We had an excellent overnight stay here, was great to have access to clean, functional amenities with flushing toilets and hot showers.
The campsite is mostly level and comfortable. Was a a unique opportunity to see the magnificent Clydesdales and foals!
Our Labrador had ample space for exercise. We highly recommend this site for a unique farm experience near Rockhampton.

Beautiful place with everything you need. We had a short stop over but loved having the animals around us. Our dog (Aussiedoodle) played really well with the other farm dogs and we will def recommend it.

A great overnight stay at this property where the kids enjoyed seeing the horses, cows and goats. Best to be self-sufficient with cooking facilities and bathroom if you don’t like a rustic bathroom. Great spot.

We loved camping at Shiralee Clydesdale farmstay. We were the only ones there but they made us feel very welcome. The kids loved the friendly dogs, horses, chickens and goats. It is very rustic so if you need 5 star bathroom facilities make sure your caravan has your own. Great value for money and lots to see and do around Rockhampton City and the coast.

Quiet spot. Got to meet the Clydesdale at feeding time (4.30pm). Friendly farm dogs kept ours company. Host (Tony) was friendly and happy to show us the animals. Simple, no hassle spot.

Nice convenient location close to Rockhampton at a quarter of the price of Holiday Parks in town. Lots of space to set up, close to others or as far away as you want. Toilets and showers have a rustic farm feel. Friendly cows hanging around camp. Host and caretaker easy to deal with

We arrived a little late in the day and were met with friendly dogs and the very friendly care taker Wayne.
Lovely spot with a nice firepit and Wayne helped us get some bits of wood together.
Overall I would describe the place as rustic, friendly and beautiful.
Also very convenient next to the freeway for easy access.

If you are on route and need a quick stopover without anything fancy this is it. Be completely self sufficient and you can enjoy looking at the little water hole and the big ol’ Clydesdales. The dogs are friendly as was the host that met us. Not much more. The facilities were not for us.

The flushing toilet and shower had NO water and looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned this century! There were no doors to ‘amenities’ either.
The ‘host’ was grumpy and hardly talked. Thank goodness we are self sufficient. The area was beautiful and has a lot of potential but I can’t see things improving in the near future ☹️☹️☹️

We think this camp-site has wonderful potential, and we'd like to give feedback on the challenges that we faced which might help give an idea on how to change it for the better for future campers.
Some challenges We faced:
- Toilets and showers were more dirty than what is acceptable for such a location.
- toilets did not flush properly
- loose cows and horses which invaded our camp-site and were hard to move on.
- ants nests located fairly regularly around property which made it hard to find a good spot to set up camp.
Besides these, access to Rockhampton was a breeze, it was right on the highway and very close.
Privacy was great.
The grounds keeper was very kind.
There was a lot to see around the camp-site, with old vehicles, beautiful horses and cows from a distance, a nice dam.
A spot for kids to play.
We'd love to come back, but we'd think the property could use some more basic maintanence.

The site was as described, peaceful, surrounded by nature with tall trees and wildlife. Waking up to birds and fresh air was perfect. The hosts were friendly, and the spot was well-kept. Great for a nature escape!

It was a great location. Lovely guy, but the toilets a showers needed some work . An a bit of a heads up about the cattle n horse that come through the fences throughout the night. Great for an overnight stay but wouldn’t stay any longer.

Love this place and recommend it’s a a tranquil setting and Friendly host - However although not his fault, we recommend the host considers enforcing a strict rule around campers travelling with pets and verbalise it upon entry. We were only one of 3 visitors there Thursday night (travelled up for a funeral next day) An inconsiderate van owner went out in the morning leaving their little dog locked inside their van which made our otherwise restful morning intolerable. I like animals but this person is delusional if they think leaving a radio on prevents non-stop yapping of their dog. Having to deal with constant barking CONSTANT!!! all morning brought on a headache so we packed up and left early.

Only a quick overnight stop for us, but plenty of room to have your own space. Hosts were very accommodating and friendly. Cows were very friendly. Amenities were average and would benefit from some improvements.
