Flat cropping and grazing property with a rise up at the Eastern end where a native forest and scrub exists. There are two creek lines joining to make a single stream with four dams also on the property. Potential for vineyard and with an airfield close by and a quality dirt road running along the Western boundary and a surveyed road along the northern boundary this site makes for easy walking and is within short distances to some of the best cellar doors in the Barossa. Kaiser Stuhl National Park is only a short drive away over the lookout at Mengler’s Hill and the Heyson Trail runs through the hill at the Eastern end. Permission may be needed to access other private properties adjoining, however.
Wineries close by include Jacob’s Creek Visitors Centre, Rockfords, Grant Burge Cellar Door, St Hugo’s, Charles Melton, Moorooroo Cellar Door or Jacob’s Creek Retreat. Tanunda is only a 5-10 min drive away where a great range of food outlets and a wider range of cellar doors exist. The helpful staff at the Visitor’s Centre in Murray St can assist with answering questions and most services are catered for in the town’s centre.
This site’s location lends itself to quite short or long term stays with close access to the fruits of the Barrosa. There are recharge and excellent public facilities at the Visitor Centre and links to Barossa Balloon Adventures if desired.

Take a stroll along the river, looking for canoe trees. First Nations people of the lower Murray River formerly made large canoes from the bark of Red Gum trees. They used canoes to transport goods and move long distances along the river system.
The Marne River in southeast South Australia starts below Eden Valley at an elevation of 366m and ends at an elevation of 5.06m flowing into the River Murray.

South Australia’s beautiful Eden Valley, known as the garden of grapes and gums, is one of Australia’s premier cool climate wine regions characterised by its rugged beauty and varied topography.
Eden Valley was named by the surveyors of the area after they found the word "Eden" carved into a tree. The beautiful rolling hills of the region create a natural diversity in mesoclimate determined by altitude, aspect and slope, which also naturally impacts the soil type. It is therefore critical to match the correct grape variety and site. Overall, the region is characterised by cooler conditions than its famous neighbour, the Barossa Valley, and as such the final stages of ripening and harvesting take place in cooler temperatures.
Eden Valley wines are distinctive in their character, displaying wonderful aromatics, elegance, complexity and finesse.
Eden Valley shares a proud German heritage with it's neighbour the Barossa Valley, collectively known as the Barossa region. English and German immigrants settled here in the early to mid-19th century, establishing the township in the 1860s.
With a wine-making history dating back to 1847, Eden Valley is home to some of the world’s oldest Shiraz and Riesling vineyards.

Our campground consists of 6 designated van sites with a central fire pit. Individual fire buckets and wood can be provided at an extra charge ($25). Our camping sites are located in a picturesque tree lined gully. A precious slice of untouched beauty. Please don’t help yourself to our trees (no chainsaws).
As we are a working farm, with sheep and alpacas surrounding the campsite, dogs must remain on lead at all times. It is also dog owners responsibility to cleanup after their pets. Please also remain on designated tracks to walk along. Views of sunsets from the top of the hill are breathtaking. Please also always leave gates as you find them.
The local council district provides cafes, amazing pub food (our personal favourite, The Tarlee Hotel), bakeries and push bike tracks. Not to mention wineries.
Generators are welcome, but please be respectful of fellow campers. No motorbikes to be ridden on property, but push bikes welcome. There is currently no toilet or potable water available.

The farm is situated in the heart of the high-altitude Eden Valley Winegrowing region, so we really do have the best of everything, with the stunning views & peaceful surroundings of the farm, to wineries, restaurants, cafes, and the quaint country towns of the Barossa Valley only ten minutes’ drive from our front gate.
Visit the neighbouring boutique wineries including, Poonawatta, Brockenchack, Shobbrook Wines, Heathvale Wines, Rileys of Eden Valley and Max and Me Winery or bush walk in the nearby Kaiser Stuhl Conservation Park.
After a day of touring the region or walking the Kidman Trail, make sure you're back in time to set up your campfire and watch the sun go down with a glass of cool Eden Valley Riesling.

Another weekend, another time spent at Starlight Scrub.
This place is so peaceful, there was only one car spotted over the two days I spent there, and I could barely hear it from where I was.
Plenty of room for friends and park nearby, nestled amongst the trees that pose no danger of falling branches.
Beautiful view of the sunrise, if you face the direction you came in.
Saw some of the locals 🐑 and it's an easy path on entry and exit of the site.
Would happily visit here again.

Awesome site with a very convenient location for anyone wanting to explore the Clare or Barossa Valley. Super friendly hosts. Site felt very private (we were the only ones there). Lovely views from the hill and great stars. Would absolutely book again.

What a beautiful spot right in the heart of the Barossa. You feel a world away, tucked up against the ranges, but still so close to all the wineries and boutique cafes. We really enjoyed our time here - plenty of room for our big rig (23ft) and the kids loved exploring the property. Thank you!

It was a very peaceful and beautiful location. With beautiful views over the vineyards and farming land. there was abundant bird life and grazing sheep in the adjoining paddocks. Beautiful sunsets and a private location. It was also close to a number of wineries and towns of the Barossa Valley. We would definitely stay there again.

We had a great stay on Alan's Farm, kids saw a few animals and we had tye perfect spot underneath some beautiful trees. Alan met us at the gate to guide us to our spot. A great off grid stay.

The views from the property over the valley were amazing. It was windy and there was a mix up with other guests staying in our booked site. When I raised it with Linda she was amazing and very responsive - providing other site options for us to consider. If we’d be staying more than one night we’d have definitely moved sites but we stayed in the place we set up and were treated to an awesome sunset!

Super peaceful and a great setting. Linda sent a lot of really handy info and tips - unfortunately time was against us on the first day, and the weather was against us on the second. But that didn’t detract from this fantastic spot.
There are two flat, open sites. We chose the first because the fire pit was further away from the grass, and the olive grove provided a bit more shelter.
The site is super tranquil… the only sounds were those of all the birds (and a rather vocal koala), yet it’s just a few minutes easy drive from Tanunda and even walking distance from some wineries.
I’ll definitely be back to explore more of Linda’s local food and wine recommendations.
