Mount Morgan is situated on the Dee River, 38 km south of Rockhampton, and is an old gold mining town with lots of history and two museums, a railway and a town history museum. There are plenty of lookouts to see out over the town and the mine site. The Number 7 Dam, has walking and mountain bike tracks for beginners and the more advanced. Mining of clay in a nearby hill for the production of furnace bricks continuing until the early 1900s, the resulting man-made caves came to be known as the Fireclay Caverns, which contained large openings that measure between 4–12 metres in height from the cave floor. Dinosaur footprints (preserved as infills) were later found in nine different sections of the Caverns, lining the ceiling dated to the Early Jurassic. There is also a community swimming pool, skate park and general playground near the Dee River on Butler St. The town has three pubs, an IGA, and a small general store directly across the street from the camp site. The Grand Hotel is the oldest pub, and is still trading in town.

Great tucked away campsite in the trees , maybe a 4-5 minute drive into Agnes water, showers and amenities were nice , we stayed in a glamping tent for once and found it awesome not having to setup, had a little 12v setup in there with chargers for phones etc and a fan and lights.

We had the most wonderful stay here, it was so calm and peaceful listening to the sounds of nature. The cabin is beautiful, it had everything we needed including a mini fridge since we came without any camping gear. We would definitely come back to stay, gorgeous spot to get some much needed R&R without the hassle of packing all of the camping gear. Our only complaint is that we should have stayed for longer!

We stayed at 1770 Eco Camp, Green Tree (top of the hill) campground for 7 days/6 nights over Christmas break 204. We got a family glamping tent, although not as spacious as we thought, it can fairly accomodate a mid-to small-size family of 4 like ours. The setting, the surroundings and the view are breathtaking. The tents comfortable enough with 12V/USB power ports available in the tent as well as 2 little fans to help through the heat of the hottest hours of the day. The nights are as tranquil and peaceful as one may ever wish. The facilities are really good, brand new toilets, showers, shared kitchen and so it is the campground that is well kept and looked after. There is a beautiful deck facing the Eurimbula National Park for yoga and fitness activities as well as a covered Pavillion for functions and/or sun bathing in the late afternoon. Right next to the deck there's a magnesium pool (small but gorgeous) where unwind before of after the beach. Everything was fine and the close proximity to the town centre of Agnes Waters and it's pristine beaches makes it even more attractive. Only negative: in my opinion the management should do more to enforce the rules (of common sense) within the campground itself as many guests plainly ignore them for lack of basic civic education. I get that it's hard to police every single person but as a hospitality establishment, the deed of educating their clientele is on them, to preserve the reputation of the business itself.

Weekend Trip to 1770 Eco Camp, Agnes Water

The glamping tent was great and super convenient, a little bit hot during the days, but that's where the amazing pool was super handy. So relaxing floating in the Infinity pool for hours. Highly recommend this camp ground, lots of amenities at your finger tips and made cooking and keeping food and drinks cool a breeze. Shout out to the amazing and super friendly staff! 10/10 will be back again, Thank you 1770 Eco Camp.
