A working cattle farm with beautiful Poll Hereford cattle roaming the 160-acre block. The Marne River flows down through the block with ancient indigenous canoe trees dotted along the river which flows for approx 10 months of the year. Walk to the the top of the block for 180 degree views of Eden Valley and surrounds. Your booking will give you exclusive rights to camping, so no need to worry about noisy neighbours! Canoe Trees and the Marne River Take a stroll along the river, looking for canoe trees. First Nations people of the lower Murray River formerly made large canoes from the bark of Red Gum trees. They used canoes to transport goods and move long distances along the river system. The Marne River in southeast South Australia starts below Eden Valley at an elevation of 366m and ends at an elevation of 5.06m flowing into the River Murray. South Australia’s beautiful Eden Valley, known as the garden of grapes and gums, is one of Australia’s premier cool climate wine regions characterised by its rugged beauty and varied topography. Eden Valley was named by the surveyors of the area after they found the word "Eden" carved into a tree. The beautiful rolling hills of the region create a natural diversity in mesoclimate determined by altitude, aspect and slope, which also naturally impacts the soil type. It is therefore critical to match the correct grape variety and site. Overall, the region is characterised by cooler conditions than its famous neighbour, the Barossa Valley, and as such the final stages of ripening and harvesting take place in cooler temperatures. Eden Valley wines are distinctive in their character, displaying wonderful aromatics, elegance, complexity and finesse. Eden Valley shares a proud German heritage with it's neighbour the Barossa Valley, collectively known as the Barossa region. English and German immigrants settled here in the early to mid-19th century, establishing the township in the 1860s. With a wine-making history dating back to 1847, Eden Valley is home to some of the world’s oldest Shiraz and Riesling vineyards. We are a family of 5 with 3 children who love to explore and learn about the history of the places we visit. So, we hope you enjoy this little snippet! We loved this open spaced beautiful working farm. Picturesque landscape that goes forever with all the peace and quiet you could ever wish for. We are planning on coming back again already!

Easy to find and a lovely little piece of Eden! We stayed one night with our three young kids and had a fantastic time. Peaceful, quiet, and no noise apart from nature. A 4x4 is handy if it’s been wet. There is a lovely spot at the back near a big tree. It’s a beautiful place to explore, unwind and switch off.

Really pretty property! Easy access with a front wheel drive sedan (in dry weather, at least!). Good spot for a bit of astrophotography if you're into that - I was lucky enough to capture some diffuse aurora on camera.

Very peaceful. Cows very curious and nice to observe . Discovered they like to eat charcoal to aid their gut health . Had them literally standing in our firepit crunching away on the cold coals whilst we we were sitting in our chairs only 2 metres away. On several occasions we were faced with 20 or more very curious cows surrounding our van so close you could hear them breathe and eat . Lots of birds and their songs. Galahs nesting in the big gums nearby. Woken by a lovely massed choir of magpies on some mornings. A mob of kangaroos in the top paddock. Some visited our camp in the mornings. Creek was running and we saw 3 turtles and a striped eel and plenty of ducks. So if you like to sit and observe nature in peace and tranquillity this is a great place to do it . Ps watching mobs of sheep being herded down the road by a farm worker and their dog is a plus .

We went with a group of friends and it was great to have the whole area to ourselves. Beautiful quiet spot, yet close to amenities if you need them. Would recommend as a great place to stay

Great little paddock with some massive trees and an established campfire. We loved it so much we booked for 2 nights but I stayed for an extra night just to enjoy the quiet surrounds. The site itself was quite level so there were no issues with the caravan and I could have oriented it anyway we wished. Going for night and day walks though the paddock was great and there were a few kangaroos about. Would be even better after the site gets some rain so the grass turns green! Overall a fantastic stay, just what we needed to reset and relax!

Quiet Escape Near the Barossa

We had a truly peaceful and relaxing stay, so quiet and undisturbed, it felt like we had the whole world to ourselves. Waking up to a blanket of icy frost across the paddock and crisp morning air was beautiful. We enjoyed exploring the open space admiring the few beautiful large old trees and rocks, and being just a short drive from the Barossa meant we could mix quiet camp time with barista coffee, wine tasting, and local adventures. This location is calm and charming, highly recommend for anyone wanting solitude and simple pleasures.

We loved to camp near the old gum tree. It was a quiet and peaceful weekend. We would have loved to see the cattle, but they must've been in another paddock. There was no water in the creek, but lots of fire wood. We were unlucky with the weather, but it gave us a reason to return one day.

Beautiful spot to camp. Panoramic scenic views. Rolling hills and a sense of being completely away. Huge gorgeous gum trees. Loved that currently only one group available per booking. We really appreciated the privacy and peacefulness. Although we didn't meet them, Rachael and Mark were both so helpful to communicate with.

We loved the peace and quiet here. Tucked behind a locked gate meant we could lock up the van and go to the local pub for dinner, the Eden Valley, which had awesome schnitzels... and exploring the Barossa which was a bonus! We would definitely stay again.

We loved the peace and quiet. Also the expansive flat area to put our van. We enjoyed the rural surrounds and the tranquility that comes with it. Also very handy to the Borassa. Would recommend to those who like the simple life like us.

This place is incredible. Its rare for me to feel that at peace. On this particular day there was no wind, dead silence. When the moon started to come up it was massive and blood orange. I sat in my swag looking up at the sky. A lot of star link going past, and sometimes multiple columns at once. The cows were lovely. The whole herd comes and checks you out and the babies were so cheeky and adorable. If you're an introvert and you just want some peace quiet, I would recommend it
