You will have access to our beautiful peaceful surroundings, with adequate shelter under some lovely big trees park your camper or pitch a swag. We also have a nice running creek that you can enjoy watching our many wildlife that are present throughout the creek, fish, eels and turtles. It's truly a very private and relaxing spot to chill out and enjoy camping for a few days or whatever suits your needs while passing the area. Plenty of fantastic swimming holes nearby including Josephine falls and Babinda boulders very popular spots for tourist and the locals. Site 1 right down on the creek large grass flat space big enough for two families to set up camp. The creek runs around the outside so there are a number of viewing points to see the wildlife mentioned above. A set of solar lights hang over the firepit area allowing for more light while cooking on our wonderful swinging hotplate BBQ. Site 2 Our newer spot work in progress not so ideal for camper trailers. your situated under our tree line away from the main creek. A smaller paver firepit, plenty fine for sitting around an open fire while watching the stars at night. Swimming in the creek is not recommended. So please check by internal message before confirming your booking that way we can confirm a spot while discussing your needs to ensure you have a clear view of your camping area. Onsite we have our shared outhouse porta toilet which is positioned in the middle of both camping areas for everyone's convenience. Tolga Caravan Park is situated on the Kennedy Highway at the northern end of the Tolga Scrub, the last remnants of the endangered Mabi Rainforest in the region. The Scrub is home to an abundant variety of local wildlife, including the Spectacled Flying Fox – with the Scrub being their only permanent camp on the Tablelands. We have easy access, large, grassy, flat sites with some drive through sites available. We offer powered and un-powered sites. The Rail Trail can be accessed to the rear of the property offering guests a great walking or bike riding trail with direct access to Atherton and to the Tolga Hotel. A few places to explore are Lake Tinaroo, Paronella Park, Yungaburra platypus viewing, Crater Lakes, Herberton Historic Museum, Millaa Millaa Waterfalls, Curtain Fig Tree and Gallo Dairy Farm to name a few. Boonjie is a great place to base yourself to visit the amazing sights in the surrounding area! Our property has beautiful native visitors, including the occasional cassowary, and regular morning choir of ground dwelling chowachillas. This campsite suits self reliant and self contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower, and water supply. Lamins Hill lookout, and the entrances to Windin Falls, and the famous trek up Queensland’s Highest Mountain, are only minutes away. So too, are the Atherton Tablelands‘ crater lakes, Eacham & Barrine, and the small town of Malanda, with its iconic falls, both designated swimming destinations, though, highlights are the clear creeks between there and Boonjie (means mate). This is near “Top Camp”, where First Nations people would arrive after the gruelling walk up the Russel River, from the coast, where Innisfail now stands (Innisfail can be seen from the top road). With evidence of European and Chinese gold miners, from the 1900’s, this spot is both remote AND central, for a day trip to Millaa Millaa’s extraordinary Falls circuit, Herberton’s Historical Village and the flowered and funky Yungaburra.

Great site - especially for children! Our preschool aged children enjoyed feeding the chickens and spotting for wildlife at night (though they were too loud to see much!) I was incredibly impressed that there were no mosquitos!!! Shame we only had one night - but it was worth it and the area surrounding is beautiful - stunning waterfalls, and they’re quiet with no other visitors first thing in the morning!

A wonderful camp spot, perfect for those who enjoy lowkey camping or those with kids! A shower and toilet felt like a luxury. Camp fire under the stars with so many beautiful flowers scattered around the gardens. The temperature at this time of year was incredible too, just enough for long sleeve pajamas and sitting by the fire.

Three Falls is a fabulously tranquil spot within an easy distance to many waterfalls, hikes and local attractions. Nisha is a lovely host and she made us feel very welcome. The camping spot is very private, away from the main house with a short walk to the amenities. Highly recommend to others.

Beautiful little private spot next to the creek filled with fish and turtles. There were small rubbish and recycling bins provided, as well as an outhouse with a portable toilet which was kept very clean. Couldn’t swim in the creek as there has been recent croc sighting nearby but still great to camp by.

Miyuki and Larry have curated a very special spot next to a beautiful creek. Feeding the turtles was a highlight, as was the massage my partner received from Miyuki, she said it was amazing and perfectly relaxing. They have a communal portable toilet that is immaculately kept. It was extremely private, we could have been miles from anyone. 10/10 would recommend 👌

We had a lovely couple of nights staying at this lovely private camp and would highly recommend. Nicely maintained with clean and functional toilet/shower facilities. Very green, plenty of space and safe for the kids to run around and explore. We rode our bikes, hung out with the chickens, said hello to the cows across the road, enjoyed a campfire and the fabulous views at sunset. Thanks Nisha!

We absolutely loved our stay at Possum Gully. Site 1 was secluded, and while the creek wasn’t fully flowing, it was ankle deep and suited us with our 2.5yo. We went up the first night to watch the animals being fed and this was the absolute highlight! I would recommend this to any friends looking for a lowkey stay that’s private and quiet

4 nights at Wally's Roost

The site (we had site 3) was very open with plenty of space for tents and cars. It had a bathroom block where we set our portable toilet and shower - Way better than setting up our ensuite. The creek was minimal during our time (dry season) but still enough to entertain the kids and cool off. With a bit of rain it would be amazing during the wet season. We had local furry creatures visit us a few times when the site was quiet. Also, on the property, we saw a Frilled Neck Lizard over a metre long... we called him 'Fred'. -Amazing There are 2 approx. 20 min drives to Mareeba for necessities, we took the back roads. Saw a Brown snake, a lot of rural living and farm land. The hosts are lovely and respect privacy. We will be going back without the kids to enjoy the peace Wally's Roost has to offer.

Camped for one night at Site 1 - Possum Gully. This camp site was well maintained, clean and spacious for multiple vehicles with a camp fire pit provided. This was the most secluded site of the three and only a short walk to the portaloo. Phil and Janette were both excellent hosts, supplying us with firewood for our stay. They invited guests to attend their nightly feedings of the wildlife which was a great experience. Janette shared a wealth of knowledge about the animals and we were lucky enough to see many animals, including Sparkles the possum and her new twin babies. I would highly recommend this camp site to others travelling through the Atherton region. I would definitely camp here again.
