We had a fantastic weekend away. The site was right next to the river and only a short walk to the Molesworth Pub. We meet our hosts Greg and Kylie, very nice people. Would highly recommend staying there.

Weekend Trip to The Village Green & Pavilion

We loved camping at this spot right on the river - beautiful. Awesome Easter camping! Respectful, quiet campsites along the rivers edge. Only a short walk to the pub and general store and for a longer walk the great Victorian rail trail. Greg met us on arrival and was a great host, also checked in with everyone once set up. Firewood for $50 was handy as nothing lying around. Highly recommend!

With pets

Had an amazing couple of days at Village Green. My partner, dog and I stayed in Glamper Wings for the Easter weekend and it was the most perfect place for us who had been wanting to disconnect from the busy and chaotic life in the city. We loved that the glamper came with everything we needed - a kitchen, smart tv, shower, etc. My favourite spot was the balcony - perfect for reading and having a glass of wine while getting yourself soaked in the quiet of nature. There was also a ridge walk trail we headed to from the site, and if there's something I wished we did differently is to get up early to do the hiking when there is more time before it gets dark. I loved knowing the history of the place where Village Green now stands on and seeing how the traditional owners of the land were acknowledged in some parts of the property. We wish to go back.

This was a great location by the Goulburn River, clean, flat with ample shade from trees. Located just off of the main road, where there is a general store should you forget any supplies. Every camping group was respectful, clean and friendly. Another bonus was that it was pet friendly in addition our two year old boy also enjoyed his first camping trip in a tent. Would definitely reccomend and will be back.

My son and I had a great night here. Super friendly and accommodating, honestly the best laugh I've had in a while. Would definitely recommend this space if you're still wanting to be close to town but have a bush feel. Thanks for having us guys

Fabulous site with everything we needed. The camp shelter, log seating and clean composting toilets were just perfect. The site itself is beautiful, open, nicely mowed and so serene. Rob is a great host - super nice guy and responsive and helpful. Definitely will be back. Thanks so much Rob!

1 night at Galea Ranch

This is my second stay at Galea Ranch, and I felt just as welcomed as I did the first time. Wayne and Sharelle are truly exceptional hosts, warm, attentive, and always going above and beyond. I especially love the way they’ve set up a fire pit at each campsite, adding a lovely touch to the experience. The animals are another highlight, friendly and adorable, and you can even feed them apples. The location is also great, with plenty of nearby activities to enjoy.

The property is amazing. Taylan met me at the entrance to give me directions and off I went. Campsite was very private on top of the hill. Taylan provided firewood which was more than enough on a cold autumn night. Heaps of stars, Roos and serenity. As described it’s a bit rocky so bring a good hammer for tent pegs. If it’s a bit wet outside make sure you have a capable vehicle otherwise it may prove a bit slippery with the hills and stones. Would recommend and will come again.

Absolute gem of a spot. Incredibly private, well maintained, level spots in a quiet location. Spotless bathroom and shower available as well: both were much appreciated. Hosts were lovely and provided apples to feed the bull, cow and horses. We will 100% be back.

Perfect spot for a weekend getaway. We will be back for sure. The set up and amenities are great and makes for an easy camping trip.

We stayed on a powered site in our motohome. Really enjoyed the peace and quiet. At night the stars were amazing with no light pollution. We failed to follow the directions. But a phone call to Taylan resolved our problem. New to Hip camp it was our fault. (Though two 78 year olds visiting from England are proud of our trip) This site is one we will treasure!

My family and I had a wonderful time camping Sharelle & Wayne's. The property is great and the campsites all very well thought out with solid firepits with seating, hammocks, and even great toilet and shower facilities. They are both wonderfully thoughtful hosts too, bringing some toys for our toddler, plenty of apples to feed the animals, and topping up the firewood. It's evident the effort they put in to making sure all their guests have a wonderful stay. Greatly appreciated, thank you :)

Seven Hills Tallarook

Our property, "Seven Hills Tallarook", sits high above Tallarook with deep valleys and high peaks, just over one hour North of Melbourne's CBD. The property is 600 acres of thick Victorian bush and farmed paddocks. We have a wide range of hobby farm animals - pigs, sheep, alpacas, chickens, ponies, a donkey, along with commercial heard of South African Boer Goats. As night falls, the wildlife come out to play - kangaroos, rabbits, deer and wallabies. Internally, we have in excess of 10 kilometers of roads within the property, the majority being 2WD accessible (weather conditions apply). There are parts of the property which are only 4WD accessible. Our campsites are placed to allow you to be as isolated as possible - away from other campers (you may see others as you drive past, or they drive past you). At some of our bush sites, you will be able to see other campers, but they are not close by. Additionally, we have now entered our Fire Danger Period for the 2024/2025 Summer Season. We have not toggled the Fire Ban on as we do still allow campfires, however campers MUST adhere to CFA guidelines at all times. On days of Total Fire Ban (TFB), no fires, including gas stoves can be lit outdoors. Furthermore, we reserve the right to ask you not to light a fire regardless of TFB status if we feel weather conditions are unsafe, especially the wind element. We cannot plan the weather and the request to not light your campfires will most likely on the day and we will advise as such. Our interest is with your safety, our neighbors and our property & family.

Magic Mountain

Nestled amongst the mountains just outside of the township of Whittlesea our 40-acre property sits above the clouds. This experience comes with sweeping views, a hidden waterfall, a clear campground, and plenty of wildlife. The camping area is accessible by 4WD only, otherwise, strap on a backpack and earn it! (800m walk/hike from where a non-4WD can park). The waterfall is reached by a single trail track from the campsite, and you do need to be an experienced hiker to get to the waterfall. Which is part of the appeal! We welcome self-contained campers, who bring their own toilet and take all waste with them. We have a strict Leave No Trace policy. We have an adjacent fire pit area with tree log seating. You can order firewood from us too and a Coleman gas cooker with gas bottle (see extras). Merriwoola

Merriwoola is a property of outstanding natural beauty and offers guests a sanctuary from the world surrounded by parkland bush, mysterious boulders resting amongst the trees and numerous native animals including wombats, echidnas, kanagroos, wallabies, possums, koala and the most extraordinary birdlife. The property is defined by an ancient water course that cuts a 1km ravine through the property. During the winter the dry boulder-strewn gorge is transformed with waterfalls and cascades along its length and regardless of the season transports you to another time and place. There is limited solar power (enough for phones and laptops) and low flow water (enough to brush your teeth). Neither is guaranteed to be available. A wood stove heats the hut, boils the kettle and cooks your dinner; firewood is included. An open outdoor bathroom includes a sink, bath and drop toilet. Hot water is available but not promised. The hut is fenced and well-behaved dogs are welcome. This property is suited to resourceful guests who are familiar with lighting fires, swinging an axe and understanding rural courtesies.
