We have a 35 acre farm at the base of the Mt Lofty Ranges in Hallett. To the east of us is Mt Razorback and Mt Bryan which is part of the Heysen Trail. Each site features a level pad to keep you out of the dirt and the prickles, while defining your spot. There are also firepits and bins on each site. We currently require all campers to be fully self-contained, providing their own toilet, water, and power for a true off-grid experience. We are a work-in-progress and constantly chipping away at making things even better! The centrepiece of the campsite is an absolutely stunning stone ruin. We wish the walls could talk to tell us its story! We are currently working on making this space accessible to all our guests. Very quiet. I think I was the only one there. Poured with rain all night, thunder & lightning and thick fog. So it was like a scene from a scary movie. However, this didn't detract from the serenity and beauty of the surrounds. The birds were singing in the morning. It was just as I expected. I'd go again if I was in the area.

Weekend Trip to Cartapo Creek - Farm Stay

Oliver and Chloe were great hosts. The area was cut and ready for us to settle in and relax. The farm location was close enough to go in and spend a great day looking around Burra. And then being far enough away from the traffic and bustle to return to our site and relax and enjoy the sunset. Lovely spot. Would definitely stay again.

I had a great stay and thank you to Alex for being so positive in opening up his property to motorcycle camping. I had the property to myself and found a great spot to pitch my tent. Campsite 11 had fantastic views across the valley and it was nice to sit back and watch the setting sun. I’ll definitely be planning another adventure.

Nice and quiet setting amongst the trees with plenty of nature sounds around, good views of the sky for stargazing, good quality firewood available upon entry, and the amenities provided were excellent, water on site for dousing your firepit... loved spending a couple quiet nights there, will undwind regularly at Heggies hill bush camp in the future!

We enjoyed staying at Cartapo Creek Farm Stay with Chloe and Oliver. They're a lovely young couple, very welcoming, nothing too much trouble. We had the entire camp ground to ourselves, peaceful, stunning rural setting. We purchased some meat from them and had a camp fire, it was what we needed to escape the hustle and bustle. A nice drive into Burra, stunning farm land, rolling hills and green pastures.

Weekend Trip to Maverick's Rest - Alpaca Farm Stay

This was our second stay at Mavericks Rest, both overnighters. We really loved the open landscape and peacefulness of being in the countryside. In April 2025 it was very much in drought, while this time it was very green and in good condition. Regardless we loved both times. We’d definitely return if we were passing through. Highly recommended.

Heggies was so good… Campsites are nicely spaced out so you don’t feel like you’re in each other’s pockets. Toilets were a particularly highlight, it felt like you were doing your business in a Swedish bath house! I’d highly recommend and hope to be back sooner

I had a great stay in site 1 which looks out to a great view right from the tent. Although a bit further to the pretty splendid bathrooms - it’s a short walk. Other guests were friendly and respectful of your camp site and were all there to enjoy the nature.
