Located at Mandalong, a small rural community near the town of Morisset and west of Lake Macquarie, New South Wales. The established green 112 acre equine property has the Watagan Mountains as the backdrop. We are approximately 5 minutes off the M1 Motorway and 1 hour drive north of Sydney. Whilst on property it’s a buzz of horse life and there are many horses in the paddocks that will be curious to see you and hang over the fence for a nice little scratch. You will notice an abundance of wildlife that will be around; lovely birds, kangaroos and wallabies and if you are lucky the local deer might call in either early mornings or on dusk. Plus of a night time stop and look up into the lovely night sky while listening to the abundance of frogs, crickets and other noises that come alive. If you are wanting to have a fire you are more then welcome and you can go for a walk about to collect as many pieces of wood on the ground. Don’t forget to collect a good marshmallow stick! While you are on the property and if you want to be apart of any extra activities you see please don’t hesitate to ask. If you are wanting to explore and head off property and explore the local area there is an array of things to do some close and some further away. We are 40 minutes out from the heart of Hunter Valley wine country, minutes away from a few local beaches; Norah Head, Catherine Hill Bay, Soldiers Beach or Caves Beach. All have cafes or pubs close. If you are wanting to head to the bush the Watagan Mountains which are our backdrop has endless picnic spots/look outs etc where you can enjoy driving, walking, dirt/push bike tracks or if you have a specific mountain bike buzz you can head to Awaba Mountain Bike trail. Enjoy a peaceful night's rest in your tent/vehicle, then hop out of bed and enjoy the peaceful surrounds of the cabin with access to a kitchen area supplying rainwater. With the secluded bush surroundings and the quiet, it's hard to believe you're only an hour away from Sydney. You might even see a Koala There is strictly no accomodation in the Cabin. The camp features a camping toilet and bathing facilities, gas bbq, a kitchen washing area, NO FRIDGE, a recreation space and dining table when the weather is bad. All you need to do is roll out your swag. Campers are encouraged to take their rubbish with them. There is access to power for campervans/caravans. Warm your toes at the outdoor fireplace whilst you chat with friends. (Please bring own firewood). You will be a 10 minute drive from the beautiful Dharawal National Park which has wonderful swimming holes and bush walks. The site is 15 minutes drive from Campbelltown, which offers all amenities of a large metropolitan city.

I absolutely loved staying here. It was ultra private and such a great facility with the toilet, shower and outdoor living room. I would definitely come back again. The property has character with little signs and sculptures everywhere. A wonderful rainforest on the property that has some interesting and noisy wild life!

This was a great property for those who want a remote camping feel! The facility was as described, and it was nice to have access to a toilet/shower. David came to introduce himself and told us about the property and the not infrequent koala sightings! While we didn’t see any during our stay, we did have a great time.

Beautiful place! So peaceful and relaxing. We sat and soaked in the bush, listening to the birds for hours. Lush and cool despite the 35 deg day. Brendan was a great host, providing firewood as promised and giving us a tour of his amazing garden of edible flowers, herbs and veges, but otherwise allowing us our privacy.

Such a spectacular campsite in the most secluded and peaceful region. Cell data doesn’t work so you feel completely off grid and there are a bunch of little trails and walks you can do. The campsite is very well equipped with a toilet, undercover area, book nook, chairs, a table, a lovely fireplace, and more! Brendan is a very kind host who gives you whatever information you need to enjoy your stay, we highly recommend the orange picking. All in all, a great trip and an even better spot.

This was a perfect site for us. Just a place one group, and there was the added benefit of a nice covered area with a table and chairs next to the fireplace. Generous fire wood was supplied as well. Totally quiet with just the sounds of nature. Extra bonus. It is off the grid. We will be back.

My wife and I had such a beautiful, quiet, relaxing time in this amazing place to be. Listening to and watching the beautiful birdlife, the local wildlife and enjoying the creek and the serenity. Brendan is a great guy, polite and down to Earth. The campsite is neat and comfortable. Take your time to relax and cross the creek, walk the trail and be amazed by nature.

1 night at Emerald Park Equine

I had a wonderful stay at Emerald Park Equine. I was kindly shown to my spot by Keelee who was happy to give me a bit of a background on the place and later in the evening I watched some of the horses being fed. The spot in the back paddock was divine. Peaceful and private. Horses in the paddock nearby and friendly cows came to visit me at my bus! A joey hopped down to drink at the billabong in the late afternoon as the rest of the mob of roos grazed nearby. The place is a balm to the soul - I slept like a log - and with the bonus of being an easy ten minute drive off the main motorway. You wouldn't believe it though. Felt like it was a million miles from anywhere. A magic property, well worth a stay.

Our first time camping with the kids and we had a great time. The cabin with drinking water and toilet/shower was very convenient and very useful for storing things. Outdoor pizza oven was a big success. Was great to find a camp site so close to Sydney where we could also take our dogs. A short drive to the national park where we enjoyed hiking with the kids to the Minerva Pool.
