Our property is situated on the edge of Maydena, surrounded by nature at its best. Ideally located for the mountain bike adventurer, with the world renowned Maydena Bike Park right on our doorstep. We are also surrounded by both Mt Field and South West National Parks as well as the Styx and Florentine valleys, home to some of Australia's tallest trees. Enjoy any number of activities including bushwalking, trout fishing, kayaking or simply just taking in the stunning views. We are offering self contained caravan accommodation as well as a private camp site for up to 2 vehicles. Campers must have their own amenities if staying at the campground, as there is no shower or toilet facilities. Nearest toilet and dump station is 1km away in the Maydena township. There are only basic supplies to be had at the post office, open Mon to Fri, so get all major supplies before arrival. There is a cafe and restaurant option as well. We are pet friendly however all pets must be kept under control to keep the wildlife safe. Campfires are permitted in our allocated fireplace except on days of total fire ban. Like so many of the towns on the Derwent River, this region is very popular with bushwalkers, fishing enthusiasts, and mountain bike riders. Overlooking the "pot-belly" of the Derwent River, This place is a fishing and kayaking heaven . Have a swim in summer, kayak or go for an adventure on your mountain bike. There are two kayaks and two SUPs you are welcome to use. And there is a boat ramp just a few kms down the road to launch your boat. The Bunkhouse is a beautifully built structure, with large windows and plenty of space. It's two storey, with the upper open-plan level accommodating 8 people in single bunk beds. A further two guests can sleep on the large sofa bed downstairs. The bunkhouse is fully self-contained with a kitchenette, toilet and shower.Clean sheets and blankets . Great spot nestled in between Westerway and Strathgordon to explore what the region has to offer. Andrew and Maree were a lovely couple. Very accommodating, very friendly and very knowledgeable of the local area. Directions were clear. They are just starting out so give them a go, highly recommend it. Their house is close by so respect is a must. The Cormarant bird in the pond was very entertaining.

We had such a wonderful stay at Maree and Andrew’s. They’re super lovely and the camp spot is gorgeous. Really private and sheltered. We enjoyed a camp fire at night looking at the stars. We’ll be back for sure!

Lovely place close to everything. Easy to find, peaceful. Hosts are lovely and welcoming, they make sure you have everything you need and then leave you to have privacy but encourage you to get them if you need anything

Lovely peaceful site, plenty of space to relax. We enjoyed having a fire under the stars and visits from the local wildlife. Easy access to the Mountain bike park and the local sites. Hosts are really friendly and easy to deal with. Highly recommended, we will definately be back again.

Weekend Trip to Nature's Edge

We absolutely loved our stay in the Natures Edge Caravan. The property is relaxing, peaceful and scenic, with cute native wallabies hopping by to keep you company. The caravan was fully equipped with everything you need and very clean and comfortable. The bathroom and shower are close by and after walking past some beautiful tree ferns your entry is greeted with timber features and a wonderful spa scent. Maree and Andrew were very kind and welcoming. They do a great job keeping the gardens nice and provided a tour to orientate us when we arrived. The caravan is seperate to the house building and feels very private and not too secluded. We knew our lovely hosts were there if we needed, but they didn’t linger or interrupt us at all. The property is just a 15 minute walk from the Maydena township and I have no doubt I will be back to stay again. Thank you!
