I had such an amazing time at Otford park! Natasha’s property is stunning, and she was an extremely friendly and hospitable host. The tent-only site was surrounded by lush rainforest, and extremely well maintained. The facilities, including firepit, kitchenette, toilet, shower were amazing, and the option for Natasha to provide firewood was really handy. I was a little nervous about accessing the property in my 2WD sedan, but it was totally fine and Natasha sent through instructions with pictures before my arrival which were helpful. The property is also really well located for walks to nearby beaches, lookouts and national parkland. Thanks Natasha, I can’t wait to come back!

Weekend Trip to Mountain Lagoon Hideaway

Our second stay here and loved it just as much as the first. We stayed up the top (orange) site because there had been heavy rains for days previous and was the most dry. The site is large with plenty of level ground along on the top. There was lots of firewood to collect but got a load added on as it was wet. The site was nice in between all the trees and more so with the site further down (green). There was a small amount of cars that went past on the road above but didn’t bother us as it’s just people going to and from their houses so not constant. There’s an easy walk with some up and down that leads off into the national park. We got to a point and turned back but I believe it goes on as far as you want. It’s was nice getting out in to the silence and listening to the birds and breeze through the trees Dannii and Adam were lovely and came over for a quick chat before we left on the Sunday. Lots of plans for the place to upgrade the sites but they have done so much already. On the way home (or there) you go through Bilpin so highly recommend grabbing an apple pie or some local honey. Lots of places to choose from.

We were very lucky to have the area to ourselves so had a perfect afternoon in the outdoor bath with bubbles under the stars. The location is perfect for adventuring the national park like figure 8 pools and old train tunnels around stanwell park and helensbough. Couldn’t fault the facility everything was organised and work perfectly. We took our jayco eagle outback to the facility and was manageable to drive in but wouldn’t suggest anything bigger.

1 night at The Freedom Farm River Paradise

Great location right next to the river with plenty of room for a group of people to chill out and have fun. Was good to be able to build a fire in the designated spot and the compost toilets work well. If your into fishing, there is a great jetty onto the river and plenty of fish to be caught.

Thank you so much Danni & Adam for hosting us in your little slice of paradise! Great facilities like a super clean and not smelly toilet! As a fungi lover I loved coming in Autumn and finding all the little treasures on the property but will have to come back again before the season is up with more time to explore because 2 nights was just enough for this escape. Hosts were warm and welcoming, with amazing communication leading up to our stay, while giving us our little corner to tuck away in away from the main residence, but knowing someone was close in an emergency helped me sleep a little better. We chose the Kangaroo site and it was a perfect nook in nature to set up our tent and enjoy some time away from the buzz and had plenty around to explore around us but far enough away from neighbours and roads it felt national park-esque with the perk of a VERY close toilet! Thank you for our pumpkin I can't wait to make some soup!

Beautiful spot. 4WD road up not bad at all if you have ok clearance on your car. If your car is very low I would probably be careful. Birdsong in the morning and lots of deer around. Very peaceful and quiet except for sounds of nature and the odd train in the distance which was actually cool! Amenities were really great - hot shower with a rain head was very plush. Sink with hot water to wash up dishes etc. We felt very clean the whole time :) Each spot has fire pits and there’s an assortment of iron cookware in the shared kitchen - I’ll definitely make use of this next time!

Debbie is an exceptional host. I arrived to find a personalised welcome pack which was very helpful. As my stay coincided with heavy rain Debbie offered additional shelter which, whilst declined, goes to demonstrate her commitment to support her guests. The views across the valley are breathtaking and for this reason alone I’d highly recommend this simple site. The facilities are basic but well stocked and maintained to a very high standard. Canoelands Valley Camping is an easy-to-access camping area with magnificent views through the National Park Valley. With only two allocated camping/van zones enjoy the privacy and access to walk around the 40 acres. Located 1.15 hrs from Sydney CBD this is an ideal place for a quick weekend getaway for keen hikers, mountain bikers and nature enthusiasts. Surrounded by the Marramarra National Park you have a short drive to access the Canoelands Ridge Trail (17kms), Duckponds Ridge Trail, Marrarra Ridge to Smugglers Point Ridge Trail. We are a short drive to dine at Wiseman Ferry, and only 11 minutes from the local Woolworths. Or enjoy a beautiful walk at Fagan Park in Galston. Your camping/van area is supplied with red/bins. 2 Portaloos available or camping toilets. Dogs allowed but please let me know first. They will need to be on leash all the time and well behaved. Please pick up after them ANYWHERE they go toilet and also they must be vaccinated. No cats allowed. A campfire during permitted times is allowed but only in the fire pits. There is loads of dried kindling and small logs around the property otherwise please bring your own. All Sites have fire pits. CHILDREN are to be accompanied by an adult at all times if walking around the property. Beautiful spot to relax, with loads of wildlife and bird watching. Please use bins supplied and leave no trace. * There are 4 allocated camp sites. Two are easy(2WD & Vans/trailers) access and have the direct view through the valley. Two require high wheel clearance vehicles (just small hill to drive up with some rocks), these are more private sites(cannot see the other campers) still with lovely views. Otford Park nr Royal National Park

Otford is a historic village in a valley between Sydney and Wollongong, and bounded by the Pacific ocean. Our private acreage backs onto the southern tip of the Royal National Park, so the outlook from the campsite is all leafy trees. Walk to lookouts over the ocean, hike down to the beach or a few minutes drive to dog friendly beaches. Our bathroom and kitchen facilities make it an easy experience for first time campers. We are well-behaved-dog-friendly BUT you must let us know in advance. Our access track to the camping sites has been repaired with a deep layer of asphalt but still best suited to 4WD. The majority of standard 2WD cars manage the track fine There is also the option of parking roadside, and walking in approx 300m to the sites. Please message us if unsure about your vehicle. IMPORTANT PLEASE READ 1. Please let us know if you are bringing a dog/dogs - we have horses, house dogs, chickens and; wildlife plus likely other campers close by, so need to be forewarned. Dogs must be on lead or contained at all times. 2. If you need to camp out of your 4WD RV (such as a roof top tent), please contact me before booking to ensure those two particular vehicle sites are still available :) and that your vehicle is suitable for our track. "DeView" Colo River Valley Camping

Beautiful property, nestled into the Colo Valley, next to the pristine Colo River. We have cleared grassy paddocks, some shady areas, and access to the Colo River, one of the most pristine rivers in NSW. Our river access is normally shallow, well suited to young families or those who just want to lay back and enjoy a quiet refreshing dip. Amazing sunrises, sunsets, and star gazing are provided free of charge along with bird watching, local wildlife, and horses in surrounding paddocks. We offer limited sites to comply with NSW Camping legislation and Hipcamp guidelines and to enable campers to experience the Colo as it should be, listening to the beautiful wildlife and really appreciating the outdoors. Sites are large spaces with varying distance between sites to enable you to enjoy the camping experience in your own space. Both paddock sites and limited river spots are available. If you are planning to stay with friends and you wish to share a site only 1 booking is required, the sites are large, some up to 30m x 30m. (Saturday night 2 night minimum) Pets are allowed on a case-by-case basis, please check with Hosts prior to booking, as conditions and a charge applies. Please ADD EXTRA at checkout for dogs... $20 per dog per visit There is no mobile reception or internet access, therefore, providing a true off-grid retreat. Self-sufficient campers are preferred. ALL waste is to leave with you! There are local bush walks through National Parks and great places for mountain bike riding although be mindful of holiday traffic in peak times on our local dirt roads. The large lake is a feature of the property and abounds with bird life of many species. This campsite suits fully self sufficient campers with own drinking water and toilet/shower amenities. Pets are welcome by arrangement, especially your horses (please contact us to arrange holidaying with your dog or horse before booking). In summer you may see mumma swan and her baby cygnets, as well as lots of ducklings. Drop in your paddle board or kayak for a leisurely paddle. Take a relaxed stroll around the property and depending on the season you might spy a wylie fox or a turtle laying eggs. Deer occasionally visit and echidnas and wombats, although nocturnal animals sometimes are a precious sight. Just 5 minutes drive to Wyong Centre with shopping centre and good restaurants, and 20 minutes drive to beaches. Off the ground fires are allowed outside bushfire season. Wood to be supplied by campers. Our property is designed to welcome small groups of people who want a quiet getaway. Because we like to keep it more intimate, The property is not designed for large groups of 10 or more wanting a social gathering or party. We are an easy 40 minute drive to the Hunter Valley wineries and concerts in the vines The Lake can be fun to swim or paddle around but all visitors must wear life vests whilst in the water. Locally we have some great festivals to visit the Glenworth Food and Wine festival, Yarramalong valley Spring fair with Scarecrow comp, Wyong Love Lanes festival, Harvest festival, Ratmines Catalina Festival, Brisbane water Oyster Festival to name a few. We are very upset when visitors to the Farm dig holes and poo in them. Leaving toilet paper on top. This is so unfair to us and future campers on our sites. Located at Bilpin, this beautiful campsite is nestled at the foot of the majestic Blue Mountains and backs onto Wollemi National Park. This magical 16 acres is abundant with wildlife and where you camp is the mouth to the beginning of some great hiking tracks in the National Park! There are a few great campsites to choose from- one at the top of the property (good for families/large groups up to approx 20) with good flat ground and surrounded by a lush forest. It's close to the road so it is easy access in and out, another two at the back with water views and one in the forest (If you have 4wd and portable loo we can give you an exclusive spot in the bottom of the golden gorge). Enjoy the sounds of the bubbling stream and see the sunset at the waterhole. Sit back and relax around the campfire whilst toasting a marshmallow or some damper. This campsite offers a unique heptagonal toilet (no shower yet but its on the way). Please ensure you're fully self sufficient with all other supplies (including water). From here you can explore the amazing Blue Mountain views, marvel at a magical glow worm dell, check out the 2 apple cider breweries and taste some of the region's delicious produce. Colo River is 30 mins away, a clear waterhole is 10 min drive ( 4wd only- hosts can transport if available), the mouth of a hiking trail to the National Park is on the property, the main township of Bilpin is close by with the baker, fruit and vege picking, Mountain Bells Cafe (host recommendation), apple pies galore and the restaurant , the markets are on Saturday morning 10-12 noon at the local hall and there is a free meditation group 9am Sunday at the monastery. With so much to do you will need more than one night or plan a return visit to the amazing Mountain Lagoon Hideaway at Bilpin! We can also offer massage and reiki treatments on site as a 'nature immersion' experience or if you prefer it can be in the privacy of a massage studio (10 mins away), guided nature and wildlife walks/sunset walks or longer hikes, professional ecology tours, fire twirling lessons or performance and African drumming lessons, games for the kids, local produce hampers, eggs and BBQS (with notice and if hosts are available). Please discuss with your hosts for further details and availability :) PLEASE ensure you read rules and safety as well as directions, because GPS will take you to the wrong property. The land is a nature retreat and developing animal rescue sanctuary so we love to share the space with respectful nature loving people :) Our motto is leave no trace. We look forward to welcoming you to our unique and magical slice of paradise! 🪵 IMPORTANT : Only use rock circles for fire. Fire must be put out if you 1) Leave the site each day 2) Each night before bed and 3) When you leave completely. IF THIS IS NOT DONE AND THE FIRE BRIGADE IS CALLED 'YOU ARE' RESPONSIBLE FOR THE 10K PLUS FINE. Neighbours have and will call the fire brigade if they see smoke. This is a strict policy due to being in a National Park and to protect the precious nature and wildlife. Two buckets of water are supplied for this purpose. Sticks in the buckets for animals to safely exit if they fall in. Whats App us with plenty of notice if you need more water. If it is hot weather or windy there may be a TOTAL FIRE ban.
