Our property, "Seven Hills Tallarook", sits high above Tallarook with deep valleys and high peaks, just over one hour North of Melbourne's CBD. The property is 600 acres of thick Victorian bush and farmed paddocks. We have a wide range of hobby farm animals - pigs, sheep, alpacas, chickens, ponies, a donkey, along with commercial heard of South African Boer Goats. As night falls, the wildlife come out to play - kangaroos, rabbits, deer and wallabies. Internally, we have in excess of 10 kilometers of roads within the property, the majority being 2WD accessible (weather conditions apply). There are parts of the property which are only 4WD accessible. Our campsites are placed to allow you to be as isolated as possible - away from other campers (you may see others as you drive past, or they drive past you). At some of our bush sites, you will be able to see other campers, but they are not close by. Additionally, we anticipate our Fire Danger Period for the 2025/2026 Summer Season will commence in the coming weeks. We have not toggled the Fire Ban on as we do still allow campfires, however campers MUST adhere to CFA guidelines at all times. On days of Total Fire Ban (TFB), no fires, including gas stoves can be lit outdoors. In event of the TFB toggle needing to be used on Hipcamp, this will advise all guests booked on that day and to all future guests. We will toggle it off once the TFB is removed. Furthermore, we reserve the right to ask you not to light a fire regardless of TFB status if we feel weather conditions are unsafe, especially the wind element. We cannot plan the weather and the request to not light your campfires will most likely be on the day and we will advise as such. Our interest is with your safety, our neighbors and our property and our family.

In spring wildflower walks on the property are a highlight but it's enjoyable to explore all year round. The property is a tranquil haven for those looking to enjoy peace and privacy whilst great coffee, food, wineries, sights and shopping are only ten minutes away. We live on the property in an off grid solar house we have built ourselves.

Many people commented they would love to do that, which gave us the idea of sharing our amazing journey with others. Our camping area is a lot more comfortable than we endured with a well set up camp kitchen, green lawns and friendly animals all in one area. Our mascot, "Lucky lamb", is an attraction all of her own and who else can say "Kevin bacon" lives here! Our farm stay offers a large grassed camping area with camp kitchen. We are located within easy driving distance of Greens lake and the Waranga basin for fishing, boating and swimming activities and only 15km from Rushworth and the historic Whroo township. Campers are welcome to join us as we feed the animals. Fires and pets allowed (read Listing rules). There is only one toilet and one shower available, it is recommended that campers are self sufficient

It has a huge hall, kitchen, toilets and showers, and a huge oval. It even has a little lounge area. The oval is the same dimensions AS THE MCG! The site can accommodate up to 30 campers, and you'll have full use of the hall and all facilities. An amazing place for large groups to hold events, and gatherings and only an hour from Melbourne. Enjoy all the area has to offer, and come back to your own paradise in the bush. Wake up to roos on the oval and enjoy a barbie with your group. Ellesmere Park Farm Stay was inspired by our trip following the stock routes of NSW by horse drawn vehicles. Many people commented they would love to do that, which gave us the idea of sharing our amazing journey with others. Our camping area is a lot more comfortable than we endured with a well set up camp kitchen, green lawns and friendly animals all in one area. Our mascot, "Lucky lamb", is an attraction all of her own and who else can say "Kevin bacon" lives here! Our farm stay offers a large grassed camping area with camp kitchen. We are located within easy driving distance of Greens lake and the Waranga basin for fishing, boating and swimming activities and only 15km from Rushworth and the historic Whroo township. Campers are welcome to join us as we feed the animals. Fires and pets allowed (read Listing rules). There is only one toilet and one shower available, it is recommended that campers are self sufficient

The Korweingy Recreation Reserve is a wonderful country hall and oval. It is 12 minutes from Daylesford and in the heart of the Wombat State Forest. It has a huge hall, kitchen, toilets and showers, and a huge oval. It even has a little lounge area. The oval is the same dimensions AS THE MCG! The site can accommodate up to 30 campers, and you'll have full use of the hall and all facilities. An amazing place for large groups to hold events, and gatherings and only an hour from Melbourne. Enjoy all the area has to offer, and come back to your own paradise in the bush. Wake up to roos on the oval and enjoy a barbie with your group. Karen and David's home at Lalgambook Retreat is magical. Nestled in a valley adjoining old gold mining settlements and the Dry Diggings section of the Great Dividing Trail it's a haven for anyone that loves nature, walking or just relaxing in a peaceful and tranquil environment where flora and fauna abound. Directions were perfect and access to the property easy with a little care. The final section of the descent into the valley is a reasonably steep but well formed drive and we managed it easily with our 8m 3.2t caravan and Landcruiser. The waterside site is easy to reverse into, is treed but with plenty of sun for solar power, and overlooks a large dam with a swimming platform. Karen and David have provided everything to make a stay more comfortable - bathroom with warm showers, bore water at the site for washing and a fire pit. We loved our 2 night stay here and could have stayed longer to take in more of the local walking. We walked to the nearby Chocolate Mill for coffee and visited the Daylesford Market and a local winery for lunch. A perfect weekend.

Fantastic setup for large groups, fully equiped kitchen, great BBQ area, interior of the hall looks freshly painted, plenty of trestle tables and chairs provided to set up however you like. Kids playground and a large oval, we kicked a footy around, had a hole in one chipping comp and a treasure hunt for the kiddies in the treed area around the oval.

We loved the waterfront campsite at Lalgambook Retreat! The view across the water is beautiful and we loved daydreaming out on the little jetty. The bathroom facilities make the camping feel luxurious, while still secluded in nature – the best of everything. We saw lots of wallabies and had a kookaburra spend an afternoon at our campsite with us. The sounds of frogs at night and birds in the mornings made for peaceful sleeps, far away from it all. We had planned on going for walks in the local area but the property is so big and brimming with stunning bushland that we didn't need to leave the whole weekend. The artistic metalwork around the property including seating arrangement overlooking the water and fire pit are a really nice touch. David and Karen are kind and welcoming hosts. We feel very lucky to have discovered this gem near Daylesford and are grateful to them for having us stay. We would love to stay again one day and even stop by Hepburn Bathhouse, just down the road, on the way in next time.

The place is spacious, really well kept, and full of life — we saw a peacock roaming around, lots of horses and other animals, and flowers everywhere you look. It felt peaceful and beautiful. The facilities were fine for what we needed, and the host was just lovely — so friendly and easy to chat with, which made the experience even better. We came with friends and we honestly had the best time. It’s the kind of spot where you can relax, enjoy nature, and just switch off for a while. I’d definitely stay again and highly recommend it to anyone who wants a memorable camping experience.
