I started living here permanently seven years ago, most of the property's out dwellings and the Cabin is built from recycled, reclaimed materials or been handed down.
I am fully off the grid and in the process of trying to become self-sufficient.
The water is pumped from a springfed dam and mostly gravity-ed.
It's a little like McDonald's Farm, an array of birds and animals.
There's an orchard, hothouse and a Raspberry patch which may be my favourite spot when they're fruiting.
It really is an amazing lifestyle, peaceful, relaxing and rewarding.

Valley Views provide breathtaking views of the Mersey Valley and its arable agricultural pastures. Travellers will need to be fully self-contained and of course ‘leave no trace’. The camp area is located at the entrance to the property with ample room to pitch your tent or manoeuver your RV. There are two communal fire pots on site, wood is on hand via a donation honesty box. There are wonderful fishing, swimming and kayaking options at Merseylea and Kimberley less than 10 minutes’ drive away.
You'll find many opportunities for hiking, with trails suitable for all ages and abilities. The closest dump point is a 9-minute drive to the “Town of Topiary” Railton, where you will find a charming coffee shop, a hotel, post office, a petrol station with a convenience store, a mechanic and a takeaway shop.
Railton boasts the delightful Goliath Park, with multiple recreational activities available including tennis and pickleball courts, a pump track, skate park, covered barbeque and picnic area and playground. It’s also where you’ll find a trail head for the World Class Wild Mersey Mountain Bike Network. Every Saturday morning, an idyllic bush setting hosts the Railton Park Run.
Ten minutes up the road you’ll find Sheffield, the Town of Murals and further south, Cradle Mountain.
This is a working farm, we have working dogs and sheep, so four-legged friends must remain on leash.

There are two kayaks and two SUPs you are welcome to use. And there is a boat ramp just a few kms down the road to launch your boat.
The Bunkhouse is a beautifully built structure, with large windows and plenty of space. It's two storey, with the upper open-plan level accommodating 8 people in single bunk beds. A further two guests can sleep on the large sofa bed downstairs.

On the property, we have a short but enchanting bush walk to our local creek (great place for a picnic!) that will take you past some giant man ferns, myrtles, celery top pines, pepper berries, and an assortment of gums and native currents.
From 4WD tracks to pristine beaches, we are within a 30-minute drive of a huge range of activities and adventures so numerous options for day trips on your doorstep. Famous Boat Harbour Beach is only a short 15-minute drive away and just beyond that is Sisters Beach which has some great coves and hikes (Anniversary Bay) into Rocky Cape National Park that will take you along the coast to further secluded beaches and some sacred Aboriginal sites.
If you head inland from La Bena you will enter the Tarkine Rainforest and travel along some great 4WD tracks that will take you to the Dip River Forest Reserve which has the big tree and Dip Falls - you can then head to Stanley for a meal at Hursey's Seafood and then loop back around to camp (a great day out).
The camping area caters to self-contained campers only, so please ensure you have a camp toilet with you, and can take all waste when you go. Please leave no trace.

I started living here permanently seven years ago, most of the property's out dwellings and the Cabin is built from recycled, reclaimed materials or been handed down.
I am fully off the grid and in the process of trying to become self-sufficient.
The water is pumped from a springfed dam and mostly gravity-ed.
It's a little like McDonald's Farm, an array of birds and animals.
There's an orchard, hothouse and a Raspberry patch which may be my favourite spot when they're fruiting.
It really is an amazing lifestyle, peaceful, relaxing and rewarding.

At almost 300 metres above sea level, “Sunridge” our 37-hectare working farm sits on the eastern end of Sunnyside, a rich agricultural area 30 minutes inland from the Spirit of Tasmania terminal at East Devonport. Valley Views provide breathtaking views of the Mersey Valley and its arable agricultural pastures. Travellers will need to be fully self-contained and of course ‘leave no trace’. The camp area is located at the entrance to the property with ample room to pitch your tent or manoeuver your RV. There are two communal fire pots on site, wood is on hand via a donation honesty box. There are wonderful fishing, swimming and kayaking options at Merseylea and Kimberley less than 10 minutes’ drive away.
You'll find many opportunities for hiking, with trails suitable for all ages and abilities. The closest dump point is a 9-minute drive to the “Town of Topiary” Railton, where you will find a charming coffee shop, a hotel, post office, a petrol station with a convenience store, a mechanic and a takeaway shop.
Railton boasts the delightful Goliath Park, with multiple recreational activities available including tennis and pickleball courts, a pump track, skate park, covered barbeque and picnic area and playground. It’s also where you’ll find a trail head for the World Class Wild Mersey Mountain Bike Network. Every Saturday morning, an idyllic bush setting hosts the Railton Park Run.
Ten minutes up the road you’ll find Sheffield, the Town of Murals and further south, Cradle Mountain.
This is a working farm, we have working dogs and sheep, so four-legged friends must remain on leash.

Located an hours drive North West of Hobart near the quaint little town of Ouse (pronounced - ooze) and set on the pristine Derwent River. Like so many of the towns on the Derwent River, this region is very popular with bushwalkers, fishing enthusiasts, and mountain bike riders.
Overlooking the "pot-belly" of the Derwent River, This place is a fishing and kayaking heaven . Have a swim in summer, kayak or go for an adventure on your mountain bike. There are two kayaks and two SUPs you are welcome to use. And there is a boat ramp just a few kms down the road to launch your boat.
The Bunkhouse is a beautifully built structure, with large windows and plenty of space. It's two storey, with the upper open-plan level accommodating 8 people in single bunk beds. A further two guests can sleep on the large sofa bed downstairs.
The bunkhouse is fully self-contained with a kitchenette, toilet and shower.Clean sheets and blankets . Wi- Fi and streamed TV movie channels Please note - this is not the ritz! It's a simple bunkhouse, providing shelter to sleep, in a great location. If you wish to make use of the firepit, you'll need to BYO wood, this firepit is not often used. Our 34-acre property is nestled on the edge of the ancient Tarkine rainforest on the north west coast of Tasmania (approx 1 hour 15 min west of Devonport and the Spirit of Tasmania).
At La Bena, you will find a relaxing and quiet place to park and camp, that will give you easy access to our wild surroundings.
On the property, we have a short but enchanting bush walk to our local creek (great place for a picnic!) that will take you past some giant man ferns, myrtles, celery top pines, pepper berries, and an assortment of gums and native currents.
From 4WD tracks to pristine beaches, we are within a 30-minute drive of a huge range of activities and adventures so numerous options for day trips on your doorstep. Famous Boat Harbour Beach is only a short 15-minute drive away and just beyond that is Sisters Beach which has some great coves and hikes (Anniversary Bay) into Rocky Cape National Park that will take you along the coast to further secluded beaches and some sacred Aboriginal sites.
If you head inland from La Bena you will enter the Tarkine Rainforest and travel along some great 4WD tracks that will take you to the Dip River Forest Reserve which has the big tree and Dip Falls - you can then head to Stanley for a meal at Hursey's Seafood and then loop back around to camp (a great day out).
The camping area caters to self-contained campers only, so please ensure you have a camp toilet with you, and can take all waste when you go. Please leave no trace.

This is a magical spot, we were spoiled with a magnificent view from our camp site watching the tide coming in and out. Sarah and Mark were fantastic hosts and the kids were very friendly and joined our kids in some games. We bought some firewood from Mark and had a sensational fire. We had a lovely stay. Loved the property - very clean with a nice view, beautiful sunsets and all the farm animals around. The owners let our kids feed their pet goats and take a walk around the farm and see all the animals! 😊

Another beautiful stay at Inglis. We thoroughly enjoy coming back to this little patch on the NW Coast. From the bike track, to the playground, jumping from the pontoons and the swing, to just lazing around the river and kayaking. You will see us again before summer comes to an end ☀️

Great location for accessing cradle mountain, nice grassy spot for kids but if you are wanting more space book site one or the 4WD access one on the hill as the rest are very close together. Our awning nearly touched the van beside us!

We really enjoyed our time here. So much so we stayed an extra night.
The river swing and pontoon were a huge hit.
We took a few walks through the fairy garden and our kids added some items for fun.
The goats were also very friendly.
We can't wait to come back.

The BEST camping spot ever! We loved our private space at site 1. Rope swing, swimming platforms, fairy garden and playground all within a short walking distance. Hosts were lovely. Stoked to have this place so close to home!

Our family of 4 absolutely loved our stay. We booked the 4wd private site and it perfect. Private and peaceful with beautiful views of rolling hills and the cows in the paddock.
We loved visiting the nearby lake, Tasmazia and the town of Sheffield. The owners were kind and responsive and Steve even took the time out to introduce our children to their goats. Such kind hosts. 100% recommend.

Great spot, quiet location. fun for kids and adults. fishing, swimming, and kayaking, or just relaxing. Close to town to check out what Wynyard has to offer. friendly town. Forshore market on the first and third Sunday of every month. Hosts are nice and welcoming people. Will definitely be back.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted and taken care of. The space is a mix of bushy or open with the ability to choose where best suits you to set up. We followed the hosts suggestion to camp in an open area away from a large group for more peace and quiet.
My friend and I booked two sites and had our 4 dogs with us who were able to have them off lead and they were much happier and relaxed than when they have to be secured. They also had the kids come and play with them which they absolutely loved.
We really enjoyed having the kids show us the estuary and crabs. We really felt like we were an extension of the family during our stay and would happily stay here solo.
Looking forward to staying here again soon!

The camps and locations available offer plenty of space and options in a beautiful, serene location hemmed by the Inglis river. Very thoughtful placement of fire pots and swimming platforms as well as play equipment, goats, riverside fairy walk and MTB track. Main swimming platform features bbq, hut, large pontoon, picnic table, rope swing and slippery slide. Absolutely awesome!
10/10 will return.

A beautiful property in a quiet location.
The hosts, Jamie and Renee went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed.
Close to gorgeous beaches, Rocky Cape National Park and good fishing spots.
Highly recommended! But do bring your own loo!
