With large distances between other campers, each site can cater for large groups, with no close neighbours. The sites are at least 2km away from busy roads, so absolute peace and privacy! There's a beautiful push bike ride from Riverton to Clare Valley and all the wineries are along the way. Plenty of room at the property for kids to ride their push bikes. Fantastic sunsets and sunrises from all sites, and at its best at the SUNSET BAA. Beautiful bird noises, including the kookaburras having a laugh. There's a very very basic "long drop toilet" pit toilet located near the Gumtree paddock and 5 others shared, down close to the camping paddocks, if not wanting to use shared toilets, please bring and supply your own portable toilet. All have beautiful surroundings and views. The land here is spectacular. From morning light accompanied by birdsong, to days spent exploring the creek and the bush, to stargazing and toasting marshmallows by night, the land here offers the perfect antidote to modern-day stresses. There is (wonderfully) limited phone service here, meaning it's the perfect place for a digital detox! Two of our campsites have very basic outback long drop toilets (Wombat Flat and Creek Site), but for all other sites, campers need to be fully self-contained. It's you and nature. There are two creek lines joining to make a single stream with four dams also on the property. Potential for vineyard and with an airfield close by and a quality dirt road running along the Western boundary and a surveyed road along the northern boundary this site makes for easy walking and is within short distances to some of the best cellar doors in the Barossa. Kaiser Stuhl National Park is only a short drive away over the lookout at Mengler’s Hill and the Heyson Trail runs through the hill at the Eastern end. Permission may be needed to access other private properties adjoining, however. Wineries close by include Jacob’s Creek Visitors Centre, Rockfords, Grant Burge Cellar Door, St Hugo’s, Charles Melton, Moorooroo Cellar Door or Jacob’s Creek Retreat. Tanunda is only a 5-10 min drive away where a great range of food outlets and a wider range of cellar doors exist. Cheryl 0421 521 733This 20 acre working property is dedicated to our horses, dogs, birds and relaxing!You are welcome to wander into the big paddock to access the walking trails and continue on to explore the scrub area where many native birds come and go including kookaburras.The line of trees planted in the gully area are dedicated koala forage trees so also wander down there and have a look and see if you can spot one.Your relaxed property walk will take you past paddocked sheep (they may run up to you if they think you have something for them to eat. Cut apples or carrots into pieces for them ) Rams and Whethers are together in their own paddock, alpacas and Bobby are in with the Ewes and any lambs at the time protecting them from predators in another paddock.There are horses, Dallas the mule (please do not enter their paddocks) , wild ducks at the dam, as well as our ducks and geese if they are out of their enclosure that day. There are raceways between all paddocks to continue your walk all around the property. Beware of the electric fencing though, it hurts if you touch it!We also have some very friendly chooks and turkeys that LOVE to say hello and be hand fed chopped up pieces of apple, carrot, grapes and especially watermelon! Feel free to give them any food scraps you might have. We also have a family of magpies will enjoy any meat scraps you leave for them too.Dallas, our mule is always up for a bit of attention and any apples or carrots you might like to share with him.Dallas is rather special as his dad is a "mammoth donkey" who has been imported from America. His mum is a stunning thoroughbred. Mammoth donkeys are a bigger/taller breed of donkey than Australian donkeys are. They are beginning to be used up north on stations instead of horses as mules are sturdier, more sure footed, not as flighty as horses so safer for stock men and women to use working with cattle. They can live into their late 30,s so have a longer working life as well. Dallas was born in 2023Campsites 1, 2 and 3 are on the right hand side as you drive in via the automatic opening gate which you will be given access to once we have added your mobile number to the system after you have booked. We are currently planting more native shrubs and trees in this area to encourage even more bird life plus provide future windbreaks and further divide sites. From this area you will see the most spectacular sunsets and be able to have an open campfire during winter season.The Dam It site, Tree line site and Solar paddock site are through another gate on the left hand side opposite site 3/ the paddock with the solar panels in it before you reach our residence, aviaries and toilet.It is also through this gate you go to access the walking trails.Besides sitting back relaxing reading a book with a nice local wine in your hand there are other nearby options to fill your days while staying on our property.Take a short drive down Goldsfield Rd to the Mining Museum and hiking trails. A few KM's towards Williamstown stop in and see the Whispering Wall, built between 1899 and 1903, for its time of construction the dam was deemed a revolutionary engineering marvel. Sounds and voices, even a whisper can be clearly heard at the other end of the dam more then 100 meters away.Continue on through Williamstown and hire a kayak and explore the Warren Reservoir with the resident pelicans. The Warren reservoir was built on the South Para River between 1914 and 1916. Mt Crawford forest is then another short drive on where you can hike, ride and picnic and be guaranteed to see kangaroos in their natural habitat.We are also ideally located being at the gateway to numerous wineries, take your e-bike and explore the towns in the Barossa Valley which are linked with rose lined bitumen trails, explore the shops, cafes and enjoy delectable food, stop in at the Lavender Farm, treat yourself to a scenic flights with Barossa Helicopters or challenge yourself at Barossa Bowland and fantastic themed Dinosaur mini golf just to name even more options!Less than 10 minute drive from our front gate will have you at the lovely town of Lyndoch where the local IGA is a handy stop for those emergency essentials as well as the local bakery, craft shop, pub, post office, Lord of Lyndoch restaurant, Table Cafe Kies winery for starters. 10 Minures the other direction will see you at a new suburb Springwood which has a variety of shops and a Chemist, couple minutes further will have you at the lovely town of Gawler. This property is a portion of a large working farm. We have cattle, sheep, cropping, and horses. The property is approx 12,000 acres with amazing ranges that sometimes see snow in winter. Tent, Swag or Campervan at Heyson base camp. Enjoy the lovely Gum lined Dry Creek with blue stone ruins of times gone by. Enjoy a short hike to the Wind Turbines and see up close how magnificent these green energy windmills work. Or enjoy a hike along the famous Heyson Trail at the top of the range. See the stars in all their glory whilst cuddling up in front of the camp fire. Wake up to grazing cattle, sheep and wildlife on a beautiful working farm. The campsite is nestled amongst beautiful old gums and pine with sweeping views of the valley in front and a gorgeous range out the back. Plenty of Shade and places to explore. Dogs on Lead only. There are livestock on the property, please do not approach livestock unless Host is with you. Just a short drive of 30 minutes to the town of Burra you can enjoy the Passport Key and see the rich heritage of the copper mining era. Jamestown is 25 minutes drive where you can explore the bundaleer forest or see the tesla battery.

Set amongst the gum trees and kangaroos, a beautiful break from suburban life. Nestled right in between the Barossa and the Adelaide Hills, fun places to explore are not too far away. Springton is the home of the historic Herbig Family Tree; in 1855 Mr Herbig and his wife lived in this tree and welcomed 2 of their 16 children whilst living inside the tree. We offer a wide grassy area peppered with trees, ideal for a relaxing spacious camp. No toilet facilities onsite so campers must be self-contained. Our site is located along the Lavender Federation Walking Trail. 7km from Springton General Store where you can pick up all basic supplies including fuel and simple takeaway meals, or Springton pub across the road has pub meals. 25 mins to Angaston (with the Barossa Valley Cheese Company) and the wider Barossa area. 30 mins the other direction to Woodside (where you will find Melba’s chocolate factory) and the greater Adelaide hills. 25mins to the Birdwood Motor Museum 30mins to the Big Rocking Horse in Gumeracha where you can climb the Big Rocking Horse for $2. 15km to Eagle View 4WD Track (Sanderston) If you’re here on a Saturday morning the Mount Pleasant Farms Markets (8am-12), 10 mins down the road is a great place to pick up some fresh produce and a coffee. Mannum Waterfalls - 30 mins drive is a beautiful spot for a walk.

Weekend Trip to Burra Creek Camping

Directions and communication with Trish and Peter were great. No dramas finding the site (creek camp). Site was clean, level and well set up with areas that were well sheltered from wind but was still open with good views of the surrounding bush and creek beds. We had a storm come through but it hardly had any effect on our comfort (we were in a tent). Plenty of land to explore and there are massive gums that must be hundreds of years old. Will certainly book again but during a period that we can have a fire although we both agreed that it wasn’t that important in this instance! Great place to relax and unwind!

Lovely views from the hill line out to the west and south from SevenHill. Open space for multiple vehicles if needed. Easy to park up. Due to the exposed nature of the site, better for vans and hard shell camping, not ideal for tents if the weather turns.

We had the lovely secluded Moss Rock site which provided good protection from wind and was surrounded by beautiful trees. There were amazing views a short walk away along ridge line. Composting toilet was spotless. Communication with Chris, excellent.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay amongst the gums and wombat holes beside the dry creek. We were serenaded by a wide variety of birdlife including Rainbow Bee-eaters and Red-backed and Sacred Kingfishers. We would’ve loved to add a wombat to the list of sightings but unfortunately that wasn’t to be this time. Maybe next time as we will definitely be back. Trish was a delight to talk to and nothing was too much trouble for her.

Great spot to stay off grid with 6-7 individual sites on the property. Some sites are close enough together that you could stay with a group but still have your own space. Only one other caravan there when we stayed so we were very secluded and couldn’t see them directly from our site. Good size long drop toilet area with motion lighting for night use. Very clean. Hosts were friendly though we rarely saw them. $25 for a decent size container of firewood delivered to our site seemed pretty reasonable. It’s a natural area, so the sites have a small slope and you might need some extra caravan levellers pending your setup and site. Easy drive to Clare and Burra. Our dogs loved the property’s dam! Our favourite Hip Camp so far. 😊
