZING place to set up for a few nights. The camp area is a spacious and lush green paddock visited by sheep, chooks and a very friendly dog, Rusty. The host was so friendly. She popped by to welcome us, allowed us to forage for fire wood and even bought a baby sheep over for the kids to pat and me to snuggle. The location is great, very central to the city but without all the chaos. We looked forward to coming back every afternoon after our days of exploring. We all loved this spot. It was excellent.

An absolute Gem of a camp spot, beautiful and well managed. Even though Deb was unable to meet us on arrival due to work/farm commitments , very well scripted instructions on arrival process and location of camping site. Love this place and will sure to be back ....
