The Riverland is an amazing place to visit, full of so many surprises! The variety in the landscape, from harsh limestone plains to beautiful rolling sandhills, to the beauty of the Murry River. There is so much wildlife to see especially when it comes to bird watching! And the area is full of history! In every town you will discover many historical facts and buildings, machines etc. We even have histroy right here on our property!-ruins of an old school. Oh, do I hear you love taking your horse out for trail rides? Well, here's the perfect place for that too!
At the campsite - approx 2km away from the farmhouse - you have the privilege of being surrounded by natural scrublands and habitats on the plains. See our mallee, acacias, sugar woods, grevilleas, honeyeaters, wrens, finches, kangaroos, emus & more. And don't forget the stars!! Our night sky is amazing due to very low light interference. At times, wake up to the sounds of sheep bleating and drinking from the trough a few hundred meters away.
We have a central campfire area for each site and a double sink connected to river water for washing up and a large prep area on sites 1 & 2. Also on site 1 & 2, just a short walk from the camp fire is an outdoor flushing toilet with hand basin-a luxury for a station stay!
Often there are things happening on the farm. Feel welcome to ask if there is anything you can be a part of to add to your holiday experience! We may be moving sheep, shearing, crutching, fencing, feeding the farm animals, milking our house goats etc. Even come for a horse ride (further info in 'Extras")!
Well behaved dogs are welcome, but please discuss this with us prior to booking and they must be on a lead at all time.
Sites are family friendly. Please let us know if you have children so we can accommodate the pricing. We want you to have the best camp experience!

Tanah Merdeka is a 184 acre cattle farm currently stocked with Black Baldies, Speckle Park, Angus and Hereford.
The creek line paddocks are dedicated to Hipcampers, so you can be assured your campsite won't be interrupted by curious cows during your stay. We can't say the same for the wild kangaroos that call Tanah Merdeka home though.
Please be respectful of the working nature of the property and shut any gates you go through except for the automatic gates. Please respect our privacy and don't venture up the driveway towards the house.
You are welcome to walk through and explore the paddocks containing the creek line. Do not drive across the creek - walking and bicycles only.
Please do not feed the wildlife or the cattle and practice leave no trace camping. For stays longer than one night campers must bring a portable chemical toilet. Use only the firepit provided and comply with current fire danger restrictions. Some firewood may be available next to the firepit but please bring your own firewood if intending to have a fire as this can't be guaranteed.

Our property is located in the rocky outcrops of the Bremer
Ranges and is
on the Bremer River in Rockleigh.
This site was once a overnight yard for the sheep farmers who were passing through the area.
We have three separate locations for campers to choose from. The Gums-
surrounded by small gum trees right near the Bremer River. The Carob- this site is situated
further back from the river and is surrounded by mulberry trees. Lastly we have The Sticks- this site is behind the scrubby bushed and
requires tight access and is more suited to tents and swags.
The decent into camp is quite narrow and steep so please drive carefully.
We are 45 minute drive
from the Lavender Federation Trail which is a popular walking track in the region.
We are only 30 minutes drive from
Monarto Conservation Park
which is a popular spot for walking trails and picnics. Monarto is also home to a Safari Park which is the largest Safari Park in Australia and home to lots of interesting animals.

After a day of touring the region make sure you're back in time to watch the sun go down because the sunsets are spectacular.

We are a small vineyard, winery and cellar door set on 45 acres of land. It's mostly pasture with 7 acres of vineyard. Guests are welcome to park during the week in the cellar door carpark or on the South side of the cellar door. On weekends we have a grassed strip, 8 metres wide, between a vineyard block and a windbreak. Which overlooks the valley behind and distant hills to the front. Being self contained is essential. Our toilets are only accessible when the cellar door is open. On weekends guests are welcome to come for dinner on Friday or for lunch on Saturday or Sunday, and then stay overnight, so they can enjoy a few drinks without worrying about driving home!

Tucked away in a peaceful vineyard setting on our family-owned farm, our Vineyard Retreat Campsite offers the perfect escape for nature lovers and those seeking a serene getaway. Whether you're in the mood for outdoor adventures or simply want to unwind under the stars, this campsite is an ideal base. Enjoy the peace and quiet of nature, with all the comforts you need for a relaxing stay.
There is an onsite bathroom shed equipped with a toilet and shower. A basin for washing up and a washing machine are located outside in the central shed. The central shed has a relaxed lounging atmosphere, with couches, a TV, and a fireplace. On the Riverland’s cooler days and nights, you can use the fireplace or, if you’d rather enjoy a true camping experience, there is a large fire pit outside.
We offer two powered sites and one unpowered site on our property.
The Vineyard Retreat Campsite is located just seven minutes from Waikerie’s town centre, allowing you to avoid the hustle and bustle of busy campgrounds. Explore the surrounding beauty of Maize Island Lagoon Conservation Park, just a short walk away, or drive a few minutes to Waikerie Ski Beach and Holder Bend. The campsite offers the ultimate blend of seclusion and accessibility, with the bonus of friendly, welcoming neighbours nearby.

Was a very quiet and peaceful spot. I camped on Gums site. Had no phone or internet connection (if you need it you can go to the top of yhe hill and get some exercise on the way lol) so it was a complete unplug and enjoy nature experience. Rodney is easy going and responsive to messages (if you have connection). Will probably book again

Such a beautiful quiet area to escape city life that seems a million miles away. Beautiful rolling hills, huge gum trees, cockatoos etc. our dog loved it so much she ran til she was exhausted. We’ll be back.

A lovely quiet place in the hills for your overnight stay. Annabelle and James were very welcoming. We parked our caravan at the back of the car park as the cellar door was busy on arrival and went inside to enjoy a wine tasting and Tapas. The cellar door closes at 5pm so there was lots more space and we were offered other places to park up. We were happy at our current location and didn’t move as we had a lovely view of the hills. There are tables and lighting outside the venue which James left on for us so we could sit and take in the view during the evening.
Just one element to note is the drive into the property is up a short but very steep gravel road. Not a worry for us as my husband is a confident driver. We are towing a 19ft caravan.

Great campsite! Spots are level and clean. You’re far from other campers, and each site is huge. One of the most ingenious bathrooms I’ve seen! Super well maintained.
