Moogerah Lakeside Bush Retreat is a small family owned and operated campground on the shores of Beautiful lake Moogerah in the heart of the Scenic Rim, SEQLD.
We are conveniently located only 2km from the Cunningham Hwy and are set in a quiet bush location surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the Scenic Rim. We have a range of accommodation including powered and unpowered camp sites, group camp areas, bunk style cabins and a fully self-contained cabin.
There is never a shortage of things to do, you can take a canoe or boat out for a cruise on the lake or try your luck at some fishing. Moogerah is well known for its large Bass & Yellow belly. There is a good bushwalk at the property that takes you out to Striker point and into the gorge waterfall with spectacular views along the way. If you have a 4wd you can take a short drive up to Spicers Gap National Park. Here there is a short walk out to the Governors Chair lookout with spectacular views of the Fassifern Valley and beyond.
We currently don't have a boat ramp however once you have launched your boat at the public boat ramp we have a nice bay in front of the campground where you can anchor your boat.

Please note: 10 km of this route is gravel road. 4x4 vehicle access is recommended.
Option 2:
From the Centenary Freeway roundabout, at ripley head 21 km along Ripley Road, which continues and changes name to Undullah Road.
This route is 4x4 access is recommended with some narrow bends – please drive to conditions. We do have 2 wheel drives make the journey !

The location of the Treehouse was chosen by our then young children. We all fell in love with the magnificent camphor laurel tree growing at the edge of the seasonal creek.
We all found ourselves drawn to that place, so with the help of our friends and our children we began the project of manifesting a dream into a reality - the dream of living in the tree canopy.
As we worked on the Treehouse, the design was constantly changing. The whole family, especially our youngest son, contributed to the manifestation of the dream. During that time we overcame many obstacles and found solutions to build in the tree. It was an adventure, a lot of fun and we learnt a lot.
It became a dwelling for our kids for a period of time, until they grew up and left to conquer the big wide world.
Now it is here for you to enjoy, to reconnect with your dreams, to dive deep into your childhood playful memories where the world of fantasy and reality merge together.

Sleeping arrangements: We have a custom-made inner spring mattress that is an unusual size due to the vintage age of the vintage caravan & therefore the size, is in between a King-single & double size width & a queen-size length (which may or may not be big enough for 2 people depending on your sleeping expectations). The actual measurements are: 1.13M wide & 2M long. There is also a separate king single-size bed, on the other side of the caravan, suitable for another adult, a child or two small children.
All linen and bath towels etc are provided. The caravan is cosy, with a TV, stereo, fridge, sink, wardrobe & storage space.
The property is not far from the beautiful bathhouses of Mullumbimby too ie Kiva Spa & Banya bathhouse

The location of the Treehouse was chosen by our then young children. We all fell in love with the magnificent camphor laurel tree growing at the edge of the seasonal creek.
We all found ourselves drawn to that place, so with the help of our friends and our children we began the project of manifesting a dream into a reality - the dream of living in the tree canopy.
As we worked on the Treehouse, the design was constantly changing. The whole family, especially our youngest son, contributed to the manifestation of the dream. During that time we overcame many obstacles and found solutions to build in the tree. It was an adventure, a lot of fun and we learnt a lot.
It became a dwelling for our kids for a period of time, until they grew up and left to conquer the big wide world.

Sleeping arrangements: We have a custom-made inner spring mattress that is an unusual size due to the vintage age of the vintage caravan & therefore the size, is in between a King-single & double size width & a queen-size length (which may or may not be big enough for 2 people depending on your sleeping expectations). The actual measurements are: 1.13M wide & 2M long. There is also a separate king single-size bed, on the other side of the caravan, suitable for another adult, a child or two small children.
All linen and bath towels etc are provided. The caravan is cosy, with a TV, stereo, fridge, sink, wardrobe & storage space.
The property is not far from the beautiful bathhouses of Mullumbimby too ie Kiva Spa & Banya bathhouse
We are a pet-friendly property. If you wish to bring your friendly pet, they are welcome, but we charge a fee of $25 . Please select that you have a pet when making your booking. We also request that you kindly ensure that your pet does not go inside the caravan or on any of the furniture including the bed, lounge etc. If there is dog hair in the van or on the couch we may need to charge an extra cleaning fee.

Our property is a 150 acre working organic produce and cattle farm with undulating land, lush green grass, mountain views and a creek surrounded by ferns. The camp site is hilltop with amazing views including that of Mount Lindsay, Mount Barney and the Border Ranges.
Most times there are animals for children to pet, baby rabbits, calves, lambs etc. In September-October we have fireflies at the creek.
We can take 2WD. Be in touch so we can let you know what the local conditions are.
The Lodgings are a neat and clean 2007 caravan suitable for two adults and three small children. All linen is provided. The caravan is powered so has lights, heating and cooling, cooking, kettle, hot water etc
Although we are dog friendly NO DOGS are allowed in the caravan
Amenities (toilet, shower) and self contained kitchen including fridge, stovetop, oven and grill, is provided in the van. Kettle, Tea and Coffee provided
Kyogle village is a 20 min drive. supermarket, butchers, locally crafted giftware, clothes and furniture
Kyogle is known as a "gateway" to many national parks including Border Ranges National Park and Toonumbar National Park.

14 nights at Trickling Waters Retreat
This glamping tent at Trickling waters was the most peaceful and calm place I’ve been in a long time. There really is a trickling stream! The buzz at dusk is a strange kind of deafening too (frogs, crickets, cicadas). I needed a place to decompress over the holidays and this place did not disappoint. All the privacy I needed but the hosts were just an inbox away if I needed anything at all. To top it off this place is dog friendly and the creek was a perfect cool off for mine!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We had the Koala Cottage for two nights. It had all the creature comforts of home which was nice as the heavens opened up on our first night. Very well appointed, great stock in the kitchen with adequate utensils, appliances etc. would recommend to friends and family and will definately stay again. Only wish is that there was a boat ramp or a pontoon to get out past the reeds and tree stumps. I scraped and cut my foot on a tree root trying to go for a swim. A little dangerous for someone unsteady. It would be nice if there was a convenience shop even for icecream for the kids would be a plus! But, we had a fantastic time nevertheless. Thankyou to the caretakers for making us feel welcome!

Awesome experience. Rita site manager. Was amazing so helpful great local knowledge and extremely friendly. all the kids that visit had a fantastic time down by the lake as well as just riding their bikes around the site had a great relaxing stay. Ben and Megan greeted me as they were doing work around the camp and they were lovely all round. Great experience thanks very much. A big thumbs up.

We totally loved our stay at Karen's place. The location is beautifully rural but still only 15 minutes from the beach. The accommodation is comfortable and the whole space feels very inviting. Karen and her helper are great hosts, and chatting with them enhanced our stay even more. A truly wonderful stay and hope to visit again :)

Perfect location ! Just what my wife and dog wanted. Very well equipped luxury off road caravan. Fabulous surroundings and relaxing. Fire pit provided and fire wood 👍. The pub down the road is superb with live music. Steve is great and very accommodating. Dogs welcome. Cannot fault and will be back 😀

Weekend Trip to Barachi by the Creek
We stayed at Barrachi Camp with a mate and honestly had the best time. It was the perfect little escape from Byron — so peaceful, private, and beautifully tucked away on the farm. Peter and Tania have created something really special there, a cosy cabin that feels completely nestled in nature while still being super comfortable. We loved the quiet, the privacy, and just slowing down for a couple of days. We’ll definitely be back, and next time we’ll bring more friends to share this gem. Highly recommend if you’re after a proper reset.

Several families of ours spent a truly unforgettable Christmas here. There was plenty of space for children to play, and we could also set up tents outdoors. We enjoyed barbecuing together and singing, and it was all very relaxing.
The environment is beautiful and quiet. In the mornings, we could see mist rolling through the mountains, which made the whole experience especially peaceful and refreshing.
The host was very kind and patiently explained how everything worked. We highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing getaway.

1 night at Mystic Adventures
We visited Mystic Adventures on Christmas Day as a group of four and had an absolutely amazing time. It felt like camping but with everything provided, which made the experience very comfortable and stress free.
Even though it was a very hot day, we really enjoyed ourselves and made great memories. The setup was thoughtful and well organised, allowing us to relax and just enjoy the getaway. One of the highlights was the cute little park area for children with lights everywhere, which created such a lovely and welcoming atmosphere.
A special mention to Kathryn, who was incredibly warm, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. She truly made us feel comfortable and added a personal touch to the whole experience.
Overall, Mystic Adventures is perfect for couples, families, or friends who want a camping style experience without the hassle. We would definitely recommend it and would love to return.
