Some of our campsites/ Van sites DO NOT come with facilities. Please read your site description carefully. We have 1 powered site that is power ONLY on our Dam site. No toilets, showers, kitchen or pool. You need to be fully self contained. Some Campsites are in our lovely small manicured bush garden setting. It's a level, grass/lawn shaded area. There are 4x 15 amp powered sites. Suitable for small quiet groups/ families. NOT suitable for loud partying. The state forest is a short 10min drive away for bush walking, mountain biking and 4 wheel driving. Beach is 40 min drive away. We are located close to the Central Coast and Newcastle. (In Cooranbong ) Some of our camp sites have access to three eco toilets and only one shared shower, rubbish facilities and drinking water. (Campfires) we have 5 fire pits on some of our sites , fires are permitted during the winter months. We also have 2 x 4 star cabins which sleep 15 between them, they are listed separately on Hipcamp. However the guests from both the camp sites and the cabins have shared access to the pool and facilities. Which includes a large under cover patio area. FRIENDLY PETS welcome. On certain camp sites ourSmall kitchen with microwave dishwasher and cook top and fridge may be used . Please just clean up any mess you make. For the next guest All cleaning products under sink. WE HAVE 2 DOGS that are people friendly., who love to meet new fury friends , they do have the run of our property . As our property has a lot of maintenance lawns /gardens ; we may use mowers blowers etc , we will possibly maintain between 10 am to 2 pm If needed. Noonameena is a beautiful retreat that feels secluded from the world, yet is just a stones throw from shops, beach, good food and parklands. We offer a number of grassy, level sites, some with shade, others with sun, all with bushland to the rear. There is also a pond/dam area, and lots of wildlife. We have a fire pit for communal use (subject to fire bans and weather conditions). The kangaroos will come and visit you early in the morning, and in the evening. You will also see lots of different parrots and birds. We even have goannas and echidnas about and the black cockatoos will come in for a visit. You will need to bring your own camp toilet, as we don't have facilities here. Pets are welcome but please keep them on a lead at all times as we have lots of wildlife around! Please note, when we have heavy rain, the ground can get boggy. We are very mindful to keep tabs on the weather for our guests, and will be in good communication with you in the lead up to your stay should we suspect there to be any issues. Whilst camping by the beautiful dam is lovely in fine weather, when it's raining, it’s best to camp towards the front of the property on higher ground. We'll advise the best solution in these circumstances. LET US KNOW about your preferred booking even if it appears booked out, as we can probably make it work or have ALTERNATIVE solutions for you! Caravans and RV's that are fully self contained eg: has a toilet are welcome. Sorry no tents. If you could please let us know your ETA that would be very much appreciated. We are only 10-15 mins to Nelson Bay centre. Beaches are just down the road also which includes Birubi Beach which goes all the way to Stockton and many more near by. Right next door is Murrays Brewery and Sunset in the Vines, very handy to be able to walk next door (a really short walk) and have dinner and a drink. Shark and Ray Centre is 10 mins drive also and then there is the Butterfly House and Shark and Ray Rescue Centre just behind us on Marsh Road. Whilst we offer a space on our front area next to the dam, it is only a small area but plenty of room for a large van or RV with room to put out your awning provided you park where we suggest. We supply a fire pit and wood if you would like, please let us know on arrival or before you arrive so we can have it ready, (this in not an extra it is included in the price). We can offer electricity for an extra cost of $10 per night if needed. The main house is at the top of the circular drive way, you will be camping (Approx 50 m from the house). Pictures show this. We endeavour to appreciate your privacy as much as possible.

With the nearest country villages of Paxton and Ellalong just 15 minutes up the road, with their cafes, local pub and general store, you can grab supplies nearby. Or, head into Cessnock, 20km up the dirt road for more essential services. **Please note that the creek and waterhole pictured are reliant on the weather. During drought or extended dry periods the water level may be lower than pictured. Please message for the latest updates. UPDATE - 18th June 2025: We regret to advise that following multiple flooding events our access road and campsites have been severely damaged (ie impassable even by 4wd) and are currently unsafe. As the cost of repairs are significant we cannot provide a rectification date at this stage.

Had a great stay. Plenty of walks and some stunning scenery. The view from the lookout was one of the best. Campsites 11 and 12 were well maintained with plenty of room for kids and dogs to run around. Clean drop toilets and hot solar shower. We were very impressed. Hope to come back again soon.

We loved our stay at Bonneydoon. The property is outstanding with plenty to do without even leaving the property if you don’t want to travel around the local points of interest. At the time of our 2 night stay, there was nobody else there so Nicholas said we can take our pick of sites even though we only paid for the cheapest camp site. Throw in the beautiful views, fantastic wildlife and great weather, we couldn’t fault this Hip Camp.

We really enjoyed our stay here with our pets for 3 nights. Sibby's communication was excellent, the place was easy to find and we were guided into our spot. Everything was very green, there was plenty of Birdlife, roos and possums and peace at nighttime. We based ourselves here and went to Newcastle and Nelson Bay easily over the few days, easy drives in both directions.

Nicholas was great helping me pick the right site for a tent and two campervans. Nice and flat, loads of space and fantastic views. We had the whole place to ourselves. Access to a water tap and clean pit toilets close by. We didn’t use the showers or camp kitchen down the hill but seemed okay. Bit hot during the day - need to bring your own shade for this site but there are others under trees. Steep downhill bush bash to see an amazing sunset from lookout, breathtaking sunrises to start the day and THE STARS - wow!! Delighted to see our first ever fireflies ✨ Got too dark to visit the big tree but good to save something for next visit. On the more expensive side of the hipcamps we have stayed at but worth it for the views, walks, peace and serenity only 1.5 hours from Newcastle. Thank you 🙏🏼

we were there for a long week end during school holidays and the way the sites are designed are very private and doesn't feel crowded. We are self sufficient but truly appreciated the clean facilities and environment. Our dog loved swimming in the dams.
