Where to start ! James and his wife were the perfect hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them Their wines are outstanding. Didn’t find a wine we didn’t like. The views from the winery were beautiful and it was lovely to have it all to ourselves at night. Compliments to the chef.. his paella was amazing. Would be worth a trip back just to taste it We had full use of their very clean toilets and a water tap was nearby. We parked by the vines but if we went again during the week we would definitely take advantage of the pitch at the winery that has spectacular views 11/10 👏👏👏

Conveniently located within walking distance to the main street of Clarendon - five minutes to the Bakery and 10 minutes to the Royal Oak Hotel and General Store! The property offers the best views of Clarendon via a short walk to the top paddock. There is a limit of 2 private, protected campsites near the creek, each well-maintained and level, with scattered gum trees that provide lovely shade in the morning and afternoon. We live in a beautiful hidden valley on 30 acres, We're joined by friendly dogs, horses, alpacas, rabbits, guinea pigs, 2 lovely Camels, Galloway cows and chooks, along with the resident wildlife including many birds, kangaroos, koalas, shy owls, and even an echidna! All this, plus beautiful views from atop our hills, right to the lake, and the delightful winter creek complete with frogs. We are close to the McLaren Vale wine region as well as wineries throughout the Hills and 35 minutes to the coast of Victor Harbor. The Greenman Inn is 5 minutes down the road and has wonderful food from Wed to Sun if you do not feel the urge to cook with wood fires for the cold nights or a gorgeous outdoor area for the warmer months. At present, we offer two areas for camping. Topspot which has lovely views and is quite secluded amongst the tree tops. This site is suitable for tents and camper trailers (need reasonable backing skills and 4WD) The Laneway which is close to the babbling creek is suitable for those with a small caravan, or motorhome, 2WD etc, along with tent campers. (but would struggle with large caravans/motorhomes - please check with hosts) (The Lookout/Highview has spectacular views Please note this site is currently closed due to stock rotation.) If you have any doubts about which to book, please ask. AUTUMN/WINTER MONTHS: if we receive considerable rain the trek up to the hill sites could become slippery and not accessible as it is a farm paddock, therefore unfortunately your booking may need to be cancelled. NOTE: On our farm there is limited phone coverage in the valley (The Laneway). Pets are welcome, however, please ensure they are kept under control (unless discussed with the host) at all times. Please note: This is an active small farm, therefore work may need be continued throughout your stay possibly necessitating the use of machinery and tending to our livestock. If you wish to see some of the animals up close, please let us know and we will try to accommodate. We ask that all fires be contained within the fire pit provided and a portable toilet is available for your use. You can set up camp and be sipping a wine or hot beverage in the bush tranquility in less than an hour from most suburbs . The campsite is set on a hill with a view . It is not a parkland but offers a true taste of nature with native grass and vegetation . approx 15 mins from Magill and about 40 mins to the CBD / small caravans ok . Bushwalk on the property or Rock climb at nearby Morialta falls / hike Cleland / Mt Lofty or use the Grove as a base to expore the nearby Heysen trail , the many bakeries , eateries , wineries, breweries and distilleries nearby . Visit historic Marble Hill residence on open days, or enjoy many of the many events the Adelaide hills has on offer. We have a workshop if u need some help with repairs on the road, large gravel car park for bigger set ups (we hace a 26 tonne horse truck so we can accomodate you longer rigs!), also have onsite BNB if ur wanting a bed and a hot shower! Let us know what you need and we would be only too happy to help. we spend 25 weekends of the year competing all around Australia and overseas with our horses so we certainly know what its like to have somewhere safe to come and rest your head..

Being self contained is essential. Our toilets are only accessible when the cellar door is open.
