We live in a beautiful hidden valley on 30 acres, We're joined by friendly dogs, horses, alpacas, rabbits, guinea pigs, 2 lovely Camels, 2 cheeky pigs, Galloway cows and chooks, along with the resident wildlife including many birds, kangaroos, koalas, shy owls, and even an echidna! All this, plus beautiful views from atop our hills, right to the lake, and the delightful winter creek complete with frogs. We are close to the McLaren Vale wine region as well as wineries throughout the Hills and 35 minutes to the coast of Victor Harbor. The Greenman Inn is 5 minutes down the road and has wonderful food from Wed to Sun if you do not feel the urge to cook with wood fires for the cold nights or a gorgeous outdoor area for the warmer months. At present, we offer two areas for camping. Topspot which has lovely views and is quite secluded amongst the tree tops. This site is suitable for tents and camper trailers (need reasonable backing skills and 4WD) The Laneway which is close to the babbling creek is suitable for those with a small caravan, or motorhome, 2WD etc, along with tent campers. (but would struggle with large caravans/motorhomes - please check with hosts) (The Lookout/Highview has spectacular views Please note this site is currently closed due to stock rotation.) If you have any doubts about which to book, please ask. AUTUMN/WINTER MONTHS: if we receive considerable rain the trek up to the hill sites could become slippery and not accessible as it is a farm paddock, therefore unfortunately your booking may need to be cancelled. NOTE: On our farm there is limited phone coverage in the valley (The Laneway). Pets are welcome, however, please ensure they are kept under control (unless discussed with the host) at all times. Please note: This is an active small farm, therefore work may need be continued throughout your stay possibly necessitating the use of machinery and tending to our livestock. This is an operating small sheep farm of over 100ha. For security reasons the exact location is not advertised, but will be disclosed upon arrival on Kangaroo Island. We had a lovely stay at Toondilla 1. Beautiful spot, a wonderful nature getaway. The instructions were very helpful and accurate, the 2 sites are well maintained and far enough apart to ensure peace and privacy. There was plenty of level space for the set up of our camper trailer and annexe. Steve was a very welcoming host and provided great suggestions for exploring the surrounding area. We walked to the bakery for a coffee and pastry each day and enjoyed a meal from the hotel one evening. Would definitely recommend as a lovely camping spot and keen for another visit in the future.

Weekend Trip to Noorla Farm (Happy Camping Ground)

I really loved the farm camp. The host was very kind and had a great sense of humour. They took us on a tour of the whole farm, and we got to pet most of the animals. The guinea pigs were super cute, and there were also calves, piglets, and little ponies! I absolutely loved the farm life. 🐮🐷🐹

A lovely peaceful spot. Steven owner was very helpful & responsive to text messages. A narrow and little steep descent to the site but rewarded when you get down there, perfectly ok if you are a competent driver.

Weekend Trip to Noorla Farm (Happy Camping Ground)

We had amazing experiences here on Sam and Chris' Noorla Farm : ) This was my first ever camp with my 2 boys and we were made to feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. Sam and Chris gave us the right advice and support to get us going as well as a lovely gift of eggs, homemade biscuits and sweets. We stayed at the Laneway and it was beautiful scenery and there was ever present nature including many species of bird calls that we awoke to in the morning, as well as the possums we spotted over night. There was also a kookaburra only a few meters from the tent, waiting in the morning. Sam and Chris very kindly helped us to pack up our new tent that we were struggling with. Quite unbelievable and unexpected. We were so lucky. And to totally cap it off we were treated to meeting all their animals, and my teenage boys got to gain many new experiences from patting camels to holding guinea pigs and collecting eggs. Chris had a great sense of humour when showing us around and was really present and giving of his time. Thank you so much Sam and Chris. We look forward to coming back again!

We had an amazing time at Noorla Farm. Sam was incredibly kind to let us know that our original spot might be unsafe after the heavy rain, so we opted for the Laneway spot instead. We loved being so close to the farm animals, especially the horses. Sam and his wife even showed us around and let us feed them, which was definitely the highlight of our stay. We can definitely feel the love and care they have for their babies. Thank you for the wonderful memories, we’ll definitely be back

Weekend Trip to Noorla Farm (Happy Camping Ground)

We had a wonderful time staying at Sam and Chris’s farm. We loved the Laneway. Fantastic shade with the lovely creek. It overlooked the cows. Sam and Chris introduced us to all their animals. We met the camels, cows, Guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens and more. They were lovely to chat with and we will be back. We really appreciated the welcome basket and the voucher took us to the nearby winery of K1 wines. There are lots of beautiful places to visit nearby. This was a big family gathering for us and we made fantastic memories from it thanks to their hospitality.

Playing fetch can be exhausting, even for a resident farm dog.

Weekend Trip to Camp Toondilla (Clarendon SA)

This spot is a lovely hidden gem. Surrounded by lush green trees and hillside for privacy, I would highly recommend. We even had a little visitor (koala) the first night. The only thing I would say is we found it very hard (with our 22.6ft off road van), to get out, due to a overhanging gum tree at the exit. It was mm from hitting. Other than that, highly recommend.

Highly recommend this stay! It was a great location and the views were stunning. Sam and Chris were lovely people and provided us with a gift basket and took the time to introduce us to all their beautiful animals. Very convenient that the camp spots have toilets as well!

We had a great time with our dog & kids. Entry was a bit tricky with the longer van (21ft) but once we were in it was lovely. Steven popped over to say hi and told us to where to look for koalas & possums.

Amazing views !! A beautifully kept site , with a clean private portaloo, firepit, wooden table and bench seat . I had a lovely relaxing time at the Topspot site , also was lucky enough to help feed the animals , pat a camel ,a friendly pig and my favourite the cows with their babies!! Hosts were very welcoming, and I was given a little goody basket on arrival! I will definitely be back and bring the hubby and dog next time . Truly is a fabulous spot to camp , I would recommend to anyone 😁

What a beautiful spot and such a lovely hosts. Our kids loved exploring and seeing lots of kangaroos. Our kids absolutely fell in love with Lola their dog who would come when the kids called her and played all day long with them such a highlight! Hosts were so accommodating and great with communication we will 100 % be back again (our kids want to come back every weekend!) Thanks again! Best off grid stay so far!

We were welcomed with a lovely welcome pack amd smiles! Although we didn't end up staying because it was raining so hard, we did get to pat the camels and see the animals! Sam refunded me without me even asking which was very kind. Would recommend :)
