We currently require all campers to be fully self-contained, providing their own toilet, water, and power for a true off-grid experience. We are a work-in-progress and constantly chipping away at making things even better! The centrepiece of the campsite is an absolutely stunning stone ruin. We wish the walls could talk to tell us its story! We are currently working on making this space accessible to all our guests. PLEASE NOTE We closed until March 2026 due to high fire danger. Feel free to book ahead. Seven Sisters is perched on the Skilly Hills, the western side of the Clare Valley. Overlooking the Blyth Plains above Kybunga, the views are nothing short of stunning. Nearly every evening brings fabulous sunsets. Ideal for family stays or just a quiet spot to chill out. Bush walking in the Spring Gully National Park is just down the road and within 2klms is the Armagh to Spring Gully trail. Our neighbours include the fabulous Eldridge Wines, one of Clare Valleys best. Close by are many more fabulous wineries and one of the best Gin Distillers (in our opinion) in the Mid North, Sawmill Gin. The local taxi service is very accommodating and happy to come out to Seven Sisters. I believe they will also ferry you to wineries in the area. Seven Sisters is a hilly grassland with wooded areas, creeks and rocky outcrops to explore. Anywhere within our boundary fence is there for you to explore. Our sites on the property are easily accessed. 2 sites on our farm road with a 4th site set at the back of the property which is very secluded. All sites have seasonal fire pits. Please don’t enter the fenced area around the house or go outside our boundary. Ideal for families or just a quiet stay.

This campsite is mostly flat with the Rocky River running through my property, surrounded with river gum trees and plenty of bird life including kookaburras and Corellas. The property is fairly central to the localities of Laura, Stone Hut, Wirrabara, Melrose and Wilmington. Port Pirie is about 50km away if you need any major conveniences or supplies. You will need to be self-contained with your own camping toilet/shower and drinking water supply. We grow veggies on our land - if you would like some for your campfire dinner please ask me. Campfires are allowed. Dogs welcome.

Vagabond Panorama Camp offers something truly special. Set your rig up and kick back at our hilltop campsites, with stunningly beautiful panoramic views of the Flinders Ranges and Spencer Gulf. The location is hard to beat. Fantastic for swimming, kayaking and fishing, with a nearby boat ramp. There's also a community garden and public BBQs close to camp, as well as a sandy beach with mangroves, and a walking track that takes you around the island. Campers must be self-contained as we don't have toilet or shower facilities. You'll have access to water onsite. And you're welcome to bring your pet along! Town is just 10-minute drive away for your essentials.

Lovely views from the hill line out to the west and south from SevenHill. Open space for multiple vehicles if needed. Easy to park up. Due to the exposed nature of the site, better for vans and hard shell camping, not ideal for tents if the weather turns.

Weekend Trip to Cartapo Creek - Farm Stay

Oliver and Chloe were great hosts. The area was cut and ready for us to settle in and relax. The farm location was close enough to go in and spend a great day looking around Burra. And then being far enough away from the traffic and bustle to return to our site and relax and enjoy the sunset. Lovely spot. Would definitely stay again.

We enjoyed staying at Cartapo Creek Farm Stay with Chloe and Oliver. They're a lovely young couple, very welcoming, nothing too much trouble. We had the entire camp ground to ourselves, peaceful, stunning rural setting. We purchased some meat from them and had a camp fire, it was what we needed to escape the hustle and bustle. A nice drive into Burra, stunning farm land, rolling hills and green pastures.

This was our second stay at Mavericks Rest, both overnighters. We really loved the open landscape and peacefulness of being in the countryside. In April 2025 it was very much in drought, while this time it was very green and in good condition. Regardless we loved both times. We’d definitely return if we were passing through. Highly recommended.

Picturesque farm stay with lovely views over surrounding paddocks and range. Hosts are superb friendly and lovely people. Diverse range of farm animals, which is great for kids. The camping sites are well spaced, with trees in between, so we felt we had our own space. Property is well situated for exploring the mid-North and Clare Valley.

We just spent three nights at Cartapo Farm Stay and absolutely loved it. It’s bush camping at its best, with the added security of being able to leave the van and head into the lovely town of Burra for a look around. My granddaughter especially enjoyed feeding the pigs, which was such a highlight for her. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, and the fire at night made for a beautiful, relaxing atmosphere. It was such a peaceful stay, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to spend a few days exploring Burra.

I had a lovely 2 night stay at Cartapo Creek. The arrival instructions and communication were really clear, with clear signage. I ordered some firewood which was ready and waiting, and was a good mixture of kindling and larger logs. My lamb chops for dinner were delicious! I was at site 1 which is the furthest from the house and felt very private. There was someone on Site 3 for one night, close enough to be aware of them but not close enough to impact on my stay.

The old ruin was a great place to photograph our site. It was quiet and you couldn’t hear the noise from the town. It was lovely to see the cows and their calves come and investigate us. We also loved seeing the alpacas frolic in the paddock. They were very inquisitive and such beautiful colours. Some of the boys got out and it made us google the mating regimes of alpacas. Very interesting.
