Weekend Trip to Cooinda Burrong Scout Camp

Beautifully well maintained camp area, spaced well apart from others, nice toilet/ shower block, really quiet, only 4 other groups in the whole site over ANZAC weekend. Phone service was patchy, when it worked it was good, but otherwise a dead zone. Easy to find and get to. Would come again!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Happy Wanderers Resort! Phill was incredible host — warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about sharing their beautiful piece of land with visitors. What stood out the most about their property was the peaceful, spacious setup nestled right at the base of the stunning Grampians. The campgrounds were thoughtfully maintained, with plenty of flat, grassy areas to pitch a tent or park a camper. Each site felt private and well-spread out, surrounded by nature and offering breathtaking views of the mountains at sunrise and sunset. We loved how close it was to hiking trails, waterfalls, and local attractions, yet it still felt like a hidden retreat away from the crowds. Waking up to birdsong and ending the night under a spectacular starry sky made it truly magical. The facilities were clean and convenient, with good access to water and basic amenities. If you’re looking for a peaceful, authentic camping experience in the Grampians with genuinely lovely hosts, Happy Wanderers Resort is a perfect choice. We’ll definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Yarriambiance

We loved our stay at the Yarriambiance creekside deluxe campsite! The campsite was very well equipped with a bbq, sink, electricity, hot water etc, and only a short walk up the driveway to the ensuite. Not to mention all the beautiful little luxurious touches like the hammock, fairy lights and swing set! Such a serene location, it was magic waking up to the sounds of birds each morning, and watching the stars in the sky at night. A highlight of the trip was getting to feed the resident camels - such cool animals! We will definitely be planning to come back to this little slice of paradise.

Yarriambiance was the perfect balance of bush camping and creature comforts, ideal for a family gathering of all ages. Lots of thoughtful additions to the site to make it fun for all. We would definitely stay here again!

We arrived a day early and David went out of his way to accommodate us. The place was easy to find. The setting was beautiful. There were cows, alpacas, geese and Bailey the dog who often hung around. He was more interested in the kids. He did not pay us much attention. There were various spots to set up with plenty of room between campers. Not much noise, the grass was green.

Really beautiful, serene grounds. Amenities are basic and probably best to bring your own toilet paper to be safe. Also check for bull ant nests before setting up. Access with a 2WD was no problems. Good value camping, off the beaten track.

1 night at Fulham Homestead

We had an awesome time here. It is located in a beautiful spot right on the river and you are surrounded by wildlife. My favourite was the geese and my kids loved visiting the cows and the alpaca's. It is easy to find and David is friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend visiting and we would definitely go back.

Weekend Trip to Mount Yulong

Loads of clear space to camp under a starlit sky. A paddock full of sheep, cattle and kangaroos. Plenty of firewood to keep you warm during the night. Daniel was very accomodating, gave us great recommendations on spots to consider setting camp. Great place to stay and support the rural community and farmers.

What a treat this stay was—like stumbling across a little piece of paradise that you wouldn’t usually get access to. The riverfront space is absolutely stunning, with lush green grass and the most gorgeous, postcard-perfect view. It was so quiet and peaceful—just the kind of place your soul can take a deep breath. Wandering around the farm was a delight. The geese were cackling, the alpacas were doing their quirky thing, and the miniature cows had that funny way of staring you down—such character! Every little detail added to the charm of the stay. After just one night, it felt like we’d been away for three—totally refreshed and recharged. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. David was a thoughtful, kind, and easygoing host, full of great local tips and genuinely caring that we had a good stay. And Bayley, the visiting dog, completely stole our hearts! So gentle, friendly, —added that extra special touch of warmth and joy. We’re already planning our return. It’s the kind of place that stays with you. Thank you, David , for such a memorable experience!
