While it was very hot on the weekend we stayed at Brownhill Creek, and a little dusty, the park was very well set up. It had a camp kitchen and wash up area - perfect for tent campers. The bathrooms were clean and accessible. The pool was an absolute treat, as was being able to get a morning coffee from the park cafe.
In a good spot, not far from the CBD (about 15 min drive), and yet located on the urban fringe / the bush.
The only downside is there is a road directly adjacent the park, so there was a bit of road noise. This probably impacted us more because we were in a tent with little sound protection. Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper.

We spent a lovely 3 nights on site 2A. Our dog loved the freedom. The caretaker was helpful and friendly when we had a bit of trouble figuring out the sites. Views were awesome. There was a school camp in for the first few days but we didn’t really hear them at all. Short drive into Victor or bike ride. We will definitely book again.

What a fantastic spot and hosts. We accidentally set up on the wrong part of the camp.. totally our mistake! We were told this was ok and did not have to move. PHEW! Such a lovley relaxing 2 nights with the dog in a secure place. Beautiful view, good facilities, great location!
Would recommend to anyone.

We used our caravan at sites 3a. We stayed the first week of tern, so the place was very quite, which we like. We had a nice shady spot with lawn. A bit of bird activity and great ocean views. A school camp did come while we were there but that didn't bother us. Would stay again if we were down that way.

Cooinda retreats was a wonderful camp site. It is not too big so has a very homely feel to it and has great facilities on offer. The site itself had very well kept grass making camping such an enjoyable experience. I especially loved the option to stay in an enclosed site for pets. Overall it was an amazing campsite and I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

We loved our recent stay at Cooinda. Was a great place to base ourselves for 5 nights to explore the region. A credit to the owners, you feel a sense of relaxation from the moment you arrive, with full self service and no need to “check in”. The work they are doing for the community further cemented our decision to stay there. Our site was blessed with distant water views. As has been previously noted, there were portaloo toilets and showers, and a camp kitchen for campers’ use. These, as well as access to water were a bonus for us as we were anticipating the need to be fully self sufficient.

Easy peasey arrival and set-up.
Enjoyed my view and new trees I kept watered.
Flat tyre on day of departure and Adam allowed me to stay an extra night gratis if needs be. He’d notice my watering routines and thanked me kindly.
Some sites have great views over Encounter Bay and The Bluff. All are just 5-7 minutes from the town’s centre.

Overnight stay. We stayed on 2b was confusing to find initially as I couldn’t load the site map for some reason. FYI there is a site map attached to outside of Camp Kitchen. The managers are very quick to reply to Hipcamp messages if you have queries or issues.
The shower was good, it is in a portable, water was nice temp and they provide water proof container to keep your stuff dry.
The surrounding were lovely and well kept grounds.
