Sugar Beach Ranch is one of the most secluded treasures in the Northern Rivers, only 40 mins from Byron Bay NSW and within 30 mins to Ballina, Bangalow and surrounding scenic waterfalls. The property offers a two-bedroom bungalow and a secluded campsite for self-contained campers, in addition to our other variety of services including retreats, equine therapy, weddings and venue hire. Our property is surrounded by the crystal clear ocean, a beautiful rural outlook and rainforest walks. Sugar Beach Ranch offers you a private and picturesque beachfront experience. Simply put it's ‘Nature’s Playground’. Sugar Beach Ranch is a special place... a place of relaxation and reflection. We want guests to enjoy the break away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Wake up to songs of native birds. Bring your own horse, guitar, or your writing book and loll away the hours nurturing your soul in paradise. All guests have shared access to the 15m resort-style magnesium pool and direct beach access from the property. We are a wildlife sanctuary and an operating farm with horses, chickens, ducks, pigeons and a peacock. There are dogs on the property to protect the chickens and other animals from predators, so please don’t bring any pets of your own. Enjoy Sugar Beach Ranch with your horse, bring them along for the holiday, and plenty of beach and trail rides. Paddock accommodation available. As we are located in the secluded and sleepy cane fields of South Ballina there is limited access to shops, cafes, restaurants, etc. The Burns Point Ferry is the best way to get to us, it runs from 5:30am until 12.30am daily, consistently running back and forth. An approx. 8min journey each way and costs $7.00 each way, payable by credit card only. So you can easily go into Ballina town for all shops, cafes, restaurants, etc. If the ferry isn't for you, you can drive to Ballina via Wardell on River Drive. The bungalow is located approx. 25m from the main residence, and the campsite is located approx. 300m from the main residence tucked away in the paddocks and forest. We are onsite and available if needed. Sugar Beach Ranch is an operating farm with staff onsite caring for animals and maintaining the grounds. The Meadow at Dunoon is located 40 mins from Byron Bay; 20 mins from Bangalow. Its the perfect escape for couples, a small group of friends or families who are seeking a relaxing and environmentally friendly Byron Hinterland break. Our two eco-friendly domes sit on a 120 acre property providing a unique experience with a sense of space and privacy that helps you disengage from the everyday. Access to water and solar power on site. There are 2 domes available for up to 6 guests, with each dome including its own bathroom. Each dome has a queen bed and a single. There is an an outdoor undercover space including a kitchenette area, BBQ, sink, fridge, freezer, kettle, microwave & cutlery/crockery. Please note there is no oven or cooktop, only a BBQ. There are two hammocks and outdoor lounges to spend some time enjoying the view and time together. For those looking for a bit of adventure there is plenty to do in the surrounding area. Local attractions include: Whiann Whiann Falls- swimming hole- (5 minutes) Nightcap National Park, including spectacular Minyon Falls (30 minutes) Rocky Creek Dam, which has walks and a platypus trail (10 minutes) Eltham Hotel (15 minutes) The Channon Tavern and monthly markets (10 minutes) Bangalow Markets (20 minutes) Important information: Linen not provided. Doona, sheets, pillow tea towels needed. PLEASE NOTE: This is a "glamping" experience so insects and nature is a part of the experience. The tents are set on a concrete slab which is regularly sprayed however insects will still be around as the tents are set in the middle of the paddock so please be mindful of this. This property uses Solar Power (not connected to the grid) so please be aware of energy usage. All lights and general appliances are low energy and remain suitable for use over an extended sunless/cloudy period. If you drain the solar you will lose power and hot water. Both domes have aircon. The air-con cannot be left on. They were installed so if you have been out exploring all day and return to find a very hot or cold dome it gives you the ability to modify the temperature quickly. Once the dome has been cooled down or heated up (in our experience this takes approximately 10-15 mins) you can switch it off and use the fans provided if the evening is warm. If you leave the aircon continually running or forget to turn it off and go out you will lose power and the power will not return until the solar has had a chance to recharge the next day. There are 2 portable fans inside the domes and a fan for outdoor use for hot days. To reduce the impact on hot days the domes have rooftop curtains that should remain closed along with the front window curtains to keep the tents cooler. Guests have access to the entire 120 acre property. There is a gate for access to the paddocks beyond the dome fencing. The gate needs to be closed immediately after entering and exiting to prevent cows entering the dome area and causing damage or exiting onto the main road. You can stroll along the road until you reach the bushland on the far end of the property. We do not recommend walking through long grass on the property without protective footwear as snakes are known to live in the hinterlands region. Please be aware the driveway to the domes is not sealed. It is a gravel driveway. In the rain it may be slippery. Parking at the top of the property is recommended for cars that are not suitable for gravel inclines.

The gorgeous distant views making the sky look magical and a beautiful hidden waterfall hidden alongside a beautiful rainforest pocket. Greg went above and beyond to make us feel at home and catered for but also left us to experience the tranquil and peaceful R and R we were looking for. Thanks Greg. We will be back!

We loved our stay at Misty Mountain! Beautiful property and so many areas to camp. We picked a spot with a stunning view and had an awesome time. There was only one group at the same site and they were very quiet and respectful, we couldn’t even tell they were there! Excellent value, the amenities are great and the host was lovely. There’s a nice hike you can do and a dam where you can use the kayaks. Would definitely recommend to everyone. A nice change from usual busy and noisy campgrounds filled with bogans.

Ballina beach nature resort is so nice, beautifully located in south Ballina. So nice to catch the ferry across with car and then drive through the sugar cane. We camped one night and the amenities were clean, camp kitchen was great with fridges for us to use. We also stayed two nights in one of their basic units and it was great, everything worked as it should, gas cooking and yeah can't say anything bad about the place. Staff were very attentive and nice, so helpful.

Stayed for 2 nights and it rained a little but Greg still made us feel comfortable and welcome. Lovely sites to choose from and the cleanest portable toilet I’ve ever used. Would definitely come back.. there’s a camp kitchen and hot shower with a flushable toilet near front of the property for campers to use which has a kettle and place to charge your phone if needed and wifi up in the camp kitchen

We had a fantastic time at Misty Campground with our group of friends! The sites were private and peaceful, yet still close to clean amenities. There was plenty of open space to relax, and best of all, it’s dog-friendly — our dog's loved it! Perfect spot for a mid week getaway and close to the local towns for any last minute supplies. Highly recommend for a relaxing outdoor escape!

Very nice place with beautiful scenerio, bit windy in camp 1 as it is on the top, check in went smooth, a guy welcomed us with all information, had accessible flush toilets and game rooms with kitchen and fridge in it. We were 10 people by ouself at camp1, regardless 2 cabin far away from us. Everything was going smooth but another guy came up at 9:50pm stating he is the care taker and was rudely told us to shut our music, which can be taken care in a nice way😰. We got bit distracted/ worried for couple of hours as there was ambulance for cabin resident. Otherwise it was a nice place to stay and relax

Felt well looked after, and the directions around the place were clear and understandable. Perfect spot just far enough away to enjoy the serenity but close enough to towns. Shuttlebus available to our wonderful hippy village. There are curiosity shops with very different stuff, and a smoking culture. There is nowhere else anything like it. You can do Nimbin in a day. If you have time to relax and unwind, you can do it over two days, and enjoy the restaurants and cafes. I have local knowledge. There are lookouts with spectacular views. Here there's unusual fruit trees, a trampoline, and a basketball court if you want to shoot a few hoops, weights equipment, and a martial arts dojo if you are curious about learning some self defence. There's a flat parking area for RV's and tents. It's not a big space, so it's a semi social area, and it's possible to interact and relax in the in the undercover area. There's a fire place at night, and a Babakiuaera where you can get Wifi and play cards. I'm a qualified driving instructor, so i know about vehicles and safe driving practices. some folks love it here and come back. It's a relatively small space, not suitable for everyone.

We are cattle farmers with free range chooks, we have horses We are within 10 mins to casino nsw or 20 to lismore If you are lucky you can see bottle fed calves pat a horse relax with tents or caravan plenty of flat land to turn around on. We have toilet and showers but keep showers to under 4 mins due to only tank water here plus we have a great camp kitchen and depending on how many people here a fridge and freezer to use Pets allowed but only on leashes full time only zero off leash at all or you are responsible for damages . Within walking distance of Nimbin village, Djanbung Gardens offers a beautiful hideaway close to town. It is a renowned permaculture farmlet with ponds, forest, fruit trees, gardens, chickens, turkeys, free range ducks, bamboo, meadows and wildlife (lots of birdlife, wallabies, bandicoots, possums, goannas, lizards and snakes) We have 3 private tent sites available (vehicles left in carpark & wheelbarrows to take camping gear to your site) being the bamboo site, meadow site and forest site. For camper trailers and vans there is one site on the LandsEnd meadow. All sites are approx. 100m from the facilities of the main building. Main building is a communal hub with al fresco kitchen, shower (hot/cold water), mains power for charging devices, wi-fi, great undercover and outdoor tables settings all close to the composting toilets and communal campfire. You can ask the host about access to the main room library or playing the piano. Sinks and shower have filtered rain water where you can fill up your containers. Store food in your vehicle or ask about critter-proof food storage at the main building (possums & goannas love to steal food). Explore our permaculture gardens, relax in the bamboo gazebo by the lily dam and check if we have any workshops or garden activities you can join while here. Thankyou for considering Dungarubba Fields. We offer you a well located and secure camp-site to explore the North Coast or for that overnight stay while you are travelling to your destination and need a safe place to camp. Our four campsites are spacious and are freshly mown flat grassed sites. Each campsite has 1 or 2 stone circles for campfires, with free kindling and free firewood supplied to all campsites. Whether you are a single traveller, a couple, family or group booking we have the campsite for you. We are family friendly and dog friendly. Dungarubba Fields is a private, rural setting on six acres on Bundjalung country. Four of our camp sites are situated across a small bridge in the back paddock, and one camp site is situated just before the bridge for those self driving campervans with a wider wheel-base. The paddock was once cleared and in recent years we have planted and cared for over 100 new Koala and rainforest trees. After the Northern Rivers floods of 2022 we are now continuing the bush regeneration beside the Dungarubba wetland which borders our property. Our camp-sites offer shade, space, wildlife and birdlife. Campfires are allowed 12 months a year depending on fire ratings and local conditions except on days of Total Fire Ban and the preceding evening going into a Total Fire Ban. We supply the free firewood to each campsite as we understand how important the campfire is to the camping experience. Outside the fire season we can supply a readymade Bonfire at an additional cost to your booking. Hipcampers can access fresh drinking water (rainwater) from our rainwater tanks, with an accessible tap near our home. Hipcampers have access to a downstairs flushing toilet at the house. We offer a Portaloo for larger group bookings situated beside your camp site as an optional extra for an additional cost. The Portaloo needs to be booked when you make your booking. The house on the property was originally built in 1903 as the Catholic Church of the nearby locality Riley's Hill. In the 1940’s it was moved to the current site after low attendance by parishioners who didn’t want to have to row across the Richmond River and get their feet wet to attend Mass. The church sold the building in the 1980’s and it was raised off the ground with two new wings attached on either side to become a private residence. The sugar cane and soybeans, however more surrounding land is being planted to Macadamia nuts which will change the look of the landscape in future. During May to November of an evening, you can look out for the occasional cane fire which is a historic part of the harvesting of sugar. The Richmond River and boat ramp is a short 2 minutes drive for both fishing and water skiing. The Broadwater National Park with sand-dunes and a fishing beach is only a 10 minute drive away. The Pacific Highway is 7 minutes drive away. The beautiful coastal village of Evans Head with shops, a medical clinic and a patrolled beach is just a 15 minutes drive. The nearest townships are Broadwater (2 fuel stations and a pub under new management), Coraki (junction of 2 rivers), Woodburn (pub with a bistro and a laundrette) and Evans Head (a township with most services). We are a 45 minutes drive to Byron Bay and 25 minutes to the coastal city of Ballina up the Pacific Highway or 25 minutes drive inland to the city of Lismore. We welcome friendly dogs and there is plenty of space for them to run around and chase balls or other dogs. Our dog Stella is a 4 year old Blue Heeler, who greets people from the balcony barking as you drive in. Don’t let the barking fool you as she loves visitors and their dogs. We expect owners to be responsible for their dogs and in particularly when there are Koalas close by. We ask dogs not to roam at night as Koalas are nocturnal (and so are other critters) and night-time is when they choose their food tree for the next day and roam around. Zaytuna Farm Eco Hamlet is a family friendly farm, situated on a sixty six acre (27 hectares) property that fronts Terania Creek opposite the village of The Channon, Northern NSW. The property is completely off-grid and contains 800m of creek frontage with fishing spots, a swimming hole for campers, and abundant wildlife ideal for bird watchers. Zaytuna Farm Eco Hamlet has recently become a community of 8 private residences that share this beautiful property. We kindly ask that campers respect the residents’ privacy, however if you spot them on the common grounds, they are always up for a friendly chat. CAMPSITE The campsite is situated on the communal grounds at the heart of Zaytuna Farm Eco Hamlet on flat lawn surrounded by bamboo and the sounds of the rainforest. We also have 10 raised camping shelters on offer, suitable for small tents for 1-2 people. Campers have close access to bathrooms built from eco-friendly shipping containers with composting toilets and warm showers; a fire pit, a kitchen garden to share from, an education/function center (available for hire), a common sheltered area to relax with wifi, and an equipped shared kitchen. OTHER NOTES We strictly have a no drug and alcohol policy. Due to our policy and customs, we kindly ask that no pork products enter the property, and that reasonably modest clothing is worn (shoulders down to knees covered is fine) including around the swimming hole. Please note this is not the place for partying, but a place for connecting with nature and nurturing wellbeing. We kindly ask that all rubbish is taken off the premise as there are no bins. This unique abode, has a relaxed feel on a 5 acre property, close to the Byron town (only 13kms) but far enough away to enjoy the solitude the hinterlands offers with access to wide open fresh air. It consists of a 1964 original vintage caravan, with an open-plan living/dining area, a gorgeous industrial-style bathroom, with a glass ceiling for star gazing & an outdoor fire-pit. The open air living allows guests to feel 100% connected to the natural environment, while at the same time having access to reliable, fast internet along with the comforts of a hot shower, flush loo etc. It is an ideal way to capture the restored feeling from remote camping, without the hassle of taking all your camping gear. Sleeping arrangements: We have a custom-made inner spring mattress that is an unusual size due to the vintage age of the vintage caravan & therefore the size, is in between a King-single & double size width & a queen-size length (which may or may not be big enough for 2 people depending on your sleeping expectations). The actual measurements are: 1.13M wide & 2M long. There is also a separate king single-size bed, on the other side of the caravan, suitable for another adult, a child or two small children. All linen and bath towels etc are provided. The caravan is cosy, with a TV, stereo, fridge, sink, wardrobe & storage space. The property is not far from the beautiful bathhouses of Mullumbimby too ie Kiva Spa & Banya bathhouse We are a pet-friendly property. If you wish to bring your friendly pet, they are welcome, but we charge a fee of $25 . Please select that you have a pet when making your booking. We also request that you kindly ensure that your pet does not go inside the caravan or on any of the furniture including the bed, lounge etc. If there is dog hair in the van or on the couch we may need to charge an extra cleaning fee.

Wildlife abounds with regular visits from wallabies, birds and other native fauna on this private site, in a wildlife sanctuary situated on a permaculture hamlet in the heart of Nimbin. Town is walking distance through a rainforest bush track (approx 1km). Known for it's "alternative lifestyle" Nimbin boasts mutliple communities living as close to nature with minimal impact. Our modern self-contained caravan is solar-powered with rainwater tanks in keeping with Nimbin's sustainable ethic. This is the epitome of a haven; tranquil yet close to the action in town. The first weekend in May is the annual Mardi Grass "Protestival"; a protest against the unfair cannabis laws. September sees the annual Poetry Performance World Cup run across 3 days as well as the Nimbin Agricultural Show. The Nimbin Roots Festival in October boasts a host of Australian musical acts. The Permaculture College at the end of the walk, is another beautiful institution worthy of exploring and has regular workshops and courses. With pristine creeks, swimming is popular during summer as well as at the local community pool with its BBQ area leading into a children's playground and the famous Nimbin Skate Park. Visit the Nimbin Candle Factory or the Church of Aquarius. The monthly markets are held in the old school ground every 4th and 5th Sunday of the month with and abundance of 2nd hand stalls filled with bargains and local musicians entertaining the masses. The Friday night Drum Circle is a popular haunt for aspiring drummers and the monthly Open Mic nights at the Bowlo are a regular for townies and tourists alike, with excellent food in the restaurant and a plethora of talent on the rise.
