There is so much wildlife to see especially when it comes to bird watching! And the area is full of history! In every town you will discover many historical facts and buildings, machines etc. We even have histroy right here on our property!-ruins of an old school. Oh, do I hear you love taking your horse out for trail rides? Well, here's the perfect place for that too! At the campsite - approx 2km away from the farmhouse - you have the privilege of being surrounded by natural scrublands and habitats on the plains. See our mallee, acacias, sugar woods, grevilleas, honeyeaters, wrens, finches, kangaroos, emus & more. And don't forget the stars!! Our night sky is amazing due to very low light interference. At times, wake up to the sounds of sheep bleating and drinking from the trough a few hundred meters away. We have a central campfire area for each site and a double sink connected to river water for washing up and a large prep area on sites 1 & 2. Also on site 1 & 2, just a short walk from the camp fire is an outdoor flushing toilet with hand basin-a luxury for a station stay! Often there are things happening on the farm. Feel welcome to ask if there is anything you can be a part of to add to your holiday experience! We may be moving sheep, shearing, crutching, fencing, feeding the farm animals, milking our house goats etc. Even come for a horse ride (further info in 'Extras")! Well behaved dogs are welcome, but please discuss this with us prior to booking and they must be on a lead at all time. Sites are family friendly. We have a 35 acre farm at the base of the Mt Lofty Ranges in Hallett. To the east of us is Mt Razorback and Mt Bryan which is part of the Heysen Trail. We have a mixture of Sheep, Cows, Pigs, Alpacas, Goats, Chickens, Ducks, Peafowl and Turkeys roaming the property. Campers will be separate from roaming livestock, however can access them easily if they wish.

We have resurrected this character old workers quarters which we've turned into a rustic, peaceful abode for you to enjoy. Sleeps four (double bed, single bed and old miners couch,). Bring your own bedding. There is a flushing external toilet and a bush shower (ie: a shower bag, provided). The room with the open fire can be utilised as a kitchen/living area. We've provided crockery, cutlery, glasses, kettles and a camp oven. There is running cold rainwater into the sink. Cooking can be done on the open fire, or use the small camp gas cookers. There is also a gas BBQ with side burner in the open end room. If you are really brave, try your hand at camp oven cooking in the campfire. Mirrabooka means 'Southern Cross' a fitting name for this property, as it's in an area well-known for star-gazing with spectacular views of the Milky Way. The property is 75 acres of bush scrub, just 1.5 hours from Adelaide, and the gateway to the beautiful Riverland area. The land consists of mallee trees and saltbushs scattered, with enough privacy to find your own private nook and enjoy peace and tranquillity. Access to the River Murray is just five minutes down the road, so bring your boats, jetskis or kayaks and enjoy days spent down at the river, before retreating to basecamp for an enjoyable evening under the stars. On-site, there is enough room to ride your pushbikes with numerous tracks to explore and give you a good walk or ride. There is a pizza oven/outdoor cooking area with a small campfire. This is a communal area, shared by all campers. We have options for open camping where you choose your own site on the property, or you can book our cement slab which is conveniently close to the communal camp cooking area. (Please note, there is a total fire ban in the area from 15th Nov - 15th April). Pets are welcome, however, please keep them close as the property is unfenced, and the wildlife roam freely. The nearest town, Blanchtown, is just 3km away and here you will find a pub/bottle shop, with great meals and river views.

We are a Poll Merino sheep stud and a wheat/barley cropping farm at Emu Downs in the Mid North of SA. We have resurrected this character old workers quarters which we've turned into a rustic, peaceful abode for you to enjoy. Sleeps four (double bed, single bed and old miners couch,). Bring your own bedding. There is a flushing external toilet and a bush shower (ie: a shower bag, provided). The room with the open fire can be utilised as a kitchen/living area. We've provided crockery, cutlery, glasses, kettles and a camp oven. There is running cold rainwater into the sink. Cooking can be done on the open fire, or use the small camp gas cookers. There is also a gas BBQ with side burner in the open end room. If you are really brave, try your hand at camp oven cooking in the campfire. There is no power, only lighting provided from a small solar panel/battery. Extra guests welcome in tents, swags or vans adjacent to the cottage. To ensure only one group of campers at a time, THE COTTAGE HAS TO BE BOOKED FIRST, then book the extra campers through the additional campsites listing. Talk to me about your needs. Campfires welcome when not in fireban season. You are welcome to bring your own FIREWOOD, or I can supply for $25 a wheelbarrow load. BOOK THIS AS AN EXTRA. The Riverland is an amazing place to visit, full of so many surprises! The variety in the landscape, from harsh limestone plains to beautiful rolling sandhills, to the beauty of the Murry River. There is so much wildlife to see especially when it comes to bird watching! And the area is full of history! In every town you will discover many historical facts and buildings, machines etc. We even have histroy right here on our property!-ruins of an old school. Oh, do I hear you love taking your horse out for trail rides? Well, here's the perfect place for that too! At the campsite - approx 2km away from the farmhouse - you have the privilege of being surrounded by natural scrublands and habitats on the plains. See our mallee, acacias, sugar woods, grevilleas, honeyeaters, wrens, finches, kangaroos, emus & more. And don't forget the stars!! Our night sky is amazing due to very low light interference. At times, wake up to the sounds of sheep bleating and drinking from the trough a few hundred meters away. We have a central campfire area for each site and a double sink connected to river water for washing up and a large prep area on sites 1 & 2. Also on site 1 & 2, just a short walk from the camp fire is an outdoor flushing toilet with hand basin-a luxury for a station stay! Often there are things happening on the farm. Feel welcome to ask if there is anything you can be a part of to add to your holiday experience! We may be moving sheep, shearing, crutching, fencing, feeding the farm animals, milking our house goats etc. Even come for a horse ride (further info in 'Extras")! Well behaved dogs are welcome, but please discuss this with us prior to booking and they must be on a lead at all time. Sites are family friendly. We have a flock of sheep, Crystal our horse who loves attention and a pat as well as chooks and eggs to pick up, children love to ride their push bikes down the hills and through the tracks. Our scrub is perfect for outdoor imagination and bundles of energy. Campers have made cubbies in the trees, tyre swings and set up hammocks for lazy afternoons or a swing.
