Weekend Trip to Otford Park nr Royal National Park

Gorgeous quiet campsite under the Otford park tree canopy, dog friendly, great little kitchen and bathrooms. Natasha was very helpful and even kindly did a firewood run for us! Highly recommend :)

Weekend Trip to The Printery

The printery is the most perfect place to stay if you are exploring the northern beaches. The bed is so big and comfy, easy parking and the manly dam at the end of the street, it’s a perfect little nature getaway! And the best part is the outdoor shower, a real little tropical oasis and you can have a piping hot shower under the stars ✨ J.S is the most amazing host too, very accommodating and friendly, a real gem of a stay 💎

Weekend Trip to Banjo's Retreat

We were the only ones camping on the night we were at Banjo’s Retreat. Torrential rain made towing a caravan with a regular SUV a little tricky but Barry was super helpful to take the stress out of a day when Mother Nature wasn’t so happy! Recommend the first area, Wedding paddock in really bad weather, otherwise Sunset Paddock out the back is a beautiful spot. Barry will guide you accordingly!

Great little spot! It rained while we were there but would have loved to see the place dry to really make the most of it. We had Arena area to ourselves and our young children were safe running around. Access is a little tight in places and if towing definitely 4WD needed. We stayed with Jayco Swift but didn’t have any problems. Amenities were fabulous! Would come again. Thank you for having us Natasha

Natasha has an excellent spot here. So quiet & peaceful, great amenities. Was a great night enjoying nothing but sounds of rain and the surrounding wildlife. Property is densely packed with huge trees, it feels like you’re camped isolated in the middle of the national park.

Natasha was a great host and her arena is a terrific quiet location surrounded by great bushland. Amenities were great with the big outdoor bath the highlight. Great central location to vist the Sydney Royal Park as well as the southern NSW coast. Would stay again in this secluded spot.

Epic spot! Very tucked away from the main road, well hidden in the trees. Plenty of space for all campers.

1 night at Lakestead Farm

Absolutely beautiful location with lots of your own space without other campers being on-top on you. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a low key camping spot to relax. Close to shops and freeway as well. The birds in the afternoon were so cool to see!! Will definitely be back again :)

Had such a fantastic time. The sites were quite spread out. Even though it was the Easter Long weekend it was still private. Will definitely be back

The perfect Hipcamp! Barry’s property is stunning! Surrounded by beautiful trees you feel a million miles from the big smoke but only 25 mins to beach’s! Wyong just down the road for coffee and supplies. Can’t wait to come back!

Scared there wasn’t many options during the Easter break, we found this little gem. Busy but spacious, relaxing and a great little track down to the plot. 4 of us and a dog, there was plenty of room for all, only 7mins from town, with plenty of amenities and things to do. The host Barry and Jo are lovely and take great care of their property and guests, and shows in how popular the grounds were. Will return happily specially as it’s a short trip from the CBD.

Otford is a historic village in a valley between Sydney and Wollongong, and bounded by the Pacific ocean. Our private acreage backs onto the southern tip of the Royal National Park, so the outlook from the campsite is all leafy trees. Walk to lookouts over the ocean, hike down to the beach or a few minutes drive to dog friendly beaches. Our bathroom and kitchen facilities make it an easy experience for first time campers. We are well-behaved-dog-friendly BUT you must let us know in advance. Our access track to the camping sites has been repaired with a deep layer of asphalt but still best suited to 4WD. The majority of standard 2WD cars manage the track fine There is also the option of parking roadside, and walking in approx 300m to the sites. Please message us if unsure about your vehicle. IMPORTANT PLEASE READ 1. Please let us know if you are bringing a dog/dogs - we have horses, house dogs, chickens and; wildlife plus likely other campers close by, so need to be forewarned. Dogs must be on lead or contained at all times. 2. If you need to camp out of your 4WD RV (such as a roof top tent), please contact me before booking to ensure those two particular vehicle sites are still available :) and that your vehicle is suitable for our track. Maximum length is approx 5m. Please scroll through the photos to see our amenities and camping sites. 3. We limit the number of people staying at any one time, so weekends book up quickly. That said, due to Covid and weather, people often cancel at the last minute too, so if we are currently booked out, it's always worthile checking again closer to the date for any availability. We are on acreage (approx 7 acres) in Otford, surrounded by forest, backing onto the very southern end of the Royal National Park Sydney/Wollongong. Sleep under the stars, and to the hoot of our local owls, and yips of the gorgeous feather-tail gliders. Lovely, peaceful and private in a bushland backdrop but so close and just a hike to famous sites, beaches, cafes and bushwalking - so the perfect spot to stop, unpack and then go exploring. Peaceful farm setting on a working horse property. Offering limited, laser levelled fully turfed sites, to allow space. The large lake is a feature of the property and abounds with bird life of many species. This campsite suits fully self sufficient campers with own drinking water and toilet/shower amenities. Pets are welcome by arrangement, especially your horses (please contact us to arrange holidaying with your dog or horse before booking). In summer you may see mumma swan and her baby cygnets, as well as lots of ducklings. Drop in your paddle board or kayak for a leisurely paddle. Take a relaxed stroll around the property and depending on the season you might spy a wylie fox or a turtle laying eggs. Deer occasionally visit and echidnas and wombats, although nocturnal animals sometimes are a precious sight. There are platypus in the creek and fish in the lake.k Pre-booked riding lessons available. We have a state forest over the road suited to bush walking or mountain bikes. Ammo the horse who galloped out in the Sydney 2000 Olympics opening ceremony is buried here at Lakestead Farm. We love to speak about our Olympic experience. Please note these campsite are for 2 people with one car only (children welcome to visit with adults). NOTE: There aror showers - campers need to BRING their own. We love our pristine environment so no bush poos allowed. We are located minutes from the M1, easy to break your journey, 40 minutes from Wahroonga and Newcastle exit. Just 5 minutes drive to Wyong Centre with shopping centre and good restaurants, and 20 minutes drive to beaches. Off the ground fires are allowed outside bushfire season. Wood to be supplied by campers. Our property is designed to welcome small groups of people who want a quiet getaway. Because we like to keep it more intimate, The property is not designed for large groups of 10 or more wanting a social gathering or party. We are an easy 40 minute drive to the Hunter Valley wineries and concerts in the vines The Lake can be fun to swim or paddle around but all visitors must wear life vests whilst in the water. Locally we have some great festivals to visit the Glenworth Food and Wine festival, Yarramalong valley Spring fair with Scarecrow comp, Wyong Love Lanes festival, Harvest festival, Ratmines Catalina Festival, Brisbane water Oyster Festival to name a few. IMPORTANT PLEASE READ. Camping toilet At Lakestead Farm we pride ourselves on our beautiful environment. We have lots of wildlife around. We are very upset when visitors to the Farm dig holes and poo in them. Leaving toilet paper on top. This is so unfair to us and future campers on our sites. Because this has occurred we will only allow campers with camping toilets. In order for us to accept your request you need to confirm you have a toilet. Don’t say yes if you don’t have one, Checks will be done, if you don’t have a portable toilet you will be asked to leave and your fees won’t be refunded. We are sorry if this offends anyone, we love to share our property but only with people who will love and respect it.
