Our property is private so we ask you to contact us first to ensure we can provide the facilities most suited to you. It suits off-road independent hybrid caravaners and tent dwellers. The river is home to mangroves (so mosquitoes feed the leaping fish), all manner of sea creatures and dolphins are frequent in drier periods.
Birdlife includes an array of land and waterbirds, such as Eagles, Magpies, Kookaburras, colourful parrots and smaller shyer birds. The wildlife includes kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, reptiles. You may espy a Koala along the foreshore. For this reason, while we accept dogs, they must be on a leash (if not just for their own safety).
The boat ramp has good access for kayaks/canoes. Or just sit on a camper chair and dangle your feet in the water while watching the mud crabs go about their social business.
Riverside sites are not powered and do not have water or sewerage. They are situated within 10m to 25m of each other and if this is too close, we recommend booking two sites. Generally, we prefer campers to be 100% self-contained, with their own toilet. A toilet is however accessible, but some 300m to 400m distance from the dams and rivers. There is cold potable running water here for topping up.
Sealed roads to the front gate to access the property from north and south. All-weather gravel road access is available, although paddock sites can only be accessed by vehicle during dry periods. Weather willing, we can provide more secluded sites by some lovely dams, (please check conditions if you have concerns).

- Fishing
- Bike riding
(small motor vessels only by arrangement)
- Surface type: grass or paddock leveled areas and others with slight slopes and accessed with 4WD (of course subject to weather).

- No electrical connections unless by arrangement (for longer term Hipcampers)
- We treat our own sewerage.
- No generators please.

We loved our stay here. Some lovely walks to do and a nice swim spot to float. We took our dachshund and she was having zoomies all the time. We enjoyed a feed at the local pub too.

We had a great time at The Hill. The location was perfect, and no one around (apart from the goats which kept the dogs entertained). The toilet was built really well and close enough to the camp to walk to. And we loved the little seating area to sit at with the lights on a night time - a really nice touch! We'd definitely stay here again!

My partner and I loved camping at Wattle Valley Farm! Each spot looked very secluded and lots of room between each one.
All the amenities were clean, well-maintained and uncrowded.
Lots of areas to explore and a nice little creek to swim in as well!

We had a lovely time at Wattle valley farm camping. The hosts welcomed us and showed us different spots available for our tent and car. Every spots felt private and we never felt on top of the other guests. It was a really hot weekend and were really glad we could swim in the river ! Also the shower and toilet facilities were perfect, clean and enough for all the campers. U would really recommend this place for families and people with dogs.

Great hosts and campsite, have been before and would go again. There's a good availability and variation in sites. We had a lovely time with our dog in a little spot surrounded by bush and near the river so we felt quite separate from everyone else, although you could still hear adjacent spots, which was to be expected

Our first time camping with our youngest (6 yrs) and we all loved it. A large open field with several pitches (marked by campfire sites) and also several other pitches dotted around the bush in nooks. A short walk to the river which was a welcome way to cool off on a 39° day! FYI the water isn't clear. Hot showers and flushing toilets were good. The middle shower in the family room is temperamental and doesn't flow as well as the others. Jenna and Matt were both lovely, approachable and welcoming. The cave walk was short but sweet. Unfortunately we didn't manage to get to do the 45 min loop bush walk...next time! A short drive to Wollombi village and also a great location to explore some of the wineries in Broke. The bridge over the river, to access the site felt a bit scary driving over as it felt narrow (no barriers on the sides), especially in the dark but in looking in the wing mirrors we had a good foot or 2 either side.
A successful first trip and already booking another for Easter! Thanks for giving us the bug! I loved this site and would recommend to others.

Beautiful camping spot not too far from Sydney, hosted by absolutely lovely people! You can camp near others in the open paddock or find a more secluded campsite surrounded by trees, which was perfect for us. Having toilets & showers was such a luxury as well. Swimming in the river on such hot days was the best way to cool down! We brought our puppy and she had the best time too. Overall just loved the vibe at this site, lots of friendly people all enjoying the camping experience. Thanks Matt & Jenna for having us at Wattle Valley Farm!

I camped beside the river with my rooftop tent & dogs. It was peaceful, beautiful & relaxing. There were numerous birds, including kookaburra’s, and wombat holes, although none- spotted. There were ducks & fish on the river.
The walk to the caves was lovely, and the local shops, art gallery & tapas bars were also great, with some of the best food I’ve tasted. Will definitely be back. The drive from Sydney was pleasant.

This was our second time camping at Blackwood Hill and will definitely be a regular for us. We spent a very hot (40 deg) weekend here and had a really comfortable time, the causeway is a great spot to swim and cool off, with some great shade and flowing water. We went into town and visited the newly renovated Settlers Arms pub (twice) - their local sourced scotch fillet was absolutely prime.
Brad is always a great host and has some good tips for the area - can't go wrong staying at Blackwood Hill!

Not too many campers, lovely hosts, clean bathrooms and hot showers. There are 2 walking trails but we didn't walk them.

What a wonderful place to getaway, setup camp and enjoy the surroundings. The toilets and showers are a bonus. The hosts are super friendly and extremely helpful. Not overcrowded which is credit to the host which means plenty of space between you and the other campers. The township is only 5min drive if you wanted to grab lunch or a coffee. I would recommend this place highly and already planning when to stay again.

Loved our trip to Wattle Valley Farm! We had a fantastic camping trip and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The campsite was clean, well-maintained, and perfect for us. The atmosphere was just right - spacious with campsites scattered through such a great space, with enough shade for everyone. The facilities to the overall layout of the site, making it easy to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Just sitting around the campfire, exploring the surrounding area, swimming, reading made for a memorable 5 nights. Perfect location for a gateway with your dogs, would highly recommend to anyone wanting a scenic getaway, the site has immaculate amenities and the hosts are very kind, has a few beautiful walking trails that also feature aboriginal cave art and a river that can be used to swim in. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be coming back !!

The internet connection is very limited .. but honestly that was also a good detox from that..
