Bajool Camp to Great Keppel Island

A sleepy stay near Rockhampton and the gateway to Yeppoon coastline and Great Keppel Island. 

You can pitch a tent, park your vans, explore the town, anything you wish!

Bajool is located on the Bruce Highway, 35 km south of Rockhampton and 74 km north of Gladstone. Eight-Mile Creek flows to the east of the town.

Guests must be fully self contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste with them on departure.

Campfires are welcome in the fire pit.

Meyenburg Glamping, Mt Morgan

Mount Morgan is situated on the Dee River, 38 km south of Rockhampton, and is an old gold mining town with lots of history and two museums, a railway and a town history museum. There are plenty of lookouts to see out over the town and the mine site. The Number 7 Dam, has walking and mountain bike tracks for beginners and the more advanced.

We have 6 listings available at Meyenburg B&B Glamping, 2 tent sites for campers and 6 Tents which have linen included  and creature comforts.

All our listings have access to toilet and amenities.

Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash and cleaned up after.

Mount Morgan was a mining town. Mining of clay in a nearby hill for the production of furnace bricks continuing until the early 1900s, the resulting man-made caves came to be known as the Fireclay Caverns, which contained large openings that measure between 4–12 metres in height from the cave floor. Dinosaur footprints (preserved as infills) were later found in nine different sections of the Caverns, lining the ceiling dated to the Early Jurassic.

There is also a community swimming pool, skate park and general playground near the Dee River on Butler St. The town has three pubs, an IGA, and a small general store directly across the street from the camp site. The Grand Hotel is the oldest pub, and is still trading in town.

Come and enjoy this exclusive campsite for families and/or groups, set on a 165 acre property.&nbsp;Campers will enjoy access to spring fed dam for fishing and paddling. Or just sit back, relax&nbsp;and have a BBQ. There are breathtaking misty morning views with sunsets over Lake Mary Valley and unbelievable night time star gazing. There is&nbsp;hill climbs and bird watching around creeks and dam.There is plenty to do and see in the area. Take a 15 minute drive into Yeppoon, the gateway to Great Keppel Island and the wonders of the Southern Great Barrier Reef.The Capricorn Coast also delivers with ease when it comes to sourcing a fine feed with specialty produce like premium, export quality beef, seafood, and tropical produce. There is a wide range of restaurants, cafés and clubs catering to all tastes and budgets.

Our campsites are located in a rural setting with plenty of shady trees, friendly cows and mountain views close to the Fitzroy River. Relax around a campfire on a peaceful dam and listen to the kookaburras. Dip your toes into the cool water whilst sipping watching the sunset. 

It is 10km to the upgraded Fitzroy River/Thompson Point boat ramp and pontoon. Enjoy some excellent fishing and crabbing on the river, bird watching and bush walking up the many hills.  Only 1/2 hr. drive to the beaches (Emu Park and Yeppoon), National Parks (Mt Etna Caves, Mt Archer Baga, Limestone Creek), and Rockhampton (Kershaw Gardens and Rockhampton Free Zoo). 

Campfires in the firepits provided on each site.  Pre-cut fire wood for sale on site. Pets are welcome, however the must be kept within your allocated campsite area and supervised at all time. (Dogs are not allowed to chase livestock or native animals). Quiet genset are also allowed.

Definitely no boats to be backed into the dam for washing purposes. Fish cleaning and boat washing facilities at the solar bore near front entrance. Telstra mobile reception. TV reception with antenna. We a setup for fully self contained camping, however there is a basic bush shower/toilet available for our campers.

The dam is a pristine eco area and no soap/detergents/chemicals to used in/around it. The dam is stocked with silver perch and bass – catch and release.

Camp site caters for 2 Adults and up to 4 kids per site.
