I built this cabin to be a romantic, cozy off-grid getaway for humans , but if most of our guests are being honest, the dogs are the ones having the best time.
There’s a cozy queen bed with fresh linens and a down duvet. A covered deck with handcrafted rocking chairs for sunset views. A private fire area below for campfires and stargazing. LED lighting, a Bluetooth speaker, a Jackery battery bank, clean well water, lanterns, an outdoor shower, and a clean outhouse. I’ll even haul your gear in by ATV so you can settle in without the hassle.
And after all that work, most guests still seem to agree on the real highlight:
Watching their dogs absolutely lose their minds with happiness.
More than anything, this place has become a favourite for people who want to give their dogs the kind of freedom they rarely get anywhere else. Most of our guests tell us over and over, that their favourite part is watching their best friends make their own decisions, run the trails, sniff everything, chase chipmunks, explore the forest, and basically have the time of their lives.
Of course, the humans tend to enjoy themselves too.
The cabin sits on a west-facing cliff on our private 164-acre property. Once you arrive, you’ll have the feeling of having the whole place to yourselves. The trails, the forest, the quiet, the sunsets, it all feels wonderfully removed from the usual noise.
This time of year, the forest is waking up, and the property starts to shift into spring. It’s a beautiful season here, muddy in spots, full of fresh smells, birdsong, and that feeling that everything is coming back to life. For dogs, it’s heaven. For people, it’s a chance to unplug, slow down, and enjoy a kind of peace that’s getting harder to find.
You’ll have access to 10 km of private trails through forest, ridgelines, and lakeshore. Wildlife is plentiful, and depending on the season, you may spot deer, foxes, loons, and maybe even a family of bald eagles!
There’s no electricity or running water, but that’s part of the magic. This is real off-grid comfort: simple, peaceful, and thoughtfully set up so you can enjoy nature without giving up a good night’s sleep.

There is a main cabin that is set up for two people that comes with your rental.

Weekend Trip to Meech Creek Falls
This is a pretty special place, just off one of the best rail trails anywhere. Very private, with only white noise from the falls to hear - I slept longer than I do at home!
We arrived in pouring rain very glad we didn't have to pitch a tent ourselves, but instead could go warm up in the sauna.
And important for June... It seemed like perfect conditions for blackflies and mosquitoes but there were hardly any, even at sunset. I guess being on the slope there's not really any standing water.

If you like privacy this is a place you will love. A beautiful dock gives direct access to the lake. The yurt is very spacious. You even have electricity. This cabin is such a restful retreat in the middle of the forest, with a big beautiful hiking trail right on the property. It’s fully secluded for dogs to run freely, yet Mike and Monique live right nearby for anything you need during your stay. The cabin is equipped with all the essentials, the bed is comfy and Mike is highly responsive to any needs, while also respecting your privacy. I can’t wait to return!

A wonderful little spot! The cabin overlooking the cliff makes you feel like you’re above the trees, and the sunsets are to die for. Everything we could need was provided, which made for the most relaxing weekend ever. Of course, our dogs had the most amazing time, running free in the forest while we walked along the marked trails. It felt both private and homey, the perfect combination for a getaway from the city. Big thank you to Mike for the clear instructions and helpful attitude; we didn’t need anything but I wouldn’t have hesitated to ask!

There's something really special about this place. The peace, nature, and quiet atmosphere make it the perfect place to disconnect and recharge.
The outdoor hot tub late at night is an absolute must! Such a relaxing and unforgettable experience under the night sky.
Jennie & Jeremy are amazing hosts, and everything feels welcoming and relaxing. Definitely becoming one of my favourite getaway spots!

An absolutely perfect winter cabin retreat. Cozy, spotless, and thoughtfully equipped. It was a great place to unplug, relax, and enjoy the winter season. We loved being able to let our dog roam safely off-leash and enjoy the freedom. Mike gave us such a warm welcome that immediately made us feel at home. The off grid cabin was a really cozy and scenic experience! The cabin opens up to a lovely view of the surrounding hills and woods with a nice forest to walk on the property.
Spending the evening in? They have a wonderful sauna, cold plunge and hot tub area with amazing views of the night sky, great for a weekend getaway.
