This property uses Solar Power (not connected to the grid) so please be aware of energy usage. All lights and general appliances are low energy and remain suitable for use over an extended sunless/cloudy period. If you drain the solar you will lose power and hot water. Both domes have aircon. The air-con cannot be left on. They were installed so if you have been out exploring all day and return to find a very hot or cold dome it gives you the ability to modify the temperature quickly. Once the dome has been cooled down or heated up (in our experience this takes approximately 10-15 mins) you can switch it off and use the fans provided if the evening is warm. If you leave the aircon continually running or forget to turn it off and go out you will lose power and the power will not return until the solar has had a chance to recharge the next day. There are 2 portable fans inside the domes and a fan for outdoor use for hot days. To reduce the impact on hot days the domes have rooftop curtains that should remain closed along with the front window curtains to keep the tents cooler. Guests have access to the entire 120 acre property. There is a gate for access to the paddocks beyond the dome fencing. The gate needs to be closed immediately after entering and exiting to prevent cows entering the dome area and causing damage or exiting onto the main road. You can stroll along the road until you reach the bushland on the far end of the property. We do not recommend walking through long grass on the property without protective footwear as snakes are known to live in the hinterlands region. Please be aware the driveway to the domes is not sealed. It is a gravel driveway. In the rain it may be slippery. Parking at the top of the property is recommended for cars that are not suitable for gravel inclines.

The cabin is roomy and comfortable - with a main lounge/bedroom, a kitchen/pantry, plus bathroom with shower & composting toilet, and a good sized deck looking east. Facilities include a queen sized bed, an indoor wood fire for winter time, a basic kitchen, and a table and chairs. We are off grid so there is solar power, and clean tank water. We provide drinking water in a filtered urn, and basic tea & coffee. There is no wifi, but there is internet access available from your own phone. This is a perfect place to wind down and enjoy the natural environment. There is a grocery store in Burringbar - The Barn - that also sells alcohol, and pizza available on Fridays, and Thai food available for eat in or takeaway on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. If you have friends with you that are camping, there is room next to the cabin for tents, or a campervan.

Barachi by the creek is an absolutely magical place. Peaceful, secluded and surrounded by natural beauty while giving you everything you need for a trip away without all the mod cons. Pete and Tania are speedy and effective in communication and are awesome hosts. Cannot recommend this enough. You will not regret your decision to book. We had the most incredible night at Peter and Tania's cabin! The cabin was so decked out with everything we needed and the beds were comfier than the ones at home! The dog and the kids loved the creek, we hiked and explored the paddocks :) A big storm rolled in and we all watched the lighting from the porch and all slept so cozy with rain on the tin roof! Solar shower was perfect to give everyone a wash! Beautiful property and very private, we will most certainly come back again! Peter was so easy to communicate with and made sure we were all set. Great experience thanks so much 🙏🏼

1 night at Caravan in the mountains

We had such an amazing time at Kathy's place. The location, the setup and the hosts are absolutely incredible. Very welcoming, warm and friendly hosts and the caravan setup is very comfortable. It had all basic amenities and much more - there's a dishwasher, fridge and drinking water. Beds were very comfortable and lots of extra beddings. The view is breathtaking. We had a nice fireplace setup when we arrived and Kathy came up to greet us and was very welcoming. We had such a great night chatting around the fire and star gazing. The space is high up on the hills and you get a full 360 mountain views. The farm animals were very friendly and we enjoyed feeding the rabbits - they were so cute and extremely friendly. Highly recommend staying at Kathy's place. We can't wait to return.

My girls and I absolutely loved camping at Kathy’s! The caravan was well set up and Kathy was very thorough in ensuring that we had all that we needed. Loved that caravan already had linen and bedding and all appliances were in good nick. Kathy was always responsive whenever we needed anything. The highlight of our stay was getting to pat and cuddle the bunnies. My daughters absolutely loved this and couldn’t get enough. They’re already trying to convince me to move into NSW so we can get a pet bunny! We definitely recommend this spot. Great for anyone just wanting a bit of peace and quiet with Kyogle only a short 15mins away if you need supplies. We’ll definitely be back.

This was a great place to stay for our family, which included our dog who could roam around and was really happy. We loved the serenity, exploring the creek/surrounds and unplugging from technology - cards and Yahtzee are a must! The barbecue was great for cooking and I recommend doing a fire at night. The accommodation is as described and I would definitely recommend the buggy ride down/back for luggage. If you do want to go back to your car and do some exploring around Modenville, it is a fair walk (30-35 mins) from the shack so be aware of that if you have younger kids or are not that mobile you probably just want to hang out down at the shack. Only small negative was the shower was pretty basic. Peter and Tania were great as well, make sure you have a chat and ask any questions. Overall - highly recommended.

My wife’s sister came to visit from Canada, and this place was perfect for our whole family to travel together. There were no disturbances at all, and it was a private space just for our family to relax and enjoy, which we really loved. There are many nice areas nearby, making it a great location for light sightseeing and enjoying delicious food. Also, the amazing sunsets and stars visible from the dome tent gave us a perfect escape from the tiring city life. If we get the chance again, we would definitely love to visit again.

Privacy, peace, and a welcome escape from the concrete jungle. We had a relaxing two days in the caravan—Kathy is a wonderful host, and the animals are absolutely adorable. They love a cuddle, especially the baby bunnies. In the evenings, we enjoyed campfires, and during the day, we had lots of fun going for walks. There’s also a bike trail if you bring one along. Highly recommended!

We loved Stuart's place for a peaceful getaway from the hustle & bustle. Is positioned perfectly for nearby walking trails & visits to quaint local villages. The Forest Gypsy tiny home is nestled amongst a beautiful canopy, is very private and has the basic essentials to get you through the day. A fire pit, sauna and nature pool were on offer but we didn't take advantage of these. Stuart was very kind to let us pick fruit from his orchard - the scent of the orange blossoms was divine. Sushi the dog happily greeted us each day, with plenty of cuddles & kisses. Taking in the clean country air, gazing at the night time sky and mingling with the resident fireflies was an absolute pleasure. Stuart was very personable & ensured our stay was most enjoyable :-). We will definitely be back.

Weekend Trip to The Meadow -Byron Hinterlands Domes

Jane has created a truly unique property with her two dome tents in Dunoon. It was so much fun just being there and seeing the incredible views from the dome and the central covered kitchen / lounge area. The sunsets are amazing! After camping for over a week prior to getting to the domes, it was so luxurious being able to have a proper shower, flushing toilet and comfy bed and huge couch to savour the evening skies. Really interesting and unique place. ❤️

We stayed in the new cabin and it was perfect. Comfy bed, furnished and decorated beautifully. The little outhouse toilet was clean and located in a great position. The farm is in a good location and the animals are friendly. The sound of the running creek is extremely relaxing. We found good sized agates and common opal in the creek. We would highly recommend this place and we will definitely be back again, hopefully soon. The hosts are super friendly and helpful.
