Weekend Trip to Tremayne - The Old Avocado Farm

We stayed two nights at Hill Top Orchard which was exactly what we were looking for a nice serene location to chill for a couple of days. Everything was ideal with Neil meeting us at the gate and taking us to our site. The grass was mowed and the place was spotless. We enjoyed a camp fire looking out into the valley nestled amongst 80 year old avocado trees. We called over to Maleny which was a nice drive and had a coffee before returning to the bliss amongst the trees. Thank you Neil & Joss for opening up your stunning property and allowing our little cavoodle dog to camp with us that was awesome. In summary was a perfect couple of days. Neil always checked in each day to see if we needed wood and for a chat. As strong 10/10 from us. Thanks for everything

Richard and Jen are amazing hosts, with a spectacular property. Total bliss. The tropical surrounds and wildlife made for an incredible escape from reality. We even had the chance to take our outdoor projector for its maiden voyage! Can’t wait until next visit!

Our family had a wonderful stay on Phil’s property! So spacious and peaceful with lovely views of a morning and afternoon. Our kids loved being close to the cows and horses, especially being able to feed the cows. Phil was extremely helpful and ensured we had a great stay. Our site was very spacious and fit our caravan perfectly. We will definitely visit again!

Weekend Trip to Turkey's Nest Rainforest Cottages

Loved the cozy get away at the Macadamia Lodge. Being able to disconnect from the world and enjoy each other's company was just what we needed to hit pause on our busy lives. No social media, no news, no rushing around. Just relaxing. The boardgames provided were more than enough to keep us entertained and the fireplace was warm enough for the whole room well into the night. Was a very successful surprise birthday get away for us and we definitely highly recommend visiting! If you're one to enjoy a movie or two, Rosemary and Russell are more than happy to provide a tv and DVD player.

From our eyes we stayed one night , we loved the beautiful view of the mountain for sunset and sunrise, we enjoyed having bbq dinner and a winter fire there’s two spots for having a fire and camp set up, having the water tank hoses is handy for clean up and washing whatever is needed, the camp spot is dog friendly we had our two dogs with us, wasn’t to sure on what was the camp property and not for walking the dogs there’s other properties and some farming areas but the camp spot is a only a 5 minute drive to mount Ngungun which is handy, the only down side is there is no toilets or showers as is stated on the Hipcamp app and the other down side is you are next to a little busy road but those are the only two downsides so if you are looking for a cheap close place to stop in for a nice sunset and sunrise which is close to Ngungun then this is perfect for a one night stop. Somerset Dam is 40minutes away and you are able to use your own motorised equipment there. PLEASE if booking individually but you intend to join a larger group please message me on hipcamp after you have booked telling me the names of people you would like to camp with so I can allocate a space large enough to fit you all. Also please note we have 24 sites only, however some of these sites can easily fit 40 people therefore on Hipcamp it can show lots of availability when in fact that may not be the case. Our 1km private driveway is rough but if driven to conditions a 2wd has no issues.Most of the time space is abundant however if choosing to come on a long weekend, Easter or New Years expect it to be a lot busier than your average weekend with larger groups camping together, however still plenty of space between groups. You won’t ever have to trip over your neighbours tent ropes here. Eco friendly lakefront and near to lake front sites. Please don’t arrive expecting lakefront, our sites are all near to and Depending on group size not everyone will have lake frontage. We can never guarantee requests. We assign sites based on numbers and camping equipment. Furtherest camp spot is approximately 500m from amenities block, however porta loos are located in the remote site but it’s a walk or drive back to the showers. We are located 50km from Brisbane CBD, 1km from the Warrego Hwy, Sundowner Saloon and the country township of Marburg. We have a several cattle and horses, and regularly kangaroo, hare, and eagles frequent the farm. All overseen and kept in order by the ever present "Ziggy" and "Harvey" our lovely English Pointers. Enjoy lovely views and relaxed peaceful settings. The farm is off grid but all the normal services are available. We also have a little vegie garden that always needs a water, and the animals love their carrots and grain. Close to Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, Fernvale, Upper Brisbane River and Wivenhoe districts. In the area, you may want to check out the township of Marburg (local pub, shops and coffee), Sundowner Hotel, Savages Crossing, or the RAAF Amberley Heritage Museum (plan ahead). Friendly pets welcome as long as they are kept under control and are not a danger to the livestock. Field of Dreams takes no responsibility for the safety of visiting animals. Please note: Owner lives on-site next to the camp site. Shared site and facilities including shared firepit with up to 4 other groups of campers. It is a great spot for scenic photography, a base to explore the many hikes and climbs from in the surrounding National Parks. This site is located in the middle of the Glass House Mountains with wonderful views of Mt Coonowrin. Note: This site does not have any toilet or shower facilities so you will need to be a self-contained camper and bring your own. You can bring your own firewood from local service stations or other sources to be used in the firepit. Bring your hiking gear, your mountain bike and definitely bring your camera as the views are stellar. The craggy peaks of the Glass House Mountains tower above the surrounding landscape. They are so significant that they are listed on the Queensland and National Heritage Register as a landscape of national significance. Walking tracks lead through a variety of open forests to lookouts with panoramic views of the mountains. Some tracks are suitable for all levels of fitness and others include more challenging grades including rock scrambling skills. There are other challenging summit routes and climbing sites for experienced rockclimbers and abseilers. Or you might want to pull up a hammock and just laze the day away.
